- FumireadytogoHong Kong, China15 contributionsBeautiful Indoor WaterfallWe transferred from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur via Singapore airport. Despite of a limited amount of time, Jewel was worthy to visit. We felt relaxing and refreshed at the Rain Vortex, a iconic indoor waterfall. It was definitely a great spot to take pictures. As a large shopping mall, The Jewel almost included whatever I want. I would like to recommend a famous restaurant, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh on B2 floor, where you can try some delicious local food here.Hi Fumiletsgo, we are glad that you had a great time exploring Jewel Changi Airport! On your next visit, you can also check out our numerous play attractions, as well as iconic Light and Sound showcase that plays every day at 8PM and 9PM (with an additional 10PM show on Fri-Sun)! If you have any beautiful photos taken at Jewel, be sure to share them by tagging us at @JewelChangiAirport. - TheLeongOhanaUnited States7,497 contributionsVisited TwiceOur first visit happened right after we arrived in Singapore. We walked over to Jewel to see the waterfall but at 7:30am it was too early. We came back again at the end of our trip and finally got to see the water fall up close and climb a couple levels along the surrounding garden tiers. At the top you could walk through more of the indoor forest or on the skyways above but this required payment of the admission fee. Given that we viewed the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, we skipped this. We also headed down to the food court area to see the base and listed to more of the water rushing by is. Jewel had a good selection of restaurants and stores to keep one busy while laying over (have to go through customs) or visiting like we did.Hi wireless_in_CA, we are glad you had a great time in Jewel Changi Airport! The attractions at Canopy Park are great fun for visitors of all ages, and we hope you will return soon for a visit. - Fredric JohnDubai, United Arab Emirates848 contributionsSpending an hour of layover in Jewel ChangiWith a long hour of layover that I needed to spend in Singapore Airport Terminal 4, Jewel Changi is the only place I needed to be. The fountain was breathtaking as soon as I entered the airport. I spend my time taking photos and videos and visit some stores before my boarding time. I love how accessible each and every terminal is to each other. I didn’t get a chance to roam around the whole airport but hopefully next time as I was surprised with a lot of stores inside the airport. It took around 15 minutes from T4 to Jewel Changi.Hi notFredric, we are glad that you had a great time exploring Jewel Changi Airport! They sold a variety of items form small trinkets to clothing. The waterfall area was a marvel, and you can also take a tram that passes by the waterfall area. I only wish I had more time to explore during my layover.Hi mintchip30, we are glad that you had a great time exploring Jewel Changi Airport! - MichaelChewLondon, United Kingdom272 contributionsAmazing shopping mall within walking distance of the airport terminalsThis is an amazing shopping mall connected to and within walking distance from all 3 airport terminals in Changi airport. There are not just shops and restaurants but it has beautifully designed multilevel gardens and a huge waterfall. A great place to spend your transit time or while waiting for your flight. You can even do an early check in of your luggage for certain airlines before the desks open, so that you can wander around without being encumbered by your luggage. I would vote this the best airport mall in the world! Even the locals spend their weekends there.Hi MichaelChew, we are glad that you had a great time exploring Jewel Changi Airport! We had our carryon with us so were concerned about the path as they were on wheels but the path is smooth and easy. - MerryheartSingapore, Singapore7,434 contributionsBeautiful complex with world’s highest indoor waterfallJewel Changi is a shopping complex that is directly linked to the Changi Airport Terminal 1 arrival Hall. There is also a linked bridge to Terminal 3. Its theme is nature and the key attraction is the world’s highest indoor waterfall called the Rain Vortex. Built around the Vortex are flights of terraces with many green plants. At the top floor there are many restaurants with very good ambience. This is also where we can find some attractions like Hedge Maze, Mirror Maze, Canopy Park, Bouncing Net, Canopy bridge, Changi Experience Studio. The entrance tickets to these attractions are quite pricey. Overall, Jewel is a good place to visit not just for tourists arriving, departing from Changi Airport, many local residents flock here to shop & dine with friends & families too.Hi merryheartsg, we are glad that you had a great time exploring Jewel Changi Airport! the Terminl 4 (Jewel) in the Changi Airport is the most interestingterminal I´ve seen around the world. Beside many shops and restaurants there is a dome with a waterfall in the middle. After sundown every 30 minutes starts a show with lights and sound and any traveler is at rsik to miss the flight, just by watching the event.
When travellung to Sungapore or just at transit, you must take the time to go to terminal 4. There is a skytrain an a bridge and it is easy to get there from any terminal.

