A memorable and amazing trip we engaged through Tibetan Guide.
1st - Dhondup the manager always reply email promptly and accommodate our private tour accordingly to our needs and fine tune to the details that we expected.
2nd - His team, our beloved tour guide Sonam who is very experience and knowledgable in tibetan culture and history. He always care and concern over us, always ensure we are ok. Even Dhondup himself will message us on the 1st day to check everything is in good hands
3rd - Our driver Duk, quiet and soft spoken. Very alert and careful, ensure we reach our destination safely.
Tibetan Guide always accommodate our needs even there is a last min changes in our plan due to weather. They value our feedback and ensure everything meets our expectation. They provide a top notch service to their customer
Dhondup the manager himself will always try to arrange time to greet or bid goodbye to his customer. He came to meet us on the last day at hotel. Appreciate and very thoughtful of him.
I will definitely recommend this tour group to anyone who wish to enjoy tibet to the fullest and keep a good memorable experience.
Sincerely
LJ

We were looking for a travel agency managed by Tibetan people at a reasonable price, and after 2 years of planning this trip we traveled to Lhasa and Shigatse with them in a 7 days private trip. Dhandup, the owner, was always professional and he fulfilled all the permits, visa and requirements and he introduced himself the first and the last day of our tour. Tashi, our guide, with a very good English, and his driver were all the time with us. Tashi is indeed well prepared in all the story of Tibet and Buddhism, with long experience was ready to answer all our questions and doubts. We travelled in the low season, so we had the opportunity to visit all the temples at our pace and he was guiding us along the way. If you have a limited budget, they help you to control it, local food, no shopping and no additionals. Tibet is a destination that worth to take a local guide that can explain the little details due the complexity of what you see. Well, we still amazed of what we saw.

I did with a group of 8 other foreigners a 7 days/ 8 nights tour organized by Tibetan Guide through Tibet. The itinerary was as follows:
Day 1 arrival from Chengdu by plane and free sleight seeing in Lhasa
Day 2 Lhasa sightseeing: 1) Jokhang 2) Ramoche Temples
Day 3 Lhasa sightseeing: 1) Potala 2) Norbulingka Palaces and group dinner in Lhasa
Day 4 Lhasa – Shigatse Tashilompo Monastery
Day 5 Shigatse – Everest North Face at Rongbuk: Eco-bus service to Rongbuk Monastery, Everest Base Camp, overnight stay at 5500 meters
Day 6 Seight seeing within Rongbuk Monastery – back to Shigatse
Day 7 Shigatse – Lhasa Yamdrok-tso lake Karo-la glacier, Pelkor Chode Monastery
The entire tour was well organized. We were picked up from the airport without waiting there. The accommodation in Lhasa and especially Shigatse were good to excellent, especially in view of the very competitive price I paid. The tour guide spoke fluent English and was very knowledgeable and gave us impressive insights into the sights visited including an introduction into Tibetan Buddhism. He was also instrumental in passing the various checkpoints on the way without loosing too much time. I can only recommend Tibetan Gude travel agency, not only because of the travel experience itself but especially for obtaining and managing all required documentation and permits. I made several attempts with various travel agencies to visit Tibet, succeeded with Tibetan Guide eventually.

Well, what can I say that hasn't already been mentioned by everyone else? Tibetan Guide truly did live up to its reviews and I'm happy to have gone on a tour with them.
Pre-trip communication with Dhondup was easy and he always replied emails really quickly. I was stressing out a little when the Tibet permits hadn't reached my hotel in Beijing and I was about to leave the city, but an email to Dhondup quickly solved that problem, and he kept me constantly updated with its status. His promptness really helped to ease my worries! Dhondup also went the extra mile of checking in with us when we first arrived, during, and at the end of the trip. Where else can you get such great service and hospitality?
During our visit in Lhasa and to Mount Everest, Sonam (our guide) was a treasure trove of information. He spoke great English and shared a ton of facts and fascinating stories. I was curious about many things and Sonam patiently explained them, and often with humour too! He was able to sense that we had particular interest in certain topics and strove to share more about them whenever the opportunity presented itself. I travelled with my elderly mother and he took extra care to look out for her, and for that, I'm grateful for his thoughtfulness. Our driver, Samdrup, was a polite and capable driver, and we felt safe putting our lives in his hands as he navigated the winding roads on the way to Mount Everest.
The trip was perfect, and I only wished we could've stayed longer! Everything was wonderfully taken care of by Dhondup and his team, and we will definitely recommend Tibetan Guide to everyone looking to visit beautiful Tibet.

