It's a must see. My challenge was the long ques because it was crowded when I got there. there is an elevator to go to the top, but I did not go up because of the long wait time.

I first visited MONAS 14 years ago. Very refreshing to see how it has been preserved since then. Moving food and souvenir stalls into a dedicated area has liberated the grounds from business traffic. It finally celebrates the freedom the monument is meant to uphold....More

Excellent monument whose construction was delayed due to to a economic crisis 40 years ago. But is now a testimony of the perseverance and pride of the Indonesians, Sprawling grounds, well maintained lawns and gardens, cldean and uncluttered. A place you cannot miss in Jakarta.

If you wait for the little transportation bus they have when you enter; it will take you directly to where you have to enter. Great place to go to see and read about Indonesian history and it's struggle for independence.
