It is located in Camalig, Albay. There’s a guide where he will explain you everything about the cave. But there’s a fee, If my memory serves right, I think it’s P300 whether you’re single or in a group. Anyway it was worth it as you will learn many things about the history of the cave and its recent development. Sort of like you’re in a Geology class. The guide is kind and knowledgeable. He said they undergo continuous training from a geologist. This is more enjoyable than the Puerto Princesa Underground River because you will explore the cave through your own feet, not by riding a boat. There are some challenges because you will pass through some path that have very small openings or very low ceilings. I’m a history and nature buff so I appreciated it. It was fun and a learning experience. If you're visiting Legazpi City, you should consider this one.

Hoyop-hoyopan Cave is about 10 miles southwest of Legazpi City. After visiting Casagwa Ruins it’s about a 20 minute ride through some dense jungle on a nicely paved road. We stopped here on our way to Donzol. The entrance has an interesting sign stating that dating is prohibited (see attached photo).

HHC is a multi-level cavern of natural limestone that was discovered during WW2. The caved was used as a resistance hide out. It’s named after the word “hoyop” or breeze. You can easily accomplish the short 1 hour tour in shorts and sneakers, a full tour will require 11 hours and a considerable amount of effort. Cost 130 php and another 200-300 php to turn on the lights, the cave is privately owned with several family relatives or friends conducting the tour.

Your guide will point out a lot of interesting formation and provide a wealth of history of the area. This cave is cool and easily traversed with pavement on the major attractions. The cave has numerous shallow pools, mineral deposits, rock formations, large chambers, stalactites and stalagmites.

Too preserve this place, I hope in the future they limit construction of cement walk ways and stop tourist from touching all the features. In most caves in the US, they prohibit touch and limit construction of cement walkways as it has adverse effects to the formations.

The link below has a great write-up and additional photos.

Highly recommended: It is extremely interesting and a great way to cool off.

Our guide made all the difference. The cave was quite simple and not that great if you compare it to bigger caves all over the Philippines but there were plenty of cool facts from the tour guide that was insightful and made the tour quite fun. You have to use your imagination to see some of the formations inside. It seems like the cave wasn't maintained that well but it used to be or still is a popular filming location. FPJ used to film his action movies here and inside the cave is where people used to have dance parties (there are actual dancefloors and steps) and hide during the time of Marcos.

There's this cave in Albay called Hoyop Hoyopan. Hoyop means blowing of air. This is a suggestion of a friend to have this cave as part of our tour of Legazpi City. I went to this cave by myself , travelled around 45 minutes to Camalig via jeepney. Then from Camalig market, I took a special tricycle. Fortunately, the tricycle driver was already familiar with the place as he takes a lot of tourists there. It was a 5 km ride and I enjoyed the scenery. The road was paved. There's a vantage point to see Mt Mayon in its fullness. Going to the cave was an uphill walk which was a knee killer. There's a portion of this cave where cool air blows strong and it 's so refreshing. There were amazing stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave. Our imagination would tell us there's formation which looked like a hand, an elephant , angel wing etc. The guide cost me Php300 and trike for Php200, not bad at all as the experience was memorable. It was an adventure and nature is always amazing.

There is a strong gust of wind in Hoyop Hoyopan cave. You can enter the caves at a cheap rate of 10 pesos if you have a flashlight. If you want a detailed "history" and some stories about the rick formations you can hire a tour guide for 300 pesos. The caves are amazing and the fourth entrance has a grand view of Mayon Volcano

Before you start the tour, there is a small hill where you can buy some quartz and souvenirs from the locals which they got from caves and mountains and they look very charming. And once you actually start the tour, it will look very dark but the tour guide does have a flashlight (don't worry). The cave has many different stories about the different parts of the cave that will surely interest you! It's slightly muddy so make sure you wear some shoes that are suitable for muddy and damp places. Also there are chances when you may slip so be extra careful. And there are tight and small places that you really have to squeeze your body into, lastly, the ceiling is very low so you have to watch your head! It can really leave a bruise. The tour guide was very knowledgable and you'll surely enjoy the tour.

Been here 24 yrs ago, basically the same, but now there are guides to explain and show the different stalactites and stalagmites formations. They made some stairs and small pathways so that tourist can walk inside comfortably. Fee is 50pesos, parking is 25 pesos.

The cave name is Hoyop hoyopan, according to those who live there it means whisper, because it seems like wind is whispering to your ear. True enough, when me and my friends were inside, the wind is very refreshing, it feels good and relaxing.

Inside the cave there are a lot of rock formation from stalactites at stalagmites.
The tour guide is friendly and he takes photos of us while inside the cave.
He explained each formation very detailed.

We found out that inside the cave, it used to have a "disco" well, it really has a dance floor.
I guess it has the best sound system :))

We have the cave all to ourselves and the tour guide was very accommodating and knowledgeable. It wasn't as good as the underground river in Palawan but it was a unique experience nonetheless. My daughter was looking forward for the bats but I guess they were all tired and hibernating. Some of the rock formation were captivating as well as the crystals. It was also naturally cool/ventilated inside (I was surprised), thought it would be very hot and cramp. It was a good experience, only downside was it was raining when we came out of the cave and can not see the Mayon volcano on the horizon. Would have been really perfect if it wasn't.

We incorporated visiting this cave with the Quitinday Hills experience. Compared to many other caves I've seen eg: Jenolan Caves, Sydney and Thien Cung Cave Halong Bay, this particular cave is not all that interesting in my opinion.

A guide comes well recommended. Tells many a good story and helps you understand the history. Little-average fitness levels required (the walk up the hill from the car park area is as much out of breath as you will become).

Avoid the stall for overpriced souvenirs at the caves exit! Ensure you wear shoes with good grip as the rocks surface can become very slippery.

Allocate 45-60 minutes for this 'take it or leave it' attraction.
