We visited this gallery on the recommendation of friends who toured Mas on the previous day. We knew we wanted some traditional masks and found a good assortment here. The salesperson was attentive but not intrusive (but we had a driver with us who knew him).
There are some amazing masks and carvings here and some average and poor ones so look closely. My observation is that the best quality masks and carvings are the plain wood. The next get oiled, and the last best get painted. We ended up buying a large unfinished mask and a small painted. All told we bargained down to about 65% of the sticker price and could have gotten better prices but my spouse is nice. 😅
When I asked to see their antique masks they gave me something that was obviously not antique and of poor quality so know what you are doing if you want older pieces. There are some upstairs and they are expensive.
All told I was pleased with what we found and the prices we paid were probably reasonable without spending a whole day shopping around.

Visited as part of tour. Many beautiful wood carvings on display, unfortunately photos not allowed. Watched an artisan carving a large wood panel. Many hours of work required.

A nice place for those interested in wood carving and in home decors. After having a look at the shop it makes you realize how talented and the patience needed by the people doing this job. Something I would like to say that when I went to this gallery while having a look inside the shop the salespersons makes you feel as if you are forced to buy something before leaving the place and after having shop then you can see a smile on their face. It should be understood that some people might pay a visit just to admire their good work.

The moment we walked in the person in charge came over and started pestering us to purchase their items. Each time we stopped to look at the carvings this man gave out loud exasperated sighs and kept muttering under his breath for us to move to the back of the store. He even said out loud that if we don't plan to buy then don't stop and stare/touch/waste time. Seriously how do you expect people to buy your stuff when you don't even allow them the time to look around? Abysmal service; I don't care if the carvings ( if I had the chance to peruse them, that is ) are top of the class - I will NOT recommend this place to anyone.

I found it amazing watching these gifted people, sitting on the ground, carving this beautiful wood into works of art. I would love to of invested in a piece but being unsure of the customs requirements, I resisted.

We we're unlucky enough to get peachdev's salesman here... This man is awful.. He herded us like sheeps in the shop i was trying so hard to be polite and not burst out. The craftmanship is great.. I wish i had the time to stare and appreciate them.. Even on the section where they woodcrafting he was pestering us to buy..

4 people are carving wood just in front of the door, that's the woodcarving part ...
And then you have the shop, a big shop, where you will be followed every step you take. I'm a bit allergic to that but I know it's rather common here so I did not say anything. We found a really nice mask of Ganesha (good quality of carving & wood) but the price was VERY high. After bargain a lot and even the intervention of his chef, we have the mask for a more reasonable price. If you don't bargain up to 50% (we finally got 60% off) you pay too much. He will also try to convince you that he has sold a similar one yesterday for xxx dollars.

This is the 4th time we have visited this gallery and they have all the traditional and also new styles of the year, wood sculptures here. The difference is this place just sells the great quality, no splitting or fading woods, hibiscus, ebony, crocodile and teak. Sometimes they start high with the price but barter hard and they always come down, We now have many pieces in our home from this gallery and there are more that we want next year.

The work on display is incredible. This is worth a visit just to look around. Many of the pieces are reasonably priced although shipping and customs need to taken in to account if your choice doesn't fit your suitcase. Ubud is a hotbed of stone and wood work so the competition raises the standard of the work. There are usually two or three woodworkers just outside the gallery carving. A 'must-see'!

We enjoyed watching the skilled craftsmen work. Many beautiful pieces inside. Need to bargain as prices are high. They did an excellent job wrapping our pieces for transport. We roamed the gallery independently with no sales pressure.
