- Judy TGold Coast, Australia222 contributionsGreat atmosphereWe spent a couple of days exploring the Marina Bay precinct by day and night. It offers unlimited options for dining and shopping. We walked the entire bay area although it was hot during the day and opted to spend the heat of the day inside the Marina Bay Shoppes which offer everything from $3 noodles to Hermes. The highlight here is by night when the Bay area is alight with colour and activity. We started our walk from Fullerton 1 past the Merlion and across the Helix Bridge to watch the nightly coloured fountains set to music. You can board a bum boat and view the lights and city from the water. There are shows here a couple of times a night. We found the area vibrant and a hive of activity and a great day/night out exploring.Written July 7, 2022

We had drinks at the Lantern Skybar and Marina Bay looked spectacular. You can also get great views from the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.Written November 12, 2022
- Scher MSingapore, Singapore11 contributionsIconic & Great serviceWe came from another 5 star hotel prior to our MBS stay and boy you can really feel the difference in service. I complimented the check in staff right away because their check in process is well thought of and it was seamless. When u request for room service, all their customer service reps were very polite, professional no matter what time of day. This is our 2nd time staying in this hotel. Tried the room with club lounge access the first time and it was really worth it. For breakfast, you can choose between Rise and Spago. Their Rise breakfast now only comes with a set menu as they have stopped ala carte buffet June of this year. But believe me it's still filling. Ofcourse the MBS pool is still very much well maintained. I just hoped that they can upgrade their toilet with a washlet. The TV in our room was huge, the largest we've seen in all our hotel stays. We also love that it has Chromecast. If you haven't stayed in MBS and have not experienced their Instagram worthy infinity pool, it's a must that u try.😊Traveled as a coupleWritten December 27, 2021

If you want a view then this is a must! the views from here at night are just amazing, we got the most amazing pictures and my son was completely overwhelmed. The price is good value for money, they do have some renovation work going on at the moment. I would advise getting a ticket for the restaurant as you'll have more space better views and you can enjoy a drink and dessert.

Marina Bay in downtown Singapore is a well loved destination among residents and visitors alike. It is popular as a jogging cum cycling circuit at dawn and dusk, and a de rigueur photo stop for tourists visiting Singapore.
The promenade surrounding Marina Bay is the perfect place for an evening stroll to admire the city's skyline - skyscrapers with shimmering lights brightening the night sky. There are nightly multimedia shows at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel's outdoor plaza facing the waterfront.
This summer, the annual, month-long light festival returns to Marina Bay, drawing bigger crowds to the area than usual. (The event was shelved in 2020 and 2021 due to the covid pandemic.) i Light Marina Bay 2022 features light installations by artists from all over the world set up along the promenade. For public transport users, the promenade surrounding Marina Bay is within easy walking distance from the following subway stations:
• Bayfront MRT Station (navy MRT line, yellow MRT line).
• Downtown MRT Station (navy MRT line).
• Esplanade MRT Station (yellow MRT line).
• Marina Bay MRT Station (red MRT line, yellow MRT line).
• Raffles Place MRT Station (red MRT line, green MRT line).

It's the first image that many think about when they hear, "Singapore," and it was nice to be there. Sunset in December was at 7:30pm, and we sat on a bench around 7pm. Slowly watching the harbor turn to night was very nice. As we walked back to our hotel, we enjoyed seeing our route at night - so many beautiful lights in the harbor, along the river, on the walk bridges, and in so many neighborhoods.

Marina Bay is beautiful beyond words. The landscape is focused on the Marina Bay Sands building which just amazes with its size every time you look at it. The building itself is a masterpiece since it’s so huge but still so beautiful. Highly recommend to take a drink at the rooftop and enjoy the amazing views.

Such a great part of the city, it will be busy so expect crowds but it is the best spot to see some of the highlights of Singapore. There's lots to see like the Merlion and the Singapore Flyer, and some great shopping centers around, as well as great spots for photos of the Marina Bay Sands and ArtScience Museum. There is also a light show of a night that's free to watch.

Having spent the last 10 years in Dubai marina, I did not think the waterside view could be bettered. I must say that Marina Bay comes a very close second, very close. It's impressive during the day, but at night it comes alive once the financial district is lit as well as the Marina Bay Sands hotel standing majestically at the forefront. During our stay, we saw a couple of free orchestral concerts near the Esplanade, which, coupled with the backdrop of the Bay, was nothing short of spectacular. Plenty of restaurants scattered around the bay, the main area is near the Esplanade, but be warned the prices are high compared to eating elsewhere. Highlight of our trip.

