Nagtabon beach is not a resort or a beach with a caretaker. nagtabon beach is an open public beach in short "swim at your own risk". don't expect to have lifeguards, cottages, and restaurants because all of that is not existing in nagtabon beach. you can see some stores that offer food and cottages but those are operated but local which means you don't expect a resort service or quality. for the FREE beach, this one is the best. even nicer to some with entrance fees.

Tourist trap. The tricycle ride going to and from beach (Nagtabon Beach) costs us 2,500 pesos which is insane (It is actually cheaper in London which has day travel pass that costs 1500 pesos only lol).
Food and drinks are insanely overpriced.
The beach sand is dirty and full of rubbish. Parking are is outside but cars and motorbikes are allowed to enter the beach area.
I would never come back. Better visit coron or el nido.

It’s a Free beach , just a fantastic beach with everything you could ask for. The curved beach is lined with Palm trees , soft off white sand , crystal clear water that’s quite shallow for about 50m and it’s all sand and no seaweed/ coral rock under foot.
Great little shop/ restaurant that does superb mango shakes . There’s surf board and SUP hire and a kite surf business. No surf on our arrival as it’s mid summer so the sea was lovely and flat. A proper stunning Philippino beach , snorkelling area at either side of the bay- No jellyfish seen

Nagtabon beach is the nicest beach in Puerto Princesa. It's around 40 minutes ride. We contacted "Nagtabon Travel & Tours" to arrange our visit to this beautiful beach.
They were very professional and friendly.
They picked us up by car from the city for P1500. This the cheapest way to go to Nagtabon beach.
We also booked our tours with them and vans to go el nido. We loved the experience.
They are in Google maps. I will leave their contact for anyone that needs it: +639940900383 (WhatsApp, calls or SMS).

Amazing beach and very few tourists. My boyfriend enjoyed surfing at Balai Surf. We think one of the best beach in Palawan after being in Port Barton and El Nido.
We booked a transport service from Lau who guided us during our stay. You can contact them thru WhatsApp +639456939824.

Nagtabon beach is far from the likes of El Nido and Coron Beaches. Nagtabon beach sand is fine but not as white as the other Palawan beaches. But definitely, this place has its own beauty. The waves are perfect for surfing. Tourists don't offend come here hence the beach is all yours! There are also a few stores that sell liquors and seafoods. Overall, visiting this place is soooo worth it!

Nagtabon beach is picking up.
Since the road is finished in 2017 people now know how to find their way to Nagtabon.
Businesses are also picking up, there is now a boat tour to Chicken Island where you can snorkel trough caves, see the beautiful corals and even a shipwreck.
There is cottages for rent (P200 / P300 per day) and you can stay the night on the beach in one of the huts or in the more comfortable hostel up the hill.
There is stores that sell drinks and fresh food or fruit shakes.
In Javares Beachfront you can rent surfboards, skimboards and bodyboards.
Nagtabon is stunning and unspoiled, make sure you visit here before you go up North to the overcrowded places.

Nagtabon is one of the most beautiful and untouched beaches of Palawan.
Unlike the overcrowded and spoiled tourist spots like El Nido and Port Barton, the water in Nagtabon is crystal clear and free of sewage water.
If there is enough wind the waves are big enough to surf them and even if you don't surf, the strong waves can be a ton of fun.
Be careful of the undertow though, it can be quite hazardous if you're not a good swimmer.
Nagtabon can be reached within 35min. by motorbike or car.
There is not much accommodations at the moment but there is a hostel being build in 2018.
If you have the chance it's definitely worth paying it a visit since there is not only Nagtabon but also:
-Kalaodiong Beach
-Buksayan Beach
-Tagcawayan Big Beach
Which are all untouched and unspoiled beauties on there own waiting to be discovered.

We had a nice picnic by the beach. The place is quiet and we totally loved it. We were able to swim but I guess this is for surfers due to big waves (visited in September)?
Note:
>Yes, beware of the strong current.
>Entrance fee is 50.
>Bring your own food.
>If you are going to ride a tricycle/trike (700 roundtrip), this is quite far from the city and not convenient to go in a trike really. You will have to walk on a steep road for about 10 minutes as the trike cannot transport you directly to the beach. We went on a 4x4 and it cost us 2500 roundtrip. Windy road at some part.
Be safe and have fun!

People die here every year due to the rip which is in the center of the beach, so if there are big waves it is not advisable to swim here. On a calm day the water is crystal clear and you can have a great time swimming. The new road has been constructed and there are many visitors compared to the handful before. Nowadays there are about 10 shacks selling food and drinks. It takes about 45 minutes to reach there from Puerto Princesa and is easy to reach if you rent a motorbike.

