My husband and I were on a cruise of the Far East in December and we were fortunate to enjoy an evening food tour of Jakarta with Vera. I must say that it was one of the most enjoyable experiences we had on this trip.
Vera is an intelligent young woman, very knowledgeable about her city and besides that a lot of fun to spend an evening with.
She is passionate about her work and she took the time to cater to our tastes and preferences as we walked around Jakarta learning about her city and enjoying the sights and sounds and savoring the unique tastes and flavors of Indonesian food !
If you have an evening to spare, are a little adventurous and are looking to get a unique taste of Jakarta I would highly recommend this tour

We had an amazing time exploring Batavia and the local street food scene on custom walking tour of Jakarta with our great guide Eti.

Vera arranged the tour with short notice and customized everything to fit our needs.

If you’re visiting Jakarta and looking to experience the city with a local, I would definitely recommend this tour.

Vera was a wonderful guide who provided a great introduction to Jakarta and Indonesia. She customized the tour to accommodate our interests, ensured we hit all the sites on our itinerary, introduced us to new foods and fruits, and answered all of our questions. We always felt we were in capable and caring hands, and she helped sets the tone for a great trip in Indonesia. Highly recommended!

NO hesitation, Eti and this tour was simply memorable.
I've travelled over 75 countries backpacking mostly. Normally, I get to mingle with locals and sometimes am lucky they care to show me their real life.
This to me is the best way to get to know a city and its people.

I was offered this tour of the city and Eti made me feel exactly as if I was with one new friend who is so willing to share her passion for the city and its history.
Eti is caring, knowledgeable and constantly adapting to the adversity of the city and the crazy photographer she had on her hands !
The tour ended-up being very very personalised which is indeed a fantastic and rare bonus.

With only short notice, Jakarta Walking Tour could accommodate and personalise our family of four (including our 4yo daughter) Chinatown tour. Eti and Jakarta Walking Tour gave us the very best of Chinatown Tour in Jakarta, with very detail background information, more than what we expected. We admire Eti's knowledge about surrounding area and brought up the best secret of Jakarta Chinatown.

We highly recommend Jakarta Walking Tour. We'll see you again for another tour when we pop over to Jakarta

Had a great tour of Kota Tua and I really recommend it. The tour started at Sunda Kelapa and we actually got to go for a ride on a small fishing boat and to explore the large cargo ships - this was a real highlight and not something I would have been able to do without the tour. Then it was the Martime Museum, ride in bejaj, visit to a puppet maker and performer, delicious taste of jamu and walk around Fatatillah Square. The tour was relaxed, well timed, friendly tour guide - all excellent.

This is an amazing walking tour of Kota Tua (Batavia). Our guide Eti was amazing and very knowledgable. Although we booked our tour at the last minute, we received an Itinerary within hours of making contact and were all set for our tour the following day. The walking tour was jam packed with activities, including a visit to Sunda Kalapan (Jakarta’s original port) and we even got to board an actual working boat at the port. We also visited Fatahillah Square and even experienced a ride in a Bajaj! We were also taken to central Jakarta and enjoyed some great coffee.

This a fantastic tour to learn about the history of Jakarta’s old town and our guide Eti was very professional and took good care of us whilst on the tour. A “must do” when visiting Jakarta!

I can’t say enough good things about Jakarta Walking Tour. I was staying in Jakarta for a day plus before heading for the islands on a snorkeling tour. After many hours spent traveling to Jakarta, I wanted to walk, and the walking tour was perfect. I had one full day tour, the Jakarta Favorite Tour, and a half day tour the following day, the Jakarta Cultural Religious Tour. Prior to my trip, Vera worked with me to configure the tours that would best suit my interests.
My guide and new friend, Eti, was fabulous! She was fun, knowledgeable, and eager to show me her city and teach me about Jakarta and Indonesian history and ways. We had a great time at the markets. There were so many fruits I’d never seen or tasted before. Eti, helped me to experience many of these. We also had lunch and snacks from the market and local vendors. It was so nice to have an informal, relaxed tour.
I definitely plan to contact Jakarta Walking Tour next time I’m in Jakarta. I feel there’s still so much more to see and experience. Thank you, Vera and Eti!

I'm a food tour guide in Shanghai and love to eat when traveling. Eti showed me places I would never have been able to find on my own. She emanated positivity and was committed to showing me a fun time.

The food was spectacular and I always felt I was in good hands. I was able to eat to my fill, and she accommodated to my needs as the tour went on (I was the only one on the tour, so we started to taper off dishes when I got full). Eti mentioned that a good amount of food stalls from street markets opened in the evening - if that's more your thing, I'd suggest booking the 4pm. That being said, I don't feel at all like I was missing out! Eti kept me full and happy.

For DELICIOUS food from all over Indonesia, I highly recommend!!

It was a really nice tour. Our tour guide, Ms. Eti, is very knowledgeable about the local food. She took the three of us to food courts, street food stalls, and restaurants to try the delicious local cuisine. She introduced the ingredients and history of the foods she recommended, and they were all yummy. We also discussed the different food cultures of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, and Colombia. As a Chinese person, I was happy to discover that some local foods are influenced by Chinese cuisine. I even tried a Bajaj (a three-wheeled vehicle in Jakarta), which I had never had the confidence to try before. Now, I also feel more confident about trying local street food.
