I had a lovely walk around ancol today. 25000 to get in here. I walked from all around this area including this beach area and it's nice to people watch and see how the locals of Jakarta enjoy the beach. Although I would not swim here as it's not that nice it's still nice to go here.

If you want to smell good fresher I would recommend to stop over here. There is a good white sand, swimming pool , boat and best view of Java see. It has also some artwork with similarities of natural ones.

please don't go to this place in the middle of the day. It is very hot and no treetop alike umbrella.

If you are making a trip only in Jakarta, then you can visit this beach. There are many restaurants which are waiting to serve you there.

If u like beaches then this one of the closest and nice place to visit in jakarta. If u go in the morning then you may get a chance to get fresh seafood from the fisherman with a good bargain.

i still remember ancol years ago. i can say ancol improved, cleaner and better
there are many food shop around and the beach (play area) not so big but still good.
even i see some small fish, green clam, and little crab there.
good place to walk and a little play with your child/ young brother/sister

Maybe is because of the only beach in Jakarta. The beach pool is totally crowded by thousands of visitors.
Place was full of rubbish and the water look polluted by some activities such as boat riding, jetski etc... And i saw a lot of people fishing there although there is a sign said fishing is not allowed.
There is a lot of restaurant such as the bridge at the centre of the beach pool and unfortunately it was fully booked for dinner and we heading to other restaurant (Mcdonalds, A&W) at the beach and is also fully seated. And we had to take out the food and eat at the sidewalk.
Overall, is nothing special except crowded. And don't go on weekends !

Jakarta doesn't offer memorable beaches..so do not think to go to Ancol for sunbathing and swimming.
The place is not clean enough and a bikini is not appropriate.

If you really miss the beach atmosphere in jakarta, you may visit ancol beach pool. Well my 3 y.o son was so happy playing w/ his sand toys in ancol beach pool. Try to choose the weekdays over the weekends so that you can have a car park and its not gonna be so crowded. Place was fun and you can breath the ocean air.
