The size and appearance of this monument is much more striking in person and I never expected to be as impressed with it as I was.

Really good monument with great views of the city. Well worth spending time on the ground floor where the excellent diarama displays explain the history of Indinesia.

We had limited time in Jakarta and hired a car to tour the top sites. We did a drive around the Monument, mosque, cathedral, and old town/museum. Able to get the must have photos while navigating traffic.

This monument stands out as a highlight in the city and is a magnificent feature. The marble and gold makes it quite regal.

If you wait for the little transportation bus they have when you enter; it will take you directly to where you have to enter. Great place to go to see and read about Indonesian history and it's struggle for independence.
