Mr. Jan is a true local of Singapore and you will definitely feel his energy rush during his explanations. I did not only learn from him but I enjoyed the way he gave us information. Feel free to ask him anything and I'm sure you'll enjoy the conversation. If you're looking for an exciting and entertaining tour, I highly recommend going with Mr. Jan!

My first time with Jan as my tour guide. I am amazed by how passionate, humorous, down to earth and inspiration he is as a tour guide. Walking along the historical architecture and listening to his stories are like reliving the history. He has shared with me lot of interesting things on this little red dot, a place I called home, despite I am a local. There is so much history about Singapore that I didn't know about. I really get to appreciate my country. This is the best tour that I have so far. I can't wait for more of his tours!

On 20 June 2023 my daughter, son-in-law and I went on a walking tour of Chinatown, little India and Kampong Glam which was conducted by Jan of Offbeat Singapore. It was a fantastic experience. Jan was very knowledgeable and informative. Jan provided an explanation of the history and the development of each sector The tour started in Pagoda Lane in Chinatown. Jan explained the history the development of Chinatown from opium dens to the bustling beautiful sector that is present-day Chinatown. We went to a Traders Market where we sampled beautiful Chinese food. Between Chinatown and little India we lied past and had photos taken with interactive street art. In little India we went a busy market where we had a drink (it was a very hot day) and sampled some food and were taken to back alleys and side streets. We saw the eccentric Kampong Glam. We would absolutely recommend this tour.

We did the "Pinch of Singapore" with Jan. I can't recommend him more highly. Jan was the ultimate guide, warm and friendly with loads of knowledge of the history and culture, being a local. He was easy to listen to, making the experience both entertaining and educational. He answered all questions with frankness and courtesy. The group is deliberately kept small to make it a more intimate experience which was great, we met some interesting travellers and were encouraged to interact over samples of local food and drink. The walk is not difficult and the local knowledge of where to eat and how to use the MRT was invaluable.

The best tour that you can make in Singapour! Jan explain a lot of information about the live in this city and the most relevant historic things that have taken place in Singapour in the last years . He gives you a lot of tips about food and places that are recomended to visit during your stay in Singapour . In addition, the tour is very fun and in each of the ethnic neighborhoods you can try a characteristic snack! Thank you Jan!

‘Pinch of Singapore’ was such a fun, informative tour with Stephen! His love for Singapore was contagious and he intrigued us with some personal and family stories to complement the sites we visited. I especially enjoyed tasting items in each ethnic area and the beautiful murals capturing the history in each place. I would definitely recommend this walking tour to others.

I’m so glad my family and I booked this tour in Singapore. Yan is an amazing guide and felt like a friend by the end of the day. Highlights for me were the Maxwell hawker center and orchid garden. Transportation was super comfortable. This is a really well-organized, personal tour and I highly recommend it for first time visitors.

We scheduled a private tour with Jan while my parents were visiting from the US. He tailored it perfectly to fit our needs and interests. We learned so many cool facts about Singapore and tried many new treats. We would highly recommend Jan and Offbeat Tours whether you live in Singapore or are just visiting!

This was a great Peeling Barks of Gelam tour with friends. Jan covered all the highlights and was a wealth of information about the area. It was a perfect springboard so that I can return and dig deeper and explore longer at my leisure with family. So much to see and do! I will definitely seek out Jan’s other tours. A+++

We are so pleased we did this tour. Jan is a very friendly and knowledgable guide and took us to several locations in Chinatown to sample the local cuisine. Any food or cultural questions we had answered and we both learned a lot. We would heartily recommend any visitors to take Jan's tour.
