Beautiful but really crowded

Very nice lake located in the city center. Perfect for a walk around the old city wall on a sunny day. The only downside was that being Chinese new year it was really crowded

I've spent many, many hours at Xuanwu Lake in Nanjing. It's a great place to stroll around and relax with lots of nature all around. When you enter through the old Nanjing wall that surrounds much of the city, it's as if you can leave all the stress behind. The lake is clean and there is a lot of greenery... More

We visited the Xuanwu lake during the Spring Festival holidays in February. It was cold and windy and there was not much opportunity to escape the cold temperatures. If you go in the winter, bundle up to stay warm. There are a number of electric boats you can rent by the hour. My friend had his 5 year old son... More

Went with my girlfriend today and spent a few hours there. We took a little tour bus for ¥30 each and it lasted about 20-30min I think. They stopped twice for us to get out and the 2nd time was when the tour was over. We walked around the gardens and island all the way to where there was a... More

Huge place, might take half a day to complete, however, there is a tramp service at 30RMB per person that takes you around the place. Takes about half an hour in total. The guide will speak in Mandarin only. We decided to take it because, we did not want to walk. Unless you have a friends who can translate it... More

The old city wall goes around this park. You can walk on the top of the wall or along the lake. Both are enjoyable walks. There is a small entrance fee. If you are there for a while, paddle boats are available to rent. Because of the fee, it's more of a high end crowd there.

Can spend most, if not all, of your day here. There is something for everyone. Especially enjoy the Japanese gardens.

The lake of Xuanwu locates at the city center of NKG, where surrounded by skyscrapers, shopping malls, railways, and entertainments. Ming Dynasty City Wall was built 600 years ago, while tall buildings just outside of the wall and the lake, making you to cross from the ancient to 2016.....

It was cold on the winter's day that we visited but we were kept warm with a enjoyable walk around this interesting lake area. So many different sights and sounds, with misty tree's, rose gardens, monuments and people dancing in the park.

We loved this lake. We went in the morning before it got too hot and even walked around at sunset to see the beauty of the lake with the sun setting. We love the giant lily pads and the stone bridges. We walked for hours and there still was too much of it that we didn't get to explore. Don't... More
