In this huge bustling city, the lake and various paths around it provide a real oasis. We were there in July and there are shady paths on the city side. There are electric boats for hire and you get good city views. You can also walk alongside the lake on the city wall but there is an entry fee. In... More

It is a huge and beautiful park, be prepared to walk a lot. It is kind of crowded too even with that size.

You can walk around the island areas but we took a shuttle. It was just lovely. The tour guide only spoke in Chinese which was disappointing. The lake is not promoted as much as it should be

XUANWU LAKE PARK Xuanwu Lake Park is located at the foot of Zhongshan Mountain better known as Purple Mountain in Nanjing, China. Spread at an area of 1240 acres, it is a beautiful scenic spot and a must visit attraction in Nanjing. There are five islands in the Lake interconnected with arched bridges. The water area in the Park is... More

Been in Nanjing for the past 3 years, one of the best park. The history of this place is very rich. The best time to go here is during Autumn, the trees are wonderful. Also it is not too sunny or cold. You can go to the wall or just walk around and jog. The place can be a shortcut... More

Xianwu Lake and its park of the same name are very popular weekend destinations for the residents of Nanjing. It is amazing that there is such gigantic nature just beside crowded urban areas. There are several islets, which are linked with each other by causeways or semicircular bridges. There are also some attentions for children. So you can spend a... More

Just an awesome place. I love the juxtaposition to the train station, the view of Nanjing's skyline, the old people singing and dancing, the water, the paths...everything. Drop the 80 kuai (plus 100 deposit) and go for the electric boat. It's totally worth it. Take it out to the middle of the lake and turn it off and just soak... More

We explored this area on Saturday afternoon. The surrounding is relaxing providing for a nice walk. There are food and drink spots, as well as public toilet facilities. making it very convenient. Unlike with other areas in Nanjing, it was not too crowded. Recommend for anyone who has a few hours to spare on their trip to Nanjing but would... More

This is a nice and beautiful lake near Xuanwu subway, opposite Lake Xuanwu and Westin hotel. There are boats for rentals or just take a leisure walk around the lake. Nice place to relax!