Amazing 10 days trip with my wife from Shanghai, where we are currently living to Lhasa. We flew from here to Xining and from there we took a 24h train climbing up to Lhasa on the highest railroad in the world.
Itinerary, travel permissions, railroad tickets and all the bookings were done by Gonkho, a very expert and competent agent referred by a friend of mine who did the same trip 5 years ago.
Sonam was our guide who gently and kindly took care of us from our arrival at the Lhasa train station to the departure of our flight to Shanghai after 8 days.
A typical charming Tibetan hotel in Lhasa was booked for us and for 3 colleagues from the US who complemented a group of 5. After 3 days of visiting, there were 5 heading towards the Everest base camp stopping in 2 cities along the trip.
The route to the base camp through the Himalayas is wonderful and unforgettable. Photos taken will never express the images we hold in our minds but help us remember how many beauties we have around us.
For those living in China, there are more options for travel agencies to Tibet to choose from than anyone outside of China. But as soon as I got back to Shanghai, I thanked my Australian friend for the good indication he gave us. I frankly recommend this very competent and experienced team to those planning to visit Tibet.

I am Sonam Tobgay from Bhutan. From the first contact to weeks after I had returned home, Tibetan Guide has provided an unparallelled quality of service. Tibetan Guide knocked it out of the park with their organized itinerary, wonderful guide and driver, and problem solving abilities at every turn. My guide Mr. Phubu Choden was knowledgeable, he knew the history and culture, took good care of me, were very professional and kind. I felt welcome, safe, valued and comfortable.
The proprietor of Tibetan Guide Mr. Dhondup is responsive and kept close eye on every step of the trip. I can imagine that a great deal of preparation was made in order to execute such a trip so well. I can't imagine how you could do better. Thanks again Dhondup la and Phub Choden.
I always wanted to visit Tibet and in 2019 my dream came true. The mountains and valleys are stunning, the culture is rich and so evident in the prayer flags, chortens, temples and the stories.
Will definitely visit Tibet again with same Tour Agent - TIBETAN GUIDE.

We just had an amazing journey with with Tibetan guide. This company is full-service. From our arrival at the Lhasa train station to drop off at the Nepal border, everything was perfectly coordinated. From the start, owner Dhonuup, has been wonderful with communication, responding promptly with any questions we had. He set us up with the best guide (Sonam) and a skillful driver (Lopsang). Sonam was everything a guide should be, excellent English and catered to our every need. The Tibetan guide folks arranged our travel by train from Xining to Lhasa where we were greeted by Sonam with traditional white silk scarves. We were promptly taken to a hotel to rest a bit. Afterwards, we met our guide for lunch to go over our itinerary. Then, owner Dhonup, joined us to make sure
all of our questions were answered and if we needed anything else. He also said we should contact him at any time if we needed anything at all. He wanted us to feel like we were family. I have to say this company took care of us like we were family. I’ve never had such a great customer service. These guys are truly professional and compassionate. They even accommodated us when we wanted to see Everest at sunrise. Everything was perfect and we couldn’t of asked for anything more. On our last night our guide and driver took us out to dinner and we shared some Lhasa Barley beer which was so much fun. Such a memorable trip and it wouldn’t be the same without these folks. We thank them so much for everything they do and our extremelyknowledgeable guide/friend,Sonam, will be in our hearts forever.

We had a 8 days private tour with Tibetan Guide. Dhondup was very helpful when we first enquired about the trip. He helped us to design our itinerary, booked train tickets and applied Tibet travel permit. In between in our planning, there were many changes of our requirements and he was very patience and prompt in replying our queries and making our last minute changes. It just made us feeling comfortable dealing with him.
Sonam was our guide and Sumdo was our driver.
Sonam, we called him SP, is a knowledgeable, patience and caring guide. On our first day of arrival, in fact, everyday, he would ensure that our health conditions were good as we progressed towards Everest! He was also very detailed in explaining the history in each of the places we visited.
Sumdo, a safe and cautious driver. He would ensure our safety throughout the journey.
We had a wonderful time in Tibet and thanks to Tibetan guide for providing us a well planned, enriching and safe journey.

