I was visiting Candra Naya on January 2016 when my colleagues decided to have a lunch at one of the restaurants that was located in it. The building was nice and elegant with traditional Chinese elements on it. If you want to have some sort of traditional Chinese theme in your selfies complete with red lantern and lotus pond, Candra... More

It was a big house of a Chinese soldier long time ago. Currently it is listed as heritage building based on the age of the building, some history and unique architecture style. Close surrounding buildings are new facilities and an international chain hotel.

I visited Candra Naya on March 2016. I used Jakarta's commuter line and stopped at Sawah Besar station. Then i walk across the street to ride a car with number 12 (M12; the route is Senen-Kota). Make sure you're heading to Kota. Just tell the driver to stop at Novotel Gajah Mada. I paid four thousand rupiah from Sawah Besar... More

If you're into history, this old building (original building) now under a massive structure is worth visiting. A piece of old Batavia

An ancient building that is well preserved. THe history of the house itself was quite a story. The place was a good place for taking pictures of old buildings. They were also connected to convenience store and a well known hotel. That made the place conveniet for tourists.

Went to the Novotel Hotel Gajah Mada for business meeting, found that the hotel was built around the old Candra Naya building. It was house of Chinese major (community leader) of Batavia during Dutch times. Built in traditional Chinese architecture, it is now mostly empty except for the O La La Cafe in one of the side buildings. More displays... More

I was originally headed to the 7/11 store nearby then an oddly placed building, one with an architecture feature from distant past, surrounded exactly by modern skyscrapers. It has some cafe's that I haven't had the chance to try on the sides, a pond filled with colorful fishes right behind it, and a little mixture of a mini museum and... More

Small Chinese temple, worth seeing if you are around, the location and the way it is made is nice, but nothing special about the place
