These prisoners deserve a second chance in life. They learned a lot from their experiences there and I felt their sincerity when I was there. Hope that guy who was about to go out is enjoying life with his family now.

it's really a prison!instead of being scary,i was so moved seeing the prisoners performing for the visitors and a hope look that the visitors will buy their handicrafts.the serenity coming from rice field and mountains is inversely related to the function of the place.i just...More

We went to Iwahig via tricycle which wasn't a good idea after all. The road to the souvenir shop was very rough and rocky that our tire ran flat. We ended up wasting our precious and limited time waiting for our tires to get fixed....More

The place is run down. Why would anyone want to visit such a place? Shouldn't the people living here be left on their own.

I went to Iwahig prison farm out of curiosity to learn more on how they re-insert prisoners/criminals into society by teaching them how to work and various skills while serving their prison sentence.

It was really a powerful experience to meet inmates and hear their stories. Unlike any other experience I've ever had. I would highly recommend going to see the prison and prisoners and taking time to listen to what they have to say.

I realized i don't know much about my history. Iwahig prison is a very ideal prison. I would like to think that a lot of books were written based on the mechanics and system of this one of a kind prison. It is a very...More

The place is not scary because it does look like just an ordinary farm and not a prison place. Prisoners mingle with the law enforcers inside the penal farm. They were given a chance to experience life that is same as outside the farm.
