It offers a nice walk around the lake with people singing, playing, dancing, training; depending on the wind, you can see a lot of beautiful kites. It is also possible to walk to the small islands and see nice lotus flowers.

This lake is must if you come to Nanjing. You will have a pleasant walk especially with raindrops. You should definitely go through this place, you will have to make plenty of pictures. This will be an unforgettable experience.

The lake has many areas to work, cycle, skate or even boat around. You can hire boats for a small fee for different numbers of passengers, I think the maximum being 6. The boats rides do have time limits, but you can extend or pay more if you want to spend more time on the lake.

We walked along the lake, on the bridges and from an island to the next. It is so beutiful, cakm and relaxed, you forget that you are in the middle of a giant city. I liked it, a lot.

Packed with tourists during holidays, filled with locals every other day, Xuanwu is a great place to "get away" from the city though it is impossible to get away from the crowds. You can explore the islands in the middle, take a walk around the edge, go for a boat ride or set up a tent on one of the... More

I visited Xuanwu Lake and the adjoining park with a colleague on a Saturday. It was full of people spending a day in the park with friends and family. There were people on boats as well. The lotus ponds were huge and nice. The old Nanjing city wall near the entrance to the park stands majestically tall. I also enjoyed... More

From a waterside boulevard to a carp pond, from a bonsai garden to an old city wall, the Xuanwu lake never ceases to impress the visitors which spend time in the park. Spend more than four hours to go around the lake and visit all the islands and I am sure I missed things. It is truly a break in... More

We took the subway to the Nanjing Railroad station. We incorrectly exited from the North Square exit and ended up taking a complimentary connector bus to the South Square. Once we arrived we saw the lake across the street. We followed along the lake towards the Xuanwumen Gate. We strolled by lily ponds, rest areas, traditional Chinese buildings, gardens, ancient... If you are happen to be in Nanjing, then this is the place you do not want to miss. This park is National Grade AAAA Attraction and surprisingly the entry fee is free of cost, which makes it one of the reason to visit it. There are several gates through which you can enter. Popular ones are through Xuanwu Gate,... More
