The facade looks old and pretty but the inside is very simple and plain. I expected a century old cathedral of gothic or roman design but this is a modern cathedral build in the 20th century.

It' one of the oldest church in Palawan. It was founded by the Order Augustinian Recollect (O.A.R) and is headed by Rev. Bishop Pedro D. Arigo. It is located near Puerto Princesa Port in Taft Street-Rizal Avenue. You can visit the church as early as 5AM and as late as 8PM and has an Adoration Chapel open 24-7. Please be... More

We know the Philippines as a very religious country, but have been impressed to see filled rows and worshippers even outside and around the Cathedral during a mass. During empty times it is nice to have a walk through and explore the small details on walls, banks, windows, etc. Worth a stop if you are in Puerto Princesa. In addition... More

We walked over to this Cathedral one afternoon to check it out. We unfortunately could not go inside as there was a funeral taking place, however, it was neat to see the outside and get a few pictures.

When we stopped there was a funeral in service so we just lit a few candles and wandered around the outside. Just a beautiful old church full of history and part of the community and culture.

and if you have to spent some time between breakfast and dinner, why not have a look at the cathedral. Well, iIt's white painted and flashes up in the sunlight, it has 2 towers but I was not able to climb them... To be honest I was not impressed. But I have to say that I was not impressed with... Nothing out of the ordinary for me, it's a cathedral, albeit bigger than the ones in my province, but it still looks like any other cathedral here in the Philippines

Take a walk around the city walk, it is a pretty church. You can discover the history of the city. I did this walking tour with a Phillipino guy I met, he was telling me all the story of the city and I enjoyed. It is very close to the city walk, so you can go there easily. No need... More
