Free tour which requires advance booking. Very interesting look at the lifestyle of the elite Peranakans. Take the tour and then wander into Chinatown for lunch at the Maxwell Street Hawker (Tian Tian booth).

You will see Baba House has a free entry in several google search sites and Lonely Planet too. However, in reality it's not, foreigners are charges $10 but others are free. Also, entry is very tedious through advance booking with card payment. So are the...More

I have been to only the Baba House and I was not disappointed, I could not comment on the Peranakan house though. I do feel confident that the guide at Baba House was very knowledgeable.
