We spent a bit of time here, admiring the structure, the construction, the layout as well as the entire floor plan of this well-preserved big mansion. It was beautiful. Very well-thought out layout in that era of 1600s. History revealed that the leaders of the Taiping Rebellion league stayed here. Simply take a look at this map of the mansion, you can see there are a few entrances. Do check your entry & exit properly. Anyway, we came out at the back gate but there were many streets selling herbs. Also lots of things that we could buy:)) Tickets must be purchased. It took us an hour to admire the mansion. By camera-ready please.

This garden does not begin to compare to the gardens of Suzhou and area, but it is a very nice garden in its own right. It does give a good introduction to the Chinese garden style, as it has the mandatory elements of water, pavilions, interesting stones and shaped trees/shrubs, as well as a moon gate and an area of bonsai. Plus, it is close to the Confucius Temple/Imperial Academy area, so a visit there can easily be combined with a visit here. Not sure why the location on the attached map is currently in the wrong location . . . the actual location is right by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom museum, and is shown as Zhanyuan park on Google maps.

This small garden is gorgeous and typical of such places in China. Come late in the afternoon or early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

too many people enter without any limit, and some children play there and pee anywhere by their families' permits. For me, it was a really suck experience. I don't have idea to stay there.

Now I know why in ancient Chinese theme novel always has some characters lost in the merchant's or noble's house. The long corridor divided gardens and each building like walking in a maze.
