Have to go see it

Like a mini great wall. Very quiet and nice views. Go to the one connected to the temple also so you can knock out 2 in one.

Had a great trip out to the Nanjing wall - very interesting and you can explore lots of the nooks etc - Make sure you feel the bricks inside the tunnels for hiding the soldiers in (they are warm in winter!) Well worth a trip out!

This may be a false impression, but I felt the city wall was respected, not artificially preserved but allowed to stand with its own presence a reminder of power through the ages. The wall is huge, part of the modern landscape (with children playing on the top, in care of adults, and a jazz band playing at the opening to... More

Have walked the entire walk a number of times with members of the Hopkins-Nanjing Center community. Delightful group outing. Entire walk takes anywhere from 6-10 hours, with lunch and other breaks. Some fantastic parts; some, not so.

We walked from the lake to the wall and paid our 30RMB for the two of us to go onto it! not sure what that meant. Walked along the wall for about a mile, great views over the lake and parts of the city, on public holiday it was busy but not crowded busy like the rest of Nanjing so... More

The City Wall is of the ancient times that still stands till today. There are so much of additional items added where it is mixed with the contemporary. Having aid that, it is still a tourist attraction, and locals come here everyday to walk around, exercise. If you are a fan of Taichi, when you are here at the right... More

If you had a bicycle ride on the Xian wall - you'd better not to go there. Most of pieces are still under reconstruction, the reconstructed parts though are a bit far from perfect also.

You need to take a small stroll on these walls as they give you a complete different view of the city of Nanjing. See temples and lakes from a (low flying) bird eye view.

Like other cities Nanjing has its own wall in which from different parts of the city you can get access and depending on the side you get in you can have nice view of the city.