We had a great trip with Gelek (our guide) and Chambel (our driver) on a privat 15-day tour (3 people). Gelek acted as both guide and vegan cook for us during our trekking tour (5 days in total). He read our wishes from our lips without having to say anything and always made sure we’re comfortable and happy.
Gelek was very knowledgeable about both nature and culture and ensured that we get a good impression of Tibetan culture. He was very flexible and adapted to the strangest requests we had. I can only recommend him to everyone who wants to take a private tour in Tibet.
Dhondup (owner of Tibetan Guide Agency) was very helpful and organized the permits for us very quickly. The entire setup/Organisation went very smoothly.

Trip of a lifetime! January, 2022, 7-day private tour with friends in Tibet. Our guide (Galek) and driver (Galek) were super knowledgeable and flexible. Lodgings were clean and comfortable. Food options were delicious, varied and easy for vegetarians. We were able to visit monasteries, enjoy gorgeous landscapes and imbibe the local culture. Visas and security checks were handled smoothly thanks to our guide. Highly recommend this tour company for the price and service- they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and they were also able to refine and advise according to our wants and needs.

Hello, my name is Anita , we are planing a 8 day trip to Lhasa ans surrounding, starting and arriving from Xining (China) by train to Lhasa. So in gact we would have 6 full days in Tibet. We would come with a group of around 6-8 people and like to visit Lhasa and some beautiful places around but with a maximum attitude of 3000-3500. What nice places around Lhasa can you recomend and how is the weather like in May ? Do someone have a good tour guide to recommend who could help us to organise the trip ? thanks a lot

Tashi delek Anita,
Thank you for your message. You can visit Lhasa city with all it's attractions (Potala, Norbulingka, Drepung, Sera, Ramoche...) and also Tsedang-Samye (Yumbulagang, Traduk Temple, Samye Monastery). To visit lakes as Namtso or Yamdrok-tso you must cross a higher pass. Same to visit Shigatse.
Please, do not hesitate to contact us for anything you might need in Tibet.
Best wishes

It is possible to stay 2 days in Lhasa and also on the base camp however there is not much to do on the base camp so I suggest to stay there just 1 day. For more detailed questions you can mail with tibetan guide. We did a trip with him and he was very good and answered all my questions directly

Saludos Cinthia

Hi, I used google translate to understand your question in English.
First you have to know how long you can stay in China. Then you can plan the length of your tour. I was in Tibet for 10 days and 5 days else where outside Tibet. The Tibet tour agency will be able to help you to plan the itinerary based on your requirements and prepare all the required documents. We have a great times in Tibet under their care.
Hope this help. Let me know if you have further query.

Hi, I myself is diabetic too, with a bit of high blood pressure. I survived. Just remember to move slowly and enjoy. I even went to the base camp which is 5200m. The tour guide is very attentive and observing our health closely; to make sure we can enjoy our 10 days stay there.
However I would advice you to consult doctor about altitude sickness and maybe get some medication.
I personally took this chinese medicine "Rhodiola" which is in capsule form, 2 weeks before the tour.
Me and my husband might travel to Lhasa from Chongqing around middle of October for 3 to 4 nights .And he is interested in doing the kora in 3 famous temple. We only want to be in Lhasa is it possible and how about the guide we need and how much please tq

We went to Tibet in the spring and used Tibetan Guide Tours. While they have a standard 1 week tour they will happily take you where you want to go in Lhasa for a few days. The guides are locals, flexible and will do things your way. And they all speak good English. Compared to the government run Chinese tours this group is very cheap, but don't let that put you off; you'll run into the big tour groups at the temples and be very glad you're on own.

We can leave Feb.26 (2019). When is Tibet closed to travelers?

This year Tibet closed 2 weeks earlier than usual (about Feb 10 to April 30) so the dates are not set in stone but it looks like you're out of luck

Yes, you need a special permit to get into Tibet. You need a travel agency to do that for you. When I booked my tour with Tibetan guide they will also apply for the permit for you. It’s part of the package.
You can email them if you have any question about your permit.