It is a new shopping in Changi airport. Obviously the most attractive object in this mall is the artificial waterfall which is right in the middle of the mall. I liked the design which give a sense of the forest feel. There is no observation deck but you view it from different floors. The mall offered variety of branded goods. It is an expensive place for shopping at least I enjoyed the windows shopping the free air-cond as the climate in Singapore was really hot during the time I visited.

We stayed at airport hotel cos we wanted to visit Jewel.
It was a good choice to stay a night so no rush to see everything here.
We came earlier before hotel's check in at 3pm. We had lunch at shake shack.
Then started shopping immediately. There were 5 floors in all plus 2 basements.
Shops are concentrated on 1 to 4, 5th is more entertainment, bars and food outlets. Level 4 mostly for kids shopping.
B1 B2 food restaurants and some retail shops too.
We shop at Desigual, Muji, Footlocker, ShirtBar, Zara, Marks and Spencer, etc.
There were some designer shops like Moschino, Furla, Katespade, etc but since we can get these in towns, we look for unique shops. DESIGUAL has limited edition items only at Jewel when items are first launched. By the time items move to the town stores, items could be sold out.
The shops are lined up in a circle so just walk and you end up at the starting point again. There are some restaurants or food shops in some of the levels so you can still dine then shop again on same level.
We tried JW360 for dinner, Shake Shack for lunch, Paris Baquette for Tea Time and had ice cream at birds of paradise. Now, you see where the calories go?
We just stroll floor by floor so easy to complete and not miss any shop.
At level 5 we pay to visit the evening christmas garden so we can take some great photos. There is even a camp site on this level where you can rent a tent just for fun. We had already booked a hotel.
The best part in Jewel is of course, the atrium with waterfall. At 630pm, there is the train going around the waterfall, snow flakes flying plus smoke effect. Just good photo session. Then 730pm, they have the light and music show. The sound of the water crashing down, colour changing plus music make this, a spectacular event!
There is even a SHAW movie theatre so if visitors had a short stopover, they could watch a movie here.
We love this place cos there is so much to see and do. Or even if you just want to waste time here, it can also help you to destress.
There should be an airport shuttle just to bring people from town to here in a swift. That is, express airport shuttle.
Overall, fantastic place to visit cos no tourists and thus not overly crowded.
A good escape if time permits.

Who would ever says they are impressed with airports? They basically serve a purpose. Some are good and some are not but Singapore Airport is a whole new level. The airport has to be one of the most organised and cleanest places we've travelled to. We stayed for one night at Crowne Plaza.
The Jewel is land-side between terminals 2 and 3 and is very aptly named. It tends to be restaurants, coffee lounges and so on. There are several bars on the top level. There are some tourist attractions to visit and if you are passing through Singapore, I'd suggest you take time out to include this place. I would not say that about any other airport we've been through! Many airlines have a bag drop so you can get rid of your suitcase early and relax before you go air-side through security for your flight. Even air-side there is plenty to do and see.
The world's biggest waterfall is impressive and in the evening from 7.30pm they do light shows with music.

We arrived in Singapore in the evening and just needed to get out of the airport, so we had to return to the airport the next day just to visit the Jewel. By taxi, it cost about $20 from downtown to the Jewel.
The rain vortex is definitely the highlight of the Jewel and with the Christmas tree and decorations, Christmas is a great time to get photos of it on each of the different levels. The Canopy Park has a lot of activities for adults and kids but each of them costs money. We did not try any of them and instead, we walked around the mall. The kids were so happy to find the Pokemon Store there and we bought some of the exclusive to Singapore Pokemon items. The Shake Shack is also at the Jewel but there was a long line so we did not try anything there. We also enjoyed checking out Tokyu Hands which we hadn't been to since we were in Tokyo last year.
There is even a movie theatre inside the Jewel and one of the screening rooms is designed for kids to watch movies and play at the same time if they choose to. What a great concept!
The Jewel Changi Airport puts other airports to shame. With so much to do, you can never have a boring layover in Singapore.

