This was impressive the first time we visited, boring the second. Our 3-year-old son loved running past the huge boats and leaping off gangplanks. The sailors were friendly, and it was nice to see (a very dirty, ship-filled) stretch of sea at the end. The boats are fascinating, and you can pay for a tour of a boat or a... More

The harbour has nothing to see except the Museum Bahari. The harbour area is completely demolished by the gov't for the Sunda Kelapa Port program in April 2016. The whole area is going to revamp for tourist development. Behind the harbour, you will see a slum area which is very deteriorated, and was densely populated, where the houses were in... More

I visited this harbour just because we drove by and I would not recommend a special visit to it. You can see to old ways of shipping products and see old ships, but it is not that exciting. There is nothing else to do then just take a walk.

This very dusty working wharf harbours beautify boats from Makasa. Still loaded by hand it a fascinating glimpse at times past. You can get a small boat ride through the Habour Kampong from here. We didn't but it would be fascinating and hope to do it another time. Its a photographers delight and possibly best at either end of the... More

The harbour is a bit run down and scary nowadays. It's an interesting experience getting there through the busy traffic and very poor parts of town. You have to pay a little bit to enter, but if you're in the area it's interesting to look around for a little bit.

wandering around the old port watching life on board of the shooners is truly an experience to be done. Even nowadays these impressive ships are used to transport goods and people around the archipelago and thus the life that flows around is hectic with trucks coming and going and boats that run around while the the fishing village is in... Spent a day visiting museums and other interesting places in Jakarta. The harbour was very interesting and gave a very realistic view of the harsh conditions that the Indonesian sea faring workers have to contend with. Many of the wooden boats were in a desperate condition, maintenance was talking place on some with workers taking their lives in the ir... More

This location should be seen by tourist. A lot of old schooner in this free harbor. it is amazing to see the business there. Ok for me was this the second trip to the Sunda Kelapa Harbour because I was a sailor to in the older past, so I'm very interested on this local harbor. Who will have not so... More

This part of town is recommanded in our traffic guide so we decided to pay a visit. There is not much to see however. A lot of nice old boats and you can have a view on the water. But that is all it has to offer. The entrance is IDR 2.500 per person (when you are walking). Some men... More
