- wang2383Longjing, Taichung71,661 contributionsThe price here is cheaperBugis Street is just opposite the Bugis Tram Station. It was almost crowded when we visited. There are dozens of shops selling various daily necessities, clothing, 3C products, and food. Some of the passages here are very crowded. It is narrow, and the goods displayed by the merchants are many and even a bit cluttered. Relatively speaking, the prices here are relatively cheap. If you have enough time, you can come from the Arabian District and wander around, and you may be able to find treasures.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 10, 2024
- Maureen FMooloolaba, Australia22 contributionsSingapore holidayAbsolutely loved Singapore. So clean, easy to get around on the MRT and everyone was friendly. We stayed at the Holiday Inn express at Clarke Quay which was very close to everything. Although the room was small, it was cleaned daily and we didn't spend a lot of time there.....too much to see and do in this city. The Zoo, the Botanical gardens, Gardens by the Bay were all wonderful to see, especially at night and a visit to Raffles for a (very expensive) Gin Sling was a tick off the bucket list. Overall a city I highly recommend for a holidayVisited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 18, 2024
- SahilChrunguNew Delhi, India1,961 contributionsPerfect Shopping DestinationOver 800 shops and stalls in different sizes come together to make the Bugis Street one of the best places for shopping in Singapore. After its renovation, the street is now all covered, which means that shoppers can have a good time without worrying about the scorching heat or the downpour; and choose from a range of clothes, accessories, footwear, electronic items, household goods, souvenirs, and other knick-knacks. There is an entire range of clothes of the latest trend that the street has to offer, though one will have to make some effort to look for clothes that suit the taste. Shirts and t-shirts here start at just SGD 10, and one can easily get a good pair of jeans for around SGD 15. Matching accessories are also easily available, and sunglasses and hats start from as low as SGD 5. Bugis Street is also the perfect place to source some souvenirs and knick-knacks from. Most of the trinkets here, such as key rings, postcards, and stationery items are available for as cheap as SGD 1.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 20, 2024
- Belinda8Hobart, Australia25 contributionsShops galoreGreat bustling part of Singapore. Awesome market at really cheap prices. Preferred this area over Chinatown for shopping. Some colourful mosques add to the cultural experience. So many shops, easy to get lost when you go up the escalators to other levels. Great place to visit and shop.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 28, 2024
- Craig DPerth, Australia394 contributionsAn absolute must if you are visiting Singapore.Bugis is not just a street or a junction or a market. It is an institution! There are dozens of small shops, hawkers stalls, more food courts and small restaurants than you can count and also access to small supermarkets such as ABC (on Queen St). If you are staying in Singapore please go to ABC first to get just about anything you may need at less than half the price of a Seven-11.Visited October 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 7, 2024

Touted as one of affordable places to shop in Singapore, it does live up to that expectation.
From clothes to accessories to food, everything is available under one roof. It may not be the best quality but for the price point it does the trick. You may want to check on a discount with shop owners and they will oblige should it suit them.
Connected through an overhead link is Bugis Junction this is where you have everything with an improvement in quality over Bugis street. Followed by Bugis+ which is home to most of the known brands. Around the intercontinental hotel you have all the luxury brands too.
You are spoilt for choice at this place.

Back here at Bugis Street after nearly 4 years. In the intervening years (probably during the pandemic), some repair work was done and the ground floor, at least the part where clothing is being sold is now air-conditioned.
As I said in my review a few years ago it is a different experience from the shopping centers. If you are able to find the drink and juice stall, I highly recommend the durian juice. The drink and juice stall has two outlets, with one outlet just near the crossing to Bugis Junction.

The place to go for bargain shopping, the bags and suitcases here are of great quality and reasonable prices. You can always find a bargain here. There may be 1 or 2 that will haggle you until you purchase but most shop owners are very respectful and will mostly be recommending things that may be of interest. By far one of the best places to go shopping on a budget.

Back in the 50s and early 60s this was well known by the Bristish servicemen in Singapore as the "red light" district. It is now a busy market where you can buy anything. Lots of "strret food" stalls close by where the food is very good and very cheap.

N different shopping centre to Raffle city and Marina Bay as it is a great deal cheaper. Still has a number of name brands but there are also reasonably or even cheap shops here to purchase goods from.
We found that T shirts were quite cheap and there was of course food outlets.
Well worth a look as it is often overlooked by tourist but not the locals.

Fun place if you are near Bugis junction or Malaysian town. Cheaper shopping and eating alternative to the big malls. Lots of souvenir shops and small shops selling woman's clothing for $5-$10. Across the street is Albert Hawker Centre if you need to eat. Worth a visit to get away from all those regular pricier malls.
There are some cheap places to get ice cream or pork jerky or lotus cakes near entrance.

Bugis Street is a shopping area that spreads out to the west of Bugis Station. It is a chaotic arcade that resembles Ameyoko. Souvenir shops, supermarkets, clothing stores, bags, fresh juice stores, etc. are all packed together with products. I like this atmosphere. The sense of life and chaos reminds me of a Southeast Asian market. I didn't have anything to buy, so I just wandered around, but at the end of the arcade, there are tourist spots such as the Kannon Temple and Sri Krishnan Temple, as well as a modern shopping center, so why not stop by?

If you are looking for window shopping in Singapore, this is a place to be at. When you explore places in Singapore, you get amused at the varieties of options that Singapore has for you, when it comes to shopping. You find the costliest and classiest shops at orchard road in Singapore and just the next street in Bugis street, you will find the pirated version of original being sold at one tenth of original price, haha!
Even if you are not into pirated or cheap stuffs, do make sure you visit bugis street for the ambience and vibes it offers. I ended buying all my sovenirs from this spot.

My suggestion of visiting Singapore will be the singapore Bozana Sales period in mid of the year (May and June) as most of the branded items are having great worth discounts with quality. Further, can go for durian and many exotic local fruits season. Easy access to public transportation such as Grab and local taxi with MRT.

How far is Bugis St from the cruise terminal? Is it possible to get a bus there?
Written February 11, 2020
Take the Metro (MRT), fast and cheap.
From the end station is a 10-15 mun walk with your suitcases.
Or take a cab, not expensive in Singapore.
Save you a walk. Just depending on your luggage (suitcases or backpacking).
Enjoy your stay jn SIN :-)

How far is Bugis street from Orchard Road? Is it near and easy to get to? Thanks

Take Grab or walk it within 30 min. Grab is the easiest way to get around there it’s their equivalent of Uber

Hi, hemel68. What would you like to know about this attraction? Is this market still in the same place as it was , just up from bugis st train station.
Written May 31, 2018
Hello there, yes we took the MRT to the Bugis Station, which lets you off through the mall there. From the mall, Bugis Street market is just across the road.
