Many stalls provide foods, groceries, traditional cakes, meats, etc.
It's recommended to visit in early morning (around 6 or 7 am) to see the lively market. Bring yourself to explore this oldest market, to see the local people and explore foods.
My favorite traditional cake is Kembang Waru, a buttery one.

The Pasar Legi Kotagede is a typical large traditional marketplace in Yogyakarta. The Marketplace has msny sellers as well as buyers for various types of merchandise: fruits, vegetables, meats, clothing, snack foods, furniture, and many more items can be found here. This place serves as a "one-stop shop" for local folks to buy anything that they might need. An interesting and colorful place to visit to become acquainted with local life in this rural area.

This local market is huge with many stalls inside. You can find many fresh vegetables and daily supplies here, and many local snacks are selling here too. It is an good experience to visit this place as to interact with the locals.

Not one of the cleanest pasar in Jogjakarta area. It was quite dirty, especially the toilets. Containers outside with rotten fruit and vegetables.
