At Tibet Travelers, we specialize in curating exceptional travel journeys and tours in Tibet, offering personalized care to every traveler for a memorable adventure. Greetings to fellow travelers! Thank you for choosing to explore the China Tibet Autonomous Region, known as the Roof of the World. Your adventure begins, and we are excited to welcome you! Tibet Travelers is a genuine local travel agency founded by Tenzin Dhondup, also known as MC Tenzin, a local Tibetan rapper. I was born near Mount Everest Base Camp, where my family opened a tea house in 2003. This marked the beginning of my journey in tourism. In 2005, I became a tour guide in Lhasa and later served as a sales manager at a local travel agency for two years. In 2016, I launched Tibet Travelers with the motto: "Not the biggest, but dedicated to providing the best service!"

We only started reaching out to tibet travellers team to get a quote on 3 May and started our travels on 30 May. Tenzin was very responsive and provides good details and links back to his site that we could read up details on. We took a train from xining into lhasa and tenzin assisted with getting the soft sleeper train tickets. We chose to do a private 10 day EBC and namtso tour and it was a really good experience. We were picked up at the train station and welcomed with white scarf (Tibetan tradition) and even got a welcome dinner meal from Tenzin.
We met our guide, Gelek on all 10 days and his english is great and he is responsive to our needs when we let him know our thoughts and he always checks in on us and ensure that we get to choose what food we would like to have as well and he is knowledgeable to share information with us.
The driver(tarzin?) was very nice as well though he spoke little english, but he drove us safely through long driving distance and his car has camping equipments which he allowed us to use one of the day and we went camping in the grasslands which was a terrific experience!
Love the itinerary where the main was staying in EBC and watching everest (main is definitely the sunset) and the 5 peaks at other viewpoints
On our last night in Lhasa, tenzin met us again and treated us to drinks (Lhasa beer) and listened to some feedbacks and looked at our tour photos together with us while we shared our experience and ensured that we are safely back at our hotel to catch our flight home next morning.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience liaising with tibet travellers and the manager, guide and driver provided to us for the tour was amazing and they have good hospitality and lastly to the team at tibet travellers, thank you for having us and taking care of us during these 10 days

We had a fantastic 10-day tour with Tibet Travelers that was a highlight of our 1 month of traveling in China. We chose Tibet Travelers based on 3 factors:
1) it is a local Tibetan company;
2) It was recommended by Lonely Planet; and
3) it had only positive online reviews.
The tour exceeded our expectations. From the moment of the welcoming at the airport until our departure the level of service was outstanding. All our needs were attended to with the highest level of care. Our guide Tenzin Gelek was very knowledgeable, kind and spoke great English. Gelek shared with us the Tibetan history, culture and language, and was also able to find the best local places for lunches and dinners allowing us to meet local people and have a truly Tibetan experience. Our driver, also Tibetan, knew the best spots to stop the car to have a fantastic view of the landscape and to avoid the usual touristy spots filled with crowds. He proved to be a true professional when driving through snowy and narrow mountain roads making us feel safe. The owner of the company, MC Tenzin, made us feel welcomed by meeting us on the first and the last days over a meal making sure that we have a positive experience. As it was just us two people on the tour, Tibet Travelers even slightly adjusted our itinerary to match better our personal interests. Gelek learned that we like walking and enjoy the beauty of remote places so the company included some additional landscape stops and a small hike in our itinerary. We would like to come back to Tibet one day and we will definitely use Tibet Travelers again.

We enjoyed a 10 amazing days trip around Tibet with Tibet Travelers, and after that we undoubtedly recommend choosing this travel agency to everyone who is interested in spending some days there.
In terms of planning and operative matters they work wonderfully fine and efficiently. We got in touch with them as soon as we got the chinese Visa, sharing with them the plan we wanted to do. They booked all the accommodations and transfers very quickly and managed to get the permission to enter Tibet, as well as the train tickets from Xining. At this respect, we were very happy with their work, as every hotel was wonderful and really comfortable, working as the ideal base point to rest and move around Tibet. The communication with them was friendly and also very efficient, perfectly fluent. They answer to all your questions and doubts almost immediately, what builds an open and trustworthy relationship from the beginning.
Once in Tibet, they picked us up from the railway station and took care of everything. Our guide for the ten days trip, Gelek, was always ready to help us with anything we needed, also very efficiently and friendly. Everyone involved in our trip, also the two drivers who took us around Lhasa for the first days and then up to the Everest base camp through Tibet were very professional. Everything worked put perfectly, just on time and as it needed to be. We were very satisfied with them.
Furthermore, our greatest satisfaction was being able to get in touch and get to know a little bit the tibetan culture. Our guide, Gelek, did a great effort to show us every temple we were interested in, as long as other aspects of their daily routine and culture, which is so appealing.
To sum up, going to Tibet was an amazing and outstanding experience we always dreamt of, and of course it did not disappoint us, it is simply one of the best travels one can do. In order to do so, and from our own experience, Tibet Travelers is the best agency to accomplish it successfully, we would certainly repeat it. Our only regret, just not having spent more days there with them. Because of our tight schedule around China, we were able to enjoy ten days in Tibet, but we do believe it worths at least two whole weeks, just to be able to get really deep inside and enjoy your time there quietly, finding moments of real connection with the tibetan atmosphere.

