I'm a big fan of park in the city. Always enjoy it to visit the park, sit down, bring the book with my cigar, and happy looking at the people in the park.
Suropati park is located in center of Jakarta pusat, surrounded by historical places, museums, old housing complex.
The park is just a good size in the middle of the city. Good place to get some fresh air, could take some jogging and do some exercising, do some small musical practice, etc.
Like this park, recommended to stop by and enjoy the green view for a moment. Cheers!

This is the best option to spend your weekend gettaway. You can do activities such as relaxing, exercise with friends or family or just walking down in park area. This is one of the best park in Jakarta with quaint green environment concept. Great ambience . Unfortunately, no public services like toilet, parking area. Local Government must concern about this matters. #QuaintGreenSpace

Small park where people go to walk, meet, do yoga, etc. We went there because it’s a great spot for Pokemon GO 🤓

This Taman is just 10 minutes away fram the place I live, Menteng Area. I always vosot Taman when I want some fresh air. I used to meet mey friends here and make some pictures. I bring in my bicycle and sometime order coffee from a coffe-bicycles there. I met my old friend in the Taman when he go jogging in the morning. Many times I bring my dear grand daughter to this Taman just for fun ride of bicycle. Surrounding the Taman ara National Development Body, House of Vice President, Amabassador of the USA, House of Governor Jakarta, Taman Lembang and some other government official. I was lucky once to meet musician who train himself playing violin. Once I was interviewed by a TV personnel about the issuance of a regulation. This place is good for meeting place among cyclists. Would you com to Taman Suropati for fresh air?

So far the greenest spot in the heart of Jakarta. Have a jogging track, clean with beautiful landscape! Surrounds with historical architecture houses & buildings. Everyday passing by this park due the location between my house & office, just never get bored!

I've been here billions on times since I was a kid and this park is still my favorite park in Central Jakarta. Very cozy and people could just sit around in the park for hours.

Taman Suropati is one of Jakarta's cleanest park and located in the heart of the city. It is a great place to exercise (jog, taichi, etc), find street food, or as simple as hanging out with friends.

I personally like to visit Taman Suropati at night because it is lively and breezy. One of the street food stalls, named Nasi Gila Gondrong (fried rice), is a must-have!

A small city park encircled by busy roads in the center of Jakarta. Definitely worth visiting, if you stay in Jakarta for some time& Best time to visit is Sunday morning. At 7f.v. starts Yoga class for everyone, at about 8 a.m. rock bands start entertaining, at about 10 a.m. kids musical school perform - violin concerts, classical music concerts.
Street vendors sell hot food at any times, artists and musicians give free classes. Small kids can blow bubbles ( always at sale) or be photoed with a snake/giant lizard (occasionally). At election time the park is used as a voting spot! Never boring. Drawbacks: a lot of noise from the street traffic ( motorbikes).
Sometimes you can see a fireshow in the evening

Taman Suropati is located in Menteng, not very far from any other attractions in Central Jakarta. It has very fresh air and becomes the best park, especially in Sunday morning. You can see a lot of people exercising and doing Yoga together (7am-8am), even you can join it. Sometimes you may find a group of young people play music (violin, flute).

Moreover, there are a lot of pigeons in this park. The government built the pigeon houses to keep them in this park. Yup, it's romantic enough.

Feel thirsty? You can have various type of Indonesia drinks from the 'bicycle troopers', the seller that cycling around to offer their products (drinking). Dont worry, it's clean and cheap.

Burgemeester Bisschopplein it was once called, the park is part of Menteng's masterplan for garden suburb of old Batavia and is marketed for the European. Around this part there is plenty of colonial villas, one which is transformed into governor's resident and also modernist colonial church, the best are villas with art deco architecture (which you can notice from the curve and sleek design). Menteng's landscape are rapidly changing, it was once a peaceful suburb but now many of its street are transformed into commercial areas and its old beautiful houses reduced to rubble for development or modification, its humanity's greatest crime to destroy these old beautiful architecture. However Menteng still retained that "garden city" feel with all the gorgeous lined trees and comfortable park, i enjoyed my bike stroll and catching a glimpse of occasional somewhat magnificent old villas around this area. Well this is not exactly a tourist destination, but it would do for a break of 10-20 min and watch the day pass by. If you happen to arrive there in the afternoon, the park is slightly busier and hawker would start popping up serving some of Jakarta's best delicacies!

Ohhh and one more thing, if you happen to pass by Menteng go to Cut Mutiah mosque and Kuntskring Paleis if you like architecture, since both of these building are designed by famed Dutch architect. Cut Mutiah mosque is former office for architecture company who designed Menteng, but its accessible for non-Muslim as well and all you have to do is ask permission.
