My first experience with him to Mount Lembu is a short trekking but he always provided similar to professional trekking. It's really enjoyable trip with Climb Indonesia. Mr. Taufen knows the location really well. Mr.Taufen's English is exceptional. Mr.Taufen also reads the guest - how fast or slow we can go. Due to traveling in COVID, Mr.Taufen is fully equipped with rapid test. He also wears the mask throughout the trip and keep social distancing. I really admire his professional while humble.
I have been trekking in Indonesia more than 15 times with 10 agencies. Climb Indonesia is one of the top 3 I strongly recommend.

Seram is one of the wildest, most remote and ecologically interesting parts of Indonesia. Although there is a recognised trek across this large, rugged island it appears that it is undertaken by visitors only rarely. Apparently treks from the south coast to Gunung Binaiya, the highest mountain in Maluku Province (at 3027m), are not common, but treks from the south coast to the north coast via Gunung Binaiya are extremely rare (the visitor register in the village of Kanikeh indicated we were only the 5th group to pass through there since 2013).
I can say this is one of the most memorable and probably the toughest of the many treks I have ever undertaken. It took place over 6 days starting at the village of Piliana near the South coast, at around 400m above sea level, to the north coast at just above sea level. While we only covered only about 50-60km, there was a lot of up and down. Probably the best part of the trek was its diversity of landscapes and ecosystems. Montane, sub- montane, thick jungle, swampy, rocky/muddy, cold/wet etc. There was also a good balance in terms of sleeping, with two nights spent in the villages of Piliana and Kanikeh and all others spent camping or using one of the basic huts at various camp sites. Given the wild environment, I think it is fair to say that myself and my two friends were surprisingly comfortable. The guides and porters worked hard to set up these campsites and make them comfortable, as well as provide us with food which for the most part was good and tasty. If you prefer to do more of the camp management and pack carrying yourself then you should clarify this with CI beforehand.
After the trek we spent three days relaxing in the beautiful Sawai Bay area, with some trips to some stunning islands, snorkelling, taking a boat up the Sawai River and spending a night 45m up in the forest canopy on a tree platform. This was a great way to end the trip.
Because of the difficult terrain, remoteness and the absence of villages for most of the trek, it is logistically a very challenging trek to organise (I expect CI would say their most challenging in Indonesia), but this was well covered by CI. At times communication could have been better in terms of changes of plans, the details for the day ahead etc, but it didn’t fundamentally affect what was a challenging, very enjoyable and, probably for many people, a once in a lifetime trek. Overall, CI was professional, attentive and generally paid a lot of attention to deal and I would be happy to trek with them again.

Our 2D1N Mount Gede hiking experience with Climb Indonesia was excellent and better than I’ve expected.
I’ve been on many treks globally, and quite a few times (especially in Southeast Asia), the guide would walk way ahead of or way behind the clients, without providing any assistance or info.
Samsul, our Climb Indonesia guide, always led from the front in close proximity with the group. He is cheerful and took great care of us, varying his speed to cater to our needs. He’s generous with sharing his experiences on various mountains in Indo, and also took beautiful photos for us!
The food on trail was some of the best I’ve had. I’ve grown accustomed to packed sandwich and omelette for treks, but with Climb Indonesia you get a full spread of meat and carbo and veg and fruits. On a cold night at the camp site we were even treated to fish soup! What a surprise!
The vehicle for hotel to trailhead transfer was also clean and spacious.
Overall, I would fully recommend a trekking experience with Climb Indonesia, they will not disappoint!

We had a wonderful trekking at Mt. Papandayan. It has a bit of everything there is - open hike, rocks, sands, craters, sulfur/steam vents to stream and dead forest. It’s a relatively easy hike; the summit is still not open to public, so we went for the 4.5-hour loop including many stops for breaks and photos.
Climb Indonesia is extremely experienced, thoroughly professional, and attentive to our needs. The planning for the hike was enjoyable and the hike day was even better. I can’t wait for my next trip with Climb Indonesia!

Hi Pak Adi, thank you very much for such encouraging review and your time to share the experience. Mount Papandayan is indeed an easy day trip - volcano adventure which is part of Climb Indonesia’s safe outdoor getaway from Jakarta, so hopefully you all came back fresh and relaxed. We are looking forward to seeing you again in your next adventure. We believe that you’re ready for a more challenging trek.

