The building, facade, and interior are representing modern, natural, and ethnic style which is very great for an art and culture museum. All the collections are still in a good shape and well maintained. Every group of approximately 10 or more people are guided with 1 personal tour guide, helps the visitors immersing Javanese viscous culture. Such a great visit... More

I visited this museum with my wife without any expectation. Finished with our Lava Tour in Merapi, we're looking for slow and relaxing agenda. And this museum seems to fit the bill. And it does, and more! Being ran by private collectors, I think this museum is one of the best I've ever visited in Indonesia. Its collections mainly are... More

A short pictorial journey through the history of Yogyakarta. The place is built like a cave and has generous contributions of personal mementos from the royal families that form the history of Yogyakarta and nearby kingdoms

Join an English guided tour and enjoy stories from Sultans court. We liked the stories of beautiful princess who broke the traditions bravely and lived their own way.

Ullen Sentalu is the best museum in Jogja. They provide complete family tree of Keraton Jogja and Solo monarchy. Their painting collections and traditional batik collections are awesome. You will get new knowledge about Javanese tradition and history. The museum architecture is like a labyrinth, feels like adventure, you will be amaze. Unfortunately you can’t take any photo’s here, except... More

I went via uber bike just to see if they would do it. And the driver did! We negotiated a price for the way back. You need about an hour to an hour and a half for the place and you can only do it by your. Interesting Central Java history, loved it. You walk from room to room while... More

This is quite a way out of the city for the amount of time you spend here. The museum itself has good exhibits but focussing almost entirely on the royal family portraits. The tour guide is compulsory and only every half hour so we waited 20 minutes on arrival before setting off. The guide was fine but many things were... More

After visiting this place 1 year ago, I returned to this place hoping to get the same level of excitement and information. However it turned out all wrong Last year i kinda got a quality visit because the guide was only guiding the 4 of us. This year the guide was guiding like 20 of us that i cant even... More
