Tembi rumah budaya is a very nice place to visit. There is a museum showing a bit about Indonesia's history and culture. You can learn more about Indonesia's traditional clothing, toys and furniture.
Tembi is also a homestay. They have traditional Javanese huts where you can stay and when you are feeling hot, they have a nice and cool swimming pool. The swimming pool is public so you may wwant to swim when there are less visitors.
There is also a restaurant with pretty good Indonesian food but if you want real Indonesian food it may be better to eat at small food carts or shops where the locals eat.
Overall the place is a nice place where you can relax and enjoy the view of rice fields surrounding the place. You can also learn how to plant rice in the ricefields and if you want to tour around nearby villages, there are bikes that you can rent .

It's a beautiful cultural complex. The collection in the museum is dedicated to Javanese culture. The restaurant also serves Javanese dishes as well as juices. You can walk around the bungalows set in a beautiful garden and dip in the swimming pool as well, even if you don't stay in the hotel.

A beautiful group of buildings in a beautiful setting.
The colection of the museum is not too big but quite nice: Gamelan, kris, furnitures, wayang puppets.
There are two galleries on the two sides with temporary exhibitions.
There is a bigger restaurant with nice Javanese food and a smaller, a so-called Ankringan with simplier Javanese food.
You can use the beautiful pool looking at the rice-fields from 9 am till 6 pm for 25.000Rp.

It is located outside the city of Yogyakarta, where you can have a peaceful gateaway far from noise & hectic life and you can spend most of your times here to enjoy nature, nearby local craftsmanships & local foods. This place is actually a resort with around 8 - 10 cottages, different sizes, facilities & prices. It also facilitates with outbound for family (kids also) & shuttle bus to Malioboro & airport.

Good menu that is supposedly based on the ancient Serat Centhini recipes with local herbs and produce :)
had lunch and dinner here several times and enjoyed each of them. Menu changes regularly but some of the staples such as rawon and pecel is a standby.

Been there again after a couple years. Still got a magnificent view and atmosphere. I was just eating at their restaurant (not stayed at the cottage) but it was still great. Lot of photo spots and great food also. Unfortunately they're running out of ice at the moment so we can't order their ice menu..

Great place to stay as javanese consept for rent the houses and rooms, start from $60. Lovely food (nasi goreng, bakmi goreng) and the snack (tempe), food is really cheap as good resort $2-4. You should try but asked them not to put chili (sambal).
The public swiming pool you can rent for rp18.000 ($1,5). The restville view is awezome. I love that place and at day time always empty. But the swiming pool to small but i still enjoyed ;)