My Tibet trip with Tibet Traveller was beyond amazing. My friend and I joined their private 10-day tour in June 2024. The manager, Tenzin, was very prompt in responding and ensured everything was well-organized. He secured soft sleepers for our 19-hour train ride from Xining to Lhasa.
Tenzin also upgraded our accommodation at EBC for our comfort, providing a room with a heater and a direct view of Mount Everest, which we truly appreciated.
Both our driver and tour guide were local Tibetans, making us feel at ease throughout the trip. Our tour guide, Gelek, was knowledgeable, helpful, reliable, and experienced, teaching us about Tibetan culture and history. Our experienced driver, who was passionate about picnics, had the necessary equipment in the car. We enjoyed a picnic with a stunning view of the glacier mountains, which was a memorable experience.
I strongly recommend Tibet Travelers to anyone planning a trip to Tibet.

Great experience for our trip from Xining by train to Kathmandu. We paid almost all of the bill on the spot, with a small deposit upon confirmation. Tenzin, the owner, is very attentive and answered every question asked by email or chat. We recommend installing wechat and alipay for transactions. In general I had the impression that it is better to settle the bill and give tips with the Yuan. The guide and driver both super cute, nice and competent. Kelsang drove cautiously and his driving style was highly appreciated. The Gelek guide very helpful and experienced. Absolutely recommended.

Tibet has been a life changing journey and it would have been impossible without the constant support of Tenzin, the manager and above all, the impressive work of Gelek, our guide!
We were a little bit concerned about the whole process but Tenzin was always there to support and provide an answer to all our questions in a timely and super efficient manner. Also, he took our desires and wishes seriously as we did not want the typical tour but more than a personalized one with a focus on nature, hikes and deep Tibetan culure! And Tenzin did magic and prepared an amazing journey!
The highlight of our trip was Gelek, our tour guide. He was not only extremely knowledgeable but also he always took care of us, really outstanding personality and always making the best of every part of the journey!
We visited Shigatse, Ganden, Yerpa Meditation Caves, Tidrum nunnery (what an experience), Namtso lake and a couple of glaciers and Lhasa, of course! I would say it was simply breathtaking! And I would choose these people again and again and again! Totally recommended!

This was our first time travelling to Tibet and we did not know what to expect, but with the efficient facilitation from Tenzhin beforehand, the process was made smooth even before the adventure began.
We would also like to specially thank our guides - Dolmas for the Lhasa part of the trip as well as the outskirt parts of the trips. They are very knowledgeable on the history and culture of Tibet.
During our trip, we severely underestimated how altitude sickness could affect but our guides were always there with us to take care of us and cater to our needs. We especially have to thank them and Tenzhin for adjusting the itinerary as we were unwell at the second part of the trip. The changes were made swiftly and amendments / facilitation for hotel bookings were immediate. It was a relief and comfort for us.
As much as Tibet is filled with beautiful landscapes and rich in culture and history, it is the people who truly touched our hearts. Thank you Dolmas and Kelsang (our driver) for opening your hearts to us and home and sharing your stories and personal experiences. It truly made this experience one of a kind. We will bring back home your dreams and aspirations for the future. Thank you for blessing us throughout the trip.

We took a 10-day tour to Everest Base camp and Lake Namtso and it was an amazing experience. This tour company is highly recommended. Tenzin was very responsive and the paperwork was handled in good time without any problems. We enjoyed meeting him in Lhasa and he made sure we felt welcomed. Our guide Gelek was excellent. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and adapted the tour to suit us. The driver was professional and skilled and we felt safe. His car was spacious and comfortable.

My girlfriend and I did a private tour with Tibet Travellers for 10 days in Lhasa, a tour to Everest Base Camp seeing some amazing landscapes, returning to Lhasa and finishing with a day at Ganden Monastery. We found the agency through Lonely Planet. Throughout the planning we had very good contact with Tenzin Dondhup, he even gave us a very warm welcome in Lhasa. We went by train from Xining and the organisation of the tickets worked out just fine!
Everything was very well organized, the hotels were comfortable and very well located, and our driver Nurgial took us securely from one place to another.
The best of course was our guide Gelek. He has a ton of experience. We learned so much about Tibet, its culture and religion and were very well cared for, always with a friendly smile.
Our tour with the agency was a great experience and we highly recommend it!!