How long is the underground river tour. From the time you leave to the entrance of the underground how long does it take to get there. Do we go in deep deep water. The small boats that you in.... are they safe. Do you get life jacket. I would like to do it because it is one of the seven wonders of the world...but I don't like to be in a boat very long especially big sea is not calm

You get a boat for 6 people to the beach where the underground river tour begins. That journey takes about 8 minutes. You then get to the underground river which takes about 45 minutes and you’re in a small boat with 10 people but it was so safe. The boats are designed to have great stability and you have life jackets the whole time and hard hats for inside the cave. It’s definitely worth doing, my friend and I really enjoyed it.

Can we swim at this nagtabon beach. Is it safe. It looks so deserted like nobody goes there. Are there shops nearby etc
Written January 22, 2019
Hey Yasmin,
Yes you can swim here, it’s safe if you are a reasonable swimmer and aware of the dangers.
There can be a strong undertow but if you don’t go to deep into the water you should be fine!
If you do get sucked into the sea just remember to preserve your energy and only swim with the waves and wait for the next one, or wait till the pull weakens and swim to the sides to come back in.
It’s not deserted, it starts to pick up with tourism actually and there is people on the beach each and every day.
It’s still not very busy though, if you are looking for a beautiful relaxing beach to spend a day (or 2) this might be your best spot.
There is 2 populair restaurants, one is on the right side right next to the entrance, the other is on Javares Beachfront, 2nd business on the left.
(I live 2min. from Nagtabon and swim there 4 times a week, don’t worry, you’ll be fine)
Written January 24, 2019
Yes there is.
If you are on a budget:
There is native style cottages at “Javares Beachfront” and at “Sapphire Beach” both located on the left side of the beach entrance. (Inform for both to check what suits your needs and your budget, quality and price differ a lot)
If you have more to spend and want to stay a bit more luxurious:
There is a complete bamboo beach house for rent on the right side of the beach.
I think it’s called “Nagtabon Beach House” Google would help you find it.
If you prefer to have a place with aircon, there is a hostel up the mountain, 2 min. from the beach.
It’s called “B&R Hostel”
If you prefer cellphone signal and internet you’ll have to go a bit back into the barangay where they have a native nipa house for rent. (Search for “Echo Garden” on Airbnb or ask for Dana and Milan)

Wala na po ba dun yun georg's place or pablicos?may pwede po bang pagstayhan dun for few days?
Written March 9, 2018
Sorry for late reply, basically its better to rent a Van and ask for all day rate, or until the sun sets, Nagtabon is an Hour away from the Puerto so it can be pricey. Ask you hotel to book for you for safety.
The resort has no entrance as it is a public area but some barangay rules apply, Benches, cottages and even a room night can be arrange. Look for Ka Dodoongs place, they have a huge Dream catcher strung between tall coconut place as landmark, they are on the left side of the road, after that huge resort. Reasonable rates, they have family cottages too, and basic CR and bathroom facilities. I you're into surfing, they have surf board rentals and Ka Dodongs son is a good surfer to assist you.
They serve little food, only snacks and have a mini store on weekends that serve good halo-halo.
I suggest that passing by the San Jose Market. buy food like rice and fish and squid for grilling and add those huge mussels that are sweetish when grilled. They can do that cooking at Ka Dodongs place, ask his wife, but please pay for the paluto.
The Other option for stay is at the far end of nagtabon, Oliver's Place where you can see a castle tower like structure. They have decent room, food and beach are all for yourselves
Enjoy Nagtabon, just watch everybody on the water as rip tide often occurs,

how much will cost us going there from out home inn? how much po entrance?
Written February 28, 2018
there is no entrance to nagtabon beach. it is an open beach with few kubo cottages you can rent. you will only spend on your transportation, which you can arrange with a multicab or tricycle. bring you own food. nagtabon beach is at least 30 mins from the city depending on your mode of transportation.

Подскажите как организовать поездку для 14 человек из Пуэрто Принцессы на этот пляж? Там есть какие-то кафешки для обеда?
Written February 15, 2018
Er zijn diverse winkeltjes die ook eten en drinken serveren.
Gegrilde kip, vis, garnalen, varken etc.

Sorry for the late answer... No restaurants unfortunately, there is some sari sari on the beach but you can find some food on the area small resort of Javarez beach front, where Dan will receive you with a big kindness (price affordable and good food well cooked) type beach bar - restaurant. It's a peaceful place to eat, to sleep (tent or cottages - 400 till 500 pesos).

Hi. how do you commute back from Nagtabon beach to Rizal? will the tricycle wait for you, or we need to stop another one in Nagtabon? any idea till what time tricycles are operating at night from there?
Written October 9, 2016
That depends on the deal you will have with the tricycle driver, however, our driver waited for us at the beach for more than 4 hours. And we had negiotiated the price for 1000 PHP for the roundtrip, which is very reasonable. :)
