MONAS serves as Indonesia's National Monument but fails to live up to ita expectations. The area surrounding the monument is large and open, but the entrance to the compound is hard to find as the entire monument is fenced off. Getting to the monument involves...More

Being from Eastern Europe, the monument looks very soviet to me. The entrance is not very expensive, it's 5K to museum and 10K to go to the top. There are queues to take the elevator as it's small, 7-8 people at a given time. It's...More

Right in the heart of the city center of Jakarta's largest round about is this wonderful structure possibly 30 mtrs high. Highlights the city buildings, around but looks so much better at night times when it is lit up.

They have a very huge field which is usually used for jogging or to make some event. There is observatorium that you can use to see the city of Jakarta, which you have to pay a fee.

The place is good. However most people that come to the place are middle to low. They like to sit on the grass and litter. Other than that, it is a good place to visit

On a very hot day we decided to look at the monument and walk through the park. That was really worth it! In a food stall you could get cheap food. In the park there were many beautiful plants and animals (deer) to admire. It...More

Perhaps best to visit at night as it is more cooler and the monument will look more splendid with lights. A good place to visit to learn about the history.

If you wait for the little transportation bus they have when you enter; it will take you directly to where you have to enter. Great place to go to see and read about Indonesian history and it's struggle for independence.
