We had a wonderful time! Apart from the final guesthouse in Gyirong, where there was little hot water and barely any heat, everything was superbly arranged. You were so helpful in arranging the Tibet permit in a short time, and Tse Wang & Lobsang were excellent driver and guide who took such care of us, that I will always recommend your services to anybody who is thinking of travelling to this beautiful part of the world. Thank you, THANK YOU, for an unforgettable experience!

Right from the moment Pema and Dawa picked me up at the airport in Paro, to start my adventure in Bhutan, they showed me the warmth and hospitality that Bhutan is noted for. Bhutan is the Land of Gross National Happiness and Pema /Dawa lived , extended, and shared that culture with me in everything they did.

Over the course of my 5 day visit, Pema/Dawa they repeatedly treated me as a member of their extended family not as a tourist/ client. This was very important to me and further reinforced Bhutan’s culture of pursuing HAPPINESS. This spirit continued as they showed me the magnificent sites Bhutan has to offer, but equally as important they shared their in depth knowledge in a simple and understanding way. Pema/Dawa enthusiastically responded to my questions to make sure I understood their answer but how proud they were of their heritage and culture.

Their English was perfect and most understandable. I would welcome the opportunity to tour Bhutan with them again. Finally, Pema/Dawa went way above any other guides I previously had on my many trips.

We travelled to Beijing, Chengdu and Lhasa. Everyday was a new and exciting experience. The 3 areas were so different it was like visiting three different countries. The guides were very professional and knowledgeable. Namgyal our last guide in Lhasa was particularly engaging, a born and bred Lhasa resident, who made us laugh and had very impressive knowledge about the area. This is a brilliant trip to do and excellent value for money. I just wish it wasn't over !!!!!!

Great Tibet tours customized our trip to Bhutan completely to our wishes. The trip was very great. The organization perfectly. We really liked everything we did. Thimphu, Paro, Tigers nest. The guide Tashi is amazing. He is flexible, kind and really personable. We could not have wished for a better guide. Also, the driver Panjor was excellent, we felt very safe, he was definitely doing a great job.

Dear Beatrice
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the most wonderful experience in our Nepal trip.
You gave us the adventure of a lifetime. It was well organized, perfectly and professionally executed. Yadu was wonderful, our driver Rajees was a darling and our guides were such blessings along the way. The accommodations were just perfect - everything was amazing.
I can't thank you enough for such a worry free experience. We felt we were so well taken care of, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
Beatrice, it was such a pleasure working with you. You were so patient with all my changes and questions, so knowledgeable and so flexible.
I look forward to planning another adventure with you in the near future.

I planned my trip with Great Tibet Travels last year (2019) during July. This trip has changed my life for the better. The tour company and the tour guide Darghye were wonderful. During my 3 day trek, Darghye walked beside me to the most part and gave commentary. This man is knowledgeable and knows what he is talking about.

Darghye kept an eye on all members on the tour and periodically asked us how we are doing altitude sickness wise.

Remember while doing the trek, think positive and take baby steps and this may change your life for the better.

Regarding the tour company they were kind enough to upgrade my hotel location at a couple of locations for no extra charge.

Trek Planning - Fitness:
I am a New Yorker and moderately fit. Before going on this trip, never in my life walked more than 5 miles a day. I started off with walking 9K to 10K steps per day at a moderate pace for a few weeks. I took it to the next level by walking around central park - this takes about 16K steps in about 3.5 hours and this I used to do every weekend. Since we lived in a high raised building, every day I used to climb stairs (sometimes 10 floors and sometimes 20 floors). Maybe a few times I walked on the treadmill in the Gym with inclination set to 14 for about 15 minutes.

Trek Planning - Medication:
I scheduled an appointment with my PCP - got the prescription for diamox and antibiotics. I also took with me tylenol, motrin, a miniverion of first aid kit.

Trek Planning - General:
You can read as much as you want on fitness but one should learn to know and listen to ones’ body. I carried some nuts and granola bars and do not forget ponchos

Trek - Altitude Sickness:
Diamox will do its job and you do your job. Remember to take it easy the first few days, no need to run or get excited, let me body adapt. My mantra initially was to walk like a snail, take small steps (remember to listen to your body and keep your mind in a positive state).

I did get headaches and took tylenol.

I recently did this trip that Catherine from Great Tibet Tours booked for me and all I can say is "truly amazing" . I went alone and Catherine did the most fantastic job of organising...never had one hiccup and had the most amazing tour guides. I cannot thank her enough for her amazing service. My trip was an absolute dream and there wasn't one day that i never enjoyed. My highlight was Bhutan ...it was the most amazing country to visit and I'd love to go back and spend more time there!!! Thank you a million times to Catherine...I would definitely book through her again !

From the minute I met my guide Denzen at the train station, I felt at ease and was ready to start my journey. I was dropped at my hotel, which was extremely comfortable with nice amenities and a great shower, whch was much needed after a 41 hour train ride from Beijing. The night was mine to explore and Denzen was to meet me in the morning for a tour of the monasteries and temples around Lhasa. Chauffered about with an incredbile and kind driver, I took in the sights from the comfortable backseat. Everthing was well planned out and Denzen was a wealth of knowledge and offered patience. The trip to the Lake was very special and at 15,217 ft an unbelievable place to chill out. After some rain, wind and even a rainbow, my experience was one I’ll never forget.

We joined this tour after we looked into a handful of others. During the 2 months prior to the trip, we have had constant communications with Amy. Naturally there were a lot of questions regarding Visa, accommodations, logistics (traveling also in Silk Road and Nepal). Amy was not only quick in responding - she is also extremely knowledgeable. She provided extremely valuable insights for us to plan this trip well. She was always honest and upfront and never over promised.

The tour itself was excellent - the natural beauty of Tibet is unquestionable. While this is not a trip with 5 star hotels, the accommodations were relatively good and comfortable. The driver was safe and responsible. Julia, our tour guide was well prepared and explained things in great details. While not native speaker - her english is good. Throughout the trip, she took care of us and helped navigated a lot of requests and we felt we could trust her opinion because she was honest.

All was amazing from helpful, attentive customer service at the start and whilst I was there it was just fantastic. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide, driver or group to share the experience with.
The hotel was pleasant but the window was a little noisy and it might have been nicer to be closer to the Bakhor Street but saying this I did not raise it at the time because I was also very happy.
I would recommend.
Thank you again,
Great Tibet Tour
