This was one of the MUST-VISIT places on my Puerto Galera Bucket List. It is a pretty sight indeed and a great spot to take photos of the natural beauty. There isn't anything else to do at the venue except for photo taking. We visited the area just after a rain so no one else was around and we were able to hog the entire waterfall to ourselves for photos.

Be sure to look left and right for incoming vehicles when crossing the road as there is a curb just before the massive Tamaraw Falls rock carving that could be a blind spot for cars and tricycles.

It is a nice ride on the motorbike along the coast to get there. Only the ride there is already worth it. The pools under the falls are nice and cold and with a great view over the forrest. The place needs a upgrade/maintenance, but the pools themselves and the view are very nice.

The local government should look into this, littering is not controlled, access to the falls requires the payment of an entrance fee, food and beverages can be purchased but cleanliness is left at the discretions of the patrons. No garbage area, no dedicated employee to assist and make sure that the area remains clean. We collected our own garbage and had to bring them back with us to Puerto Galera. The falls themselves are divided into three part, one is seen from the road and allows picture taking, then a second area allows swimmers to experience the cold water and relax while taking a drink or something to eat, then finally the third area is accessible through a walkway down to the valley where the falls end...

Land tour of Puerto Galera included this site. It is along the highway and it’s fun to watch and do a photo op. It has a Tamaraw statue - which is interesting since there’s no way to see it any other way. I think it’s on the brink of extinction.

Public toilet available- P5/P10/ P20 Shower.

P30/ person to take a swim at the pool on the bottom of the falls. Sandy uneven pool floor…

Restaurant on site P220/ meal.

Tamaraw falls is located alongside the road going to Puerto Galera proper. It is nice to stop by and take some photos. Though the falls looks nice, the water at the basin is not clear, it is even brownish but I believe it is because it's rainy season when we visit.
There is an entrance fee of Php30 when you want to go downstream where they have picnic areas and better space for swimming.

Those saying that the waterfall was boring most probably did not explore the area in its entirety.

Entrance is only PhP 30 and you can get access to the man-made waterfall and pool (which are both a little mossy, skip those) as well as the waterfall at the lower level.

You would have to go down steep stairs, but it's all worth it. The place is very quiet as not everyone ventures to the lower waterfalls. The place is great for pictures and for a little swimming.

Going to the lower waterfalls is not ideal for kids or people who have difficulty going down/up steep stairs.

The food is ok, but examine your bill carefully before paying.

While staying and diving in Puerto Galera, we were able to take some time off to visit this waterfall. It is located about 30 minute ride from the town and best go there by jeepy ride. The waterfall is scenic and there is pool below the bridge allowing travelers to cool down and relax in. There is a small entry fee to the pool area. Due to our diving schedules, we were not able to actually use the pools but the scenery is well worth the ride. Lots of photographic opportunity here and opportunity to recharge your soul.

It wasnt that great. Stopped for about 15 minutes just to snap a few pics. No swimming allowed at the bottom of where the water falls but you are allowed to swim at the other side where there is a pool kinda water fall. The view to the water falls was amazing!

If you´ve never seen a waterfall before, you will probably get excited, but for most of us it is not a first encounter. As with other excursions it is the whole trip itself that makes it worthwhile. For that reason you should rent a scooter and enjoy the breathtaking views along the road, but try to avoid the weekends which are overcrowded at not a pleasant time to visit the falls.

if you get tired lazing on the beach or the water sports then take a tour of Puerto Galera's other attractions. One of which is Tamaraw waterfalls. Just don't expect too much. They are neither high, have huge amounts of water crashing down nor particularly beautiful.
The upper and lower parts of the falls are separated by the main road. Were it not for the signs and the ubiquitous vendor stalls, you could drive right past. The lower part of the falls have a couple of small pools in which swimming is permitted. There is naturally an onsite restaurant and gift shop.
Literally 5 minutes at the place and you will have seen all there is to see. Worth a look but don't expect to be wowed !