Since we had a late flight out, decided to check out at noon and spend our afternoon and early evening at Jewel Changi. We were not disappointed. Not only is the architecture of the central dome stunning, the whole concept of indoor nature with waterfall and other features has been taken to a level perhaps unique in the world. It's Gardens by the Bay meets gigantic shopping and entertainment centre.
This really is a great way to spend time on transit it you don't want to go to the city, or to kill time before flying like we did. With a mind boggling array of food and shopping options, Singapore has really come up with a winner.
Remember there are options to check in early for many airlines at Jewel. Connecting to the terminals was also very easy, although the signs may be a bit confusing. We took the Skytrain to terminal 2 and then the bus to Terminal 4. There are walking options too, but there is always a motorized alternative, so make sure to look for that.
Highly recommended.

We visited the Jewel at Changi Airport on the 6th January. The place is huge with a massive shopping centre hidden within the complex. The highlight of the Jewel is the free standing waterfall in the centre of the facility.
Unfortunately there was maintenance taking place during our visit (so the water had been turned off)
During our visit to the shops within the the Jewel we noticed it had started to rain!
As we walked past the waterfall started falling in all its glory! What a wonderful sight

The selection of food brands and shops in Jewel is really fantastic. There's some brand you can't get in other parts of Singapore - like A&E and Shake Shack. In fact, the queues for those places are ridiculously and surprisingly long!
The fountain is a must see and adds a nice touch to the ambience. There's timings for the music and light show - worth catching if you're only passing through once. And there's many good vantage points to see it from as the mall is circular around the fountain, with many floors to view it from.

Top mall that showcases our futuristic vortex waterfall with light shows every evening. Fab mix of retail brands ranging from casual to high-end and a wide variety of restaurant types and cuisines. Child-friendly, the top floor features an indoor park for children and adults to climb, stroll, and chill. B2 has a child-friendly cinema at Shaw theatres that has a play area for the kids while the adults watch the show. So huge that you can get a bit lost, but there are handy touchscreen info electronic boards at almost every escalator. Favourite new mall in the east!

Hi i have layover of 5hrs 55mins at Singapore airport I'm traveling from India to Australia on a student visa. I want to visit to the jewel how do I get there? Do I need a visa to clear immigration? Because I've seen some visa free transit facility for few countries... I'm a eligible for that please guide... If I do need a visa which visa should I take transit visa or visitor visa?

The traveler asked if a visa is required to visit Jewel. The answer is yes. You answered the question “do you need a visa to transit Singapore Chang?” for which the answer is “no.” Jewel is outside the airside part of the airport and requires going through immigration.

Hi!
Our flight departs T1 in Changi airport. Are we going to be able to get to the Jewel from T1 departures?? Or will we have to visit before going through departures?

Sorry, we checked out of the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, left our luggage with the hotel, walked over to Jewel Changi. Then we returned to the hotel to collect our luggage then checked in for our Qantas flight in Terminal 1. The entire complex is easy enough to get around on foot with luggage on wheels.

I think the previous answer is correct. I’m sure you can leave the airport and go to the jewel it’s not a very long walk. However getting in an out of Singapore airport or immigration can be difficult. I’ve just done it in July and August. They now require A form called the Singapore arrival card which must be filled in on the Internet before you arrive in Singapore. I have been to Singapore nearly a dozen times and in our last two trips I’ve never been treated so appallingly by the people at this airport. I’ve been given wrong information, and sent to the wrong lines,To get through immigration and passport control. That automatic machines did not accept our passports. Our passport was swallowed by one of the automatic machines. Everyone just looked at us and nobody came over to help. In the end I had to pull the machine apart and get my passport out. It was a nightmare an absolute nightmare. So I personally would not leave the waiting area to go to the jewel and then go through the hell of getting back into Singapore passport control. Let’s be honest the jewel is just a big circular shopping centre with a lot of dining areas as well. It has a big waterfall in the middle. And some attractions that children might enjoy. They had to be 1 million people in there when we went. I need to fact a week ago when I was there I didn’t bother going back. And quite honestly I will not be going back to Singapore again after the treatment that we got.

I would like to Visit Jewel before departing from Singapore. I am planning to reach Singapore Airport by 1 PM,

2. If yes, should I go to Terminal 3 first and check in my luggage and then proceed to Jewel?

I am planning to visit Jewel Changi Airport at 8AM is that a good idea? Because I don't have time during the afternoon or evening times. Will the waterfall be on at 8AM? Because from what I saw they said it's open at 10.00AM (I'm not planning to pay ticket for attractions)