Found Climb Indonesia while browsing thru IG last month, contacted them and got fast respond from the founder itself : Taufan.
He explained in details about available day trip from Jakarta, from the location, what to expect, the risk, etc.
We (2 families with 5 teenagers) decided to go to Kawah Ratu but a few days before the D-day, Kawah Ratu was close due to the pandemic. Dissappointed but not for long before Taufan suggested us to enroute to Mt Lembu. And it turned out to be very pleasant afternoon.
Started the trek around 1 pm, walked thru shady bamboo forest with rocky path and managed to reach the top around 3 pm. Taufan and his team made sure that we all being well taken care of. They brought all the equipment needed to spoil us, name it : a folding table with matching table cloth, plates, mugs, fresh fruits such as grapes, pineapples, dates, oranges, delicious pastries, and assorted tea and coffee... not to mention : the electric stove with pan and stuff. Our kids got their reward instantly : eating indomie at the peak of the mountain with amazing view in the background. They were so thrilled 😂
Climb Indonesia's service was just perfect. Fast respond, friendly and experienced guides (for a group of 9 people they send 3 guides, including Taufan himself) to accompanied us. We enjoyed the trek and the conversations along the way. Oh did I mention it only cost us 400K IDR per pax for that 5* experience? It's approx USD 26 only for a day of worry-free trip. Definitely worth the money, don't you think so? 😊
Thank you Climb Indonesia! Will see you again soon on our next trip!

Hi Claudia, thank you for your time to write a nice review about our services. It was so wonderful hosting the adventurous and enthusiastic family like yours.
When your time and schedule permits, perhaps you and your family would like to try our full service program, which include outdoor lunch or breakfast.
Thank you as well for quoting the price for the program, just to clarify for other readers that the 400k has not included the transportation cost for crew, which you had kindly added on the top the 400k. Looking forward to host you again on your next adventure

My family collaborated with Climb Indonesia to raise a fund for Ngadulanggi village in East Sumba, Indonesia. It was a memorable trip. We spent 2 nights at the village with no electricity except some bulbs powered by the solar system at night. Our project, "Pay it Forward", successfully completed the mission by providing basic necesscities for the villagers. Climb Indonesia is very professional. Then we spent 3 days in East Sumba visiting a beautiful waterfall, stunning green hills, private beaches, and traditional villages. We have 2 teenagers and 1 preteen. Climb Indonesia staffs gave them wonderful experiences and showed them to appreciate what they have by finding happiness from things around them. Staffs speak English fluently and are very polite. We highly recommend Climb Indonesia if you are interested in trekking journeys in Indonesia.

My wife and I have just done a 6-day 3-peak hiking trip to the volcanoes Sindoro, Sumbing and Merbaba. From the first contact with Climb Indonesia, the experience was professional, prompt and a pure pleasure. Sam, our guide, and his team took great care of us, from the transport, to guidance on the hikes, to the comfy tented accommodation and the delicious "restaurant in the clouds". We want to hike more peaks next year and Climb Indonesia will be our choice of guides.

Really great trip with Climb Indonesia. Professional service to our hiking adventure, delicious food, nice equipment (the sleeping bag makes me comfy, not feeling cold at all) and the most important is I feel safe with them. Great job guys 👍👍

This is one of the beautiful summit views in Java. Start 6:00PM from Jakarta to arrive Dwarawati basecampe around 00:30AM and start hiking. We reached summit around 2:00AM and walk another 1 km to sunrise viewpoint. It's very cold up there - better prepare well. The sunrise is great but the view is outstanding. You can see 4 mountains - from Merbabu, Merapi, Sumbing, and Sindoro. After day break, Merbubi and Merapi will hide behind the clouds - leaving the nice view of cloud waves and the gigantic Sindoro with Subing behind. As always, Climb Indonesia prepares exceptional breakfast with amazing view.
We can walk down there after breakfast to enjoy savannah field and Dieng.
Trekking to Gunung Prau is good and no need special training. But friendly, knowledgeable, understandable tour guide are not easy.
I am very happy with Climb Indonesia and always do it again and again with Climb Indonesia.