We were in Singapore for 15 hours between flights and we knew we would end our night here. After spending all day enjoying the Gardens and the various indoor activities we wanted to end the night watching the shows and then going for a drink. After watching the light show at the Supertree Grove (8 & 9 PM also), we crossed the marina walkway to the bay to see the free Spectra light show which takes place nightly at 8 & 9PM in front of the hotel. Spots fill up quickly but it’s hard to find a bad spot. This show could best be described as the World of Color show from Disneyland. Considering this show is free along with the other one it is an amazing way to relax and end your day. After watching the show at the marina we opted for drinks at the Ce La Vi Club Lounge which sits at the top of the hotel. They offer free entry on Thursday and drink vouchers on days that there is a cover. Although drinks can be pricey it's worth it for the view and the vouchers essentially cover your entry or drinks however you choose to split it in your head. Just make sure to dress up a bit since they do have a dress code!

Had the morning in Singapore before a cruise.
Marina Bay is a bay located in the Central Area of Singapore, surrounded by the perimeter of four other planning areas, the Downtown Core, Marina East, Marina South and Straits View. The area surrounding the bay itself, also called Marina Bay, is a 360 hectare extension to the adjacent Central Business District. It is also the new downtown of Singapore, built on reclaimed land.
In the morning, the area is quiet and mostly occupied by joggers, bikers and other locals exercising. A nice stroll along the Promenade foot path connects to Roberston Caye and Merlion Park and provides excellent views of the city, gardens by the bay and signature lion fountain.

I used the Marina Link to get close to the Bay and then walked, easy relatively flat, to the bay.
There is plenty of open area to walk around in. Easy access to Marina Sands and its vast array of shops and food outlets.
We watch the Amphibious Duck take its tourist along the waterway and will do it next time.

Absolutely the BEST hotel stay and experience. Staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurants served delicious meals. Room service was attentive and fast. We chose to go to the Infinity Pool at 6:45pm. Being located on the 57th floor (the very top) we saw spectacular views of Singapore. Completely unforgettable

Are there fireworks in Singapore?? If so are they nightly at Marina bay or just for the national day on Friday the 9th.??
Being a tourist what and where should we avoid on Friday 9th??
Any ideas on doing something special for a birthday while here??

I believe the fire works was the practice for the national day.
We reserved ce la ve before getting to Singapore and it was great because there was a long line up for everyone else. We were there for 2 days only so we just tried ce la ve at nights and watched the light show on the vertical trees at night. That was every night at 7:45pm and 8:45pm. Good luck!

Hello. I stayed in the Pan Pacific hotel near the bay but it is very large and you may find it better to be in a smaller hotel. I've found hotels in Singapore good.
For sight seeing there are a lot of things to do - gardens, the Sky Park (standing on top of 3 towers in the shape of a boat), China town for cheap gifts and lots of shopping malls. The people are very nice and most speak English. Enjoy.
I would like to try the hop in hop off with river cruise tour. We r 5 of us with 2 infants. I went through the highlights and noticed that pickup service for the tour only available for certain hotels...which hotel will it be plz.
Thank you!

Hi - the question is a little confusing - the Hop On Hop Off Buses operate around Singapore on fixed routes - there are a number of providers at different prices but are valid for 24 hours or more if selected - they visit most of the Singapore attractions -- stopping nearby so you can hop off see what is to be seen and then return to the bus stop and wait for the next one to come by - Google will display several choices - the River Tour is run by a separate company - the boats run from Read Bridge up river to Marina Bay - there a number of Jetty's (stopping points) along the route - you buy your tickets at the booth (SGD25 for Adults SGD20 for children) board the boat - take the trip - about 50 mins - and get off where you got on.

Hi, I am planning a visit with two kids.
What are popular attractions at the bay?
How much time should I reserve to enjoy at the bay?
What time of the day is best?
Do I need to book anything in advance?

You might want to plan a whole day around the area as there are many shopping and eateries surrounding Marina Bay. With two kids, you could start in late morning by taking a Mass Transit Train or bus to Marina Bay sands. Start at the hotel or convention centre, walk around there in air-cond comfort if you like. then walk through the hotel to Garden By The Bay. There are two indoor domes there but if you want to save the entrance fees, the outside gardens is huge enough to walk through. Bring your kids to the Childrens' garden and let them play and get wet to their content. Then walk a little further south to the Marina Barrage and you could fly kites and have a little picnic overlooking the sea front.
Walk back to MBS and to the Helix Bridge by evening to see the stunning lights surrounding the Bay, The Flyer, etc... From there you could walk to the Merlion esplanade and thereafter to more shopping areas. there are eateries around that you may be spoilt for choices. Bring bring umbrellas or cap along in case of raining or too sunny.

WE stop in Singapore for 1 or 2 nights en route to Sydney and would like to see the Light Show at Marina Bay. Can we get a bus or metro from Changi
Village (our hotel location) and do we have to pay an entrance fee for Sands Park, or can we just see the show for free? Any info. would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Time to see a show of gardens by the sea it is free, or over to the bay and maybe some free entertainment on the stage. For quality food at very realistic costs visit a street market, great value great food.
