Wildlife seen was amazing. Many orangutans, lost count, various types monkeys, many different types of birdlife, monitor lizards, and more. The guides were diligent in looking for wildlife, they were extremely helpful. The food was excellent, tasty and plenty of it. Garry Sudin thought of everything to make this tour exceptional. The talks each day by Leif Cocks were the icing on the cake. Would do this again and intend to.

We have just returned from a fantastic trip organised by Garry from Orangutan Odysseys. We wanted to see the orangutans in Kalimantan so we visited Tanjung Putin National Park and we did not only see them there but also went to the Palangkaraya area where we saw them as well. We travelled there by boat and the boats in itself were so beautiful especially when you are the only 2 guests on the boat like we were with our first tour on the klotok. The crew was magnificent and the food was exceptional! We saw many orangutans, some mothers with babies on their backs, some big males with their long coats, we saw youngsters playing around and also saw proboscis monkeys, long tailed macaques and gibbons. After our time with the orangutans we flew to Floris to see the Komodo dragons which meant another magnificent 3 day boat tour where we snorkelled, saw the beautiful coral and tropical fish, swam with the manta rays and the turtles and saw the komodo dragons! We experiences the crystal clear blue waters from Flores and the superb views of this exceptional beautiful island. We continued with a 4 day road trip from west to east Flores and visited the crater lakes at Mount Kelimutu. All our guides during these 20 days spoke excellent english, had intimate knowledge of the area, bent over backward to please and made our trip an unforgettable one. To everyone involved, Garry, Alice, our tour guides, the boat crews and the people behind the scenes that made it all happen, a big thank you from both of us making our 50th wedding anniversary so special.

Our trip for four organised by Gary and his team was wonderful throughout.
We had a three day boat trip to visit Orangutans and then a further three day trip to visit Comodo Island and the surrounding areas.
The local support team and guides were excellent, knowledgeable and friendly.
The viewing experiences were great, it was a privelage to see these orangutans up close.
We had three vegetarians and a meat eater and we were all well catered for!
The food prepared just for us daily on the boats were a real treat and exceeded our expectations.
The various hotels booked to cover our movements from place to place ensured we were comfortable throughout and our three days spent visiting Comodo Island and the surrounding area by boat was also a memorable experience.
A very special trip.

Just returned from another great trip with Orangutan oddesseys.
This time i went to Laos to the Elephant Conservation centre, it was amazing we had Michael Falshaw answering all our questions about the work that they are doing with the breeding programme and the release site.
I learnt so much and it makes you released that we all need to do more to try to save them from coming extinct in Laos.
I love the fundraising tours as you get a conservationist with you on tour and it makes it extra special, I love learning about the elephants and it makes you realised that we need to do more to save them!
We did abit of sightseeing and some activities too which was great! Took me out my comfort zone!
I would definitely recommend booking a trip with Orangutan oddesseys and I can't wait to see more tours.

This was a ‘return trip’ for me. I last visited Kalimantan, Flores and the Komodo National Park in 2011, and noticed with sadness the expansion of Palm Oil, and tourism resulting in less ‘evident’ wildlife.
However, with Orangutan Odyssyes, this was a special visit, and I was so happy that we (just one friend and myself) were contributing to an organisation dedicated to saving these amazing animals.
We had the boats to ourselves and they, together with the small canoes were fairly non-invasive and mostly I think we were viewed as a curiosity. The food was excellent, being vegan I was well catered for. The teams on the boats and on land were lovely, and we both felt so well looked after, by them and Gary (via phone) who was always checking on us.
So worth doing this, such an amazing trip and supporting a really worthy charity.

Thank you Linda. We were thrilled to plan this amazing adventure for you both. Seeing the deforestation is certainly alarming. We continue to raise awareness for the plight of the orangutan and raise desperately needed funds through our tours. We won't ever stop advocating for these unique and majestic creatures!
Hope we see you again one day. OO

We've spent 4 days / 3 nights at the Danum Valley Field Center. The conversations with Gary and Alice prior to our trip have been lovely and really helpful. Denny, our personal guide, was so motivated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We did several day and night walks through the rainforest, a night ride on a pickup and a we watched the rainforest come to life on a sunrise tour. During our trip we saw plenty of wildlife like orang utans and other primates, birds, reptiles, frogs, spiders and of course plenty of leeches. The vegan food that we've requested was delicious. All in all we've been really happy with Orangutan Odysseys and would recommend them without reservations.

They delivered more than expected. The trip leader Gary left no one wanting and Leif Cocks informed us well. We saw 30 orangutans over 7 days on 3 river cruise sections. Food was excellent and accomodation was suitable to the trip type.

Being part of the inaugural tour with Orangutan Odysseys to visit the Elephant Conservation Center in Laos was a fabulous experience. Travelling with three experts involved on the ground in elephant conservation was an absolute privilege. The group questioned Alex, Michael and Leif relentlessly throughout the trip, they welcomed our interest and were happy to share their knowledge with us. We all learnt so much about the many challenges faced by elephants across Asia.
And then there was the majestic elephants themselves - what an awesome experience to ethically share some time with them, and learn more about plans to improve the welfare outcomes for both wild and captive populations in Laos.
There was also plenty of time to share some fun activities, and learn more about the culture and history of this stunningly beautiful country.
The team at Orangutan Odysseys were great, as were the local guides, everyone ensuring we all enjoyed a great holiday. The accommodation was perfect, the food never ending and delicious, and the group was great fun.
I highly recommend a tour with Orangutan Odysseys and their conservation experts. I will certainly be travelling with them again.

We went with a group of 12 people all coming from around the globe and it all went so smoothly. We did about 5 days in Kalimantan and another 7 days or so in Northern Sumatra. It involved multiple flights, drives and boat rides and Garry and the Orangutan Odyssesys Team set everything up so that all we had to do was enjoy our trip and explore the natural beauty of Indonesia.
We saw so many animals including the main animal we went to see, the orangutan! We also saw probiscus monkeys, thomas leaf monkeys, gibbons, macaques, horn-bills, and numerous other birds. One of our favorite days included visiting a Dayak village and participating in a welcome ceremony. We also had the opportunity to plant trees in the Leuser Ecosysem and visit a school to meet some great local kids. Our accomidations were cabins, tents, boats, and lodges. All the meals were delicious and you feel truly taken care of with the guides and staff everywhere. You fell like family by the time you leave. Garry has connections all over the country and creates such a special experience.
The beauty of taking a trip with Orangutan Odysseys is that your trip will help support thier continued effort to save the forests and save the orangutan. They provided our family with one of the greatest experience of our lives and I give my full recommendation to this company and all its employees.

Thank you for your great review. We love to give people an experience like no other.
What a trip this was!!
Action packed and full of purpose- to protect the orangutan. It was great to share this experience with you and your family. We look forward to what the future has in store for the Kid Conservationist and hope we can get together again in the jungle to continue our shared mission of saving the orangutan from extinction.
Wishing you all the very best!
