We walked across town to visit here. I work in a brewery back in the UK so was excited to see one in Puerto Princesa. The reviews for the beers looked great. When we got there I was slightly disappointed that the beers I wanted to try were out... The IPA had such a good write up but there was none. I know it’s only a small brewery so it’s hard to always have everything available. Still slightly disappointed though. We had the Palawan Honey Kölsch and the Batak Warrior IPA (imperial). Only in bottles, not sure if they do any on tap? Beers were ok, well brewed in my opinion. Maybe I’ll get to try next time if I visit!

Stopped in here interested in trying some local beers. The lady behind the bar was very knowledgeable and happy to chat about all the beers. Really enjoyed the Palawan lager and the wheat beer - they might not be everyone’s favourite but we enjoyed them and found them both to be easy drinking and a cool relief on a warm day.

Easy to find on Manalo street with a big sign outside.
The bar is in the kubo on the right, up the stairs. It's open until 9pm currently.
There used to be free samples and large bottles, but now no samples and smaller, cheaper bottles. This is good, I think.

The "All-female" owners were born female, yes.

There's room for about 20-24 people with pleasant wooden benches.
There are 4 or 5 different bottles available and a coconut rum. There was a menu of simple snacks to go with the beer, but I did not partake.
Well, the beer? It was exactly the same experience as my other visits, there was 1 good one, 1 undrinkable beer and 2 average ones that did not seem very alcoholic to me. The IPA was very good, with bitter flavour and fine body. It was a little cloudy but tasted good.
The Belgian white was watery and had inappropriate spices in the brew. I could not drink it, it was so poor. Yuk.
The brown ale was below average and watery, it was advertised as 7.2% alcohol. Ahem. Maybe it should be renamed "pants on fire".
There were 2 others but my neighbour had taken the last one. But he said it was "ok".

But of course, you don't expect to find a great real ale brewery in an island called "the last frontier" of Philippines. The whole point is its just a place to visit for tourists and it succeeds in doing that! It's a good experience overall.

They had four beers on tap when I was there - all quite distinct - plus some bottled beer. The bartender was friendly but didn't know too much about the beer itself - it would be nice to have some information available (eg type of hops).
It's a small, quiet bar (in the afternoon anyway, maybe it gets busier at night) away from the main street. There is (of course) a large video screen playing music videos but the volume wasn't too intrusive.

This is a great place to chat to some expats, as they seem to be the main clientele. The trike drivers have no idea so you need to tell them to go to the corner of manalo and valencia. The beers are well done craft beers, at about double the price of a san mig. Cheap compared to OZ, friendly staff, and the coco rum is like malibu on steroids. Give it a go too.

The beer is good tasting with a high alcohol content. I wouldn't buy again to take home as it was poorly packaged in their styrofoam cooler to bring back to Hawaii. They used a minimal amount of bubble wrap for the job and my present for my friend ended up with broken bottles out of 6. Better just to drink there. Save your money.
