Chinese Building!
Nov 2019
This place is near the China town in central Jakarta. This is a very old building where some Chinese Major used to live and the government of Indonesia preserved this building.

Heritage building, major house, past meet with present
Mar 2018 • Family
Surrounding by tall building, Chandra Naya looks like a hidden gem. This building was an old house of the last Batavia Chinese Major, Khouw Kim An. Because of its uniqueness, the government preserved a third of the major's house and set it as a heritage building. While another part of major's house was changed into restaurants and hotel. While strolling around this building, you can find some of Chinese philosophies.

Professional photography is not allowed here but you can take pictures by using your smartphone.

Old Chines- Indonesian Heritage Building with an impressive Coffe Shop cum Restaurant
Jul 2018 • Solo
This building is a Chinese-Indonesian heritage building located just behind the Novotel Hotel Jakarta Gajah Mada on Jalan Gajah Mada, Glodok, West Jakarta. The Main Heritage Building is a former residence of the Oei family, a Chinese -Indonesian ethnic community family. On the left hand side Annex building is a Restaurant cum Coffee House, specializing in Kopi Oei, a specially blended Coffee which was established by the Oei family more than 90 years ago.On the right- hand side Annex there is a small shrine for worshipping ng of Chinese deities and also 2 other food establishments that are not as popular or high in profile as Chandra Nairobi, the Oei Family Coffee Shop on the left-hand dude Annex Building.would recommend visiting this heritage building complex for both the heritage aspect and the food served at the CandraNaur Kopi Oei Restaurant.

Well preserved historical building
Apr 2018 • Family
The location is a bit tricky because apparently the building is literally located inside/in the middle of Novotel hotel area. So you have to go inside Novotel and park your vehicle there.

The building was once a house of a Chinese mayor and also known as "Mayor's house". It's so Chinese authentique and all the ornament details are beautiful. There's no furniture inside just an empty house probably still used/rented for some occasions. Worth to take some pictures.

There's also fish pond outside.

Meeting point for China Town Walking Tour
Apr 2018 • Friends
Its hidden under biggie buildings (hotel) and cant believe there is a heritage building with a small coffee shop besides.
It's actually once of the richest Chinese people residence in Batavia that still existed until today. A lot of changes for the interior but still the exterior building looks very authentic.

Old house, Chinese Philosophy
Mar 2018 • Family
It was an old house that was built in 1807. This house belonged to The Khouw Family. This house was preserved and located in one are with Novotel.

Visiting this place will bring you back to the old time, since all the architecture was an old architecture. Inside this house, there are lots of Chinese Philosophies statements that are hung on the wall.

If you are around this area, we suggest you to visit Chandra Naya. But remember that taking pictures with professional camera is not allowed (only camera from smartphone that is allowed).
