This modern museum was the best one I visited in China. Excellent, very interesting exhibits, and a lot of useul information to put it all in a historical context. And what's best, the museum is free! (as long as you bring your passport).

It is the vast complex from several buildings. The main is for history, the next for ancient art (the most interesting), other one for the modern art (sculpture and 100 years old street worth visiting)
