I have been planning on taking the TramOramic for a long time, and now that I have finally done it, I would definitely recommend it to all local residents and visitors alike. The urban area of Hong Kong is indeed spectacular, and being able to sit on the open deck to observe the surrounding tall buildings is an experience not to be missed. The conductor was a great ambassador, and certainly made our experience even more memorable. The wooden tram was well kept and comfortable, and the photo display was highly educational. All in all, a most enjoyable experience that is unique to Hong Kong.

It is a very unique way to be on board on a 1920-style tram to see one of the most popular route in HK. Both staff and driver are very friendly and helped us to take photos in the tram. I like the little goodie bag too! The audio guide is a great plus to learn about the history and fun facts about the tram and hong kong as well.

The kids and I really enjoyed the tour of Hong Kong aboard that lovely old tram. We discovered the city from the open top upper deck and the audio guide is well written with many stories of HK. That's a perfect experience of the former times within the modern districts of the city!
I recommend the tour to all visitors looking for a unique overview of Hong Kong.

Where do I start..First of all, the platform to wait for the tram was difficult to find. We were there an hour or two earlier and there was another tourist couple waiting for the tour as well. We had a friendly chat with them and they were as confused as we were due to lack of signage around the area.
Second, when the tram did arrive, the staff member admitting tourists into the tram started taking in customers from the END of the line. Keep in mind that we were second in line and the other couple was first in line. We were the last ones into the tram thus resulting us unable to sit on the top. The day was rainy but it was clearing up so we would have had the opportunity to sit outside, but due to the negligence of the staff, we couldn't.
Third, the recorded "tour guide" was very difficult to hear due to the loudness of the outdoors and the poorly designed earphones. Our earphones were such poor quality, one side was not working and we could not hear what the recording was saying.
We understand there will be some language barriers but we were a little disappointed during the entire tour and did not expect such things to occur. I have already wrote an email to the company about our experience. We do not recommend this tour, instead go on your own adventure on the "regular" ding ding trams which are only $2-3 compared to the $90 something tour.

It was a sightseeing gathering for relatives from other countries, the trip started from Whitty Street to Causeway Bay (Regal Hotel) and back to Whitty Street again. The tram was a classic one green in colour without air-conditioning. To my surprise, although the temperature was 32 degree Celsius, it was quite cool especially when the tram was moving. The trip was quite interesting even for an old HK citizen like me, when the tram moved slowly from Sai Ying Pun to the Central District just like travelling in a time machine from one century to another. When the tram reached Wanchai which is a cocktail of the old and new, you can easily feel the changes of HK in recent years. In the reverse trip, I could pick up the attractive locations that I missed before. When I came back to the Whitty Street station, I wished that I was at the beginning of the trip.

One of my friend recommended the TramOramic as I was looking for a new way to discover the city the second time I came. It was perfect! The journey in this heritage tram is well-balanced between historical storytelling, funny stories and amazing sightseeing of HK Island. Almost felt like I was back in old Hong Kong and it felt lovely!

This one-hour tour serves as a great intro to Hong Kong. I would recommend doing this early in a trip to Hong Kong, as it provides a great overview of Hong Kong's history as well as the different neighborhoods that can be visited during a trip. Taking the last tour of the day is ideal, as the lighting of the city is spectacular.
The tram driver and host were very friendly and offered to take many photos of our group. Overall, a great experience for anyone coming to or living in Hong Kong.

Hi,
How do we get to both terminuses - Western Market and Causeway Bay?
Are they easily accessible and near any MTR stations?
Heard that many tourists had trouble locating the Causeway Bay terminus.
Kindly advise as this will determine our choice of terminus to take the tram from.
We do not wish to waste time looking for the terminus as we have young children with us.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Mdm J,
Thank you for your interest.
Western Market Terminus
- 308 Des Voeux Rd Central, Sheung Wan
- Around 5-min walk from Sheung Wan MTR (Exit B)
Causeway Bay Terminus
- 88 Yee Wo St, Causeway Bay (outside Regal Hongkong Hotel)
- Around 5-min walk from Causeway Bay MTR (Exit E or F2)
You may find the corresponding locations on Google Map or the official website of Hong Kong Tramways. (Sorry that no URL links could be placed here.)
If you got to the right location, you will easier see red banners indicating the departure stops. Some passengers reflect that it is easier for them to find the Western Market Terminus as it is larger in scale.
I hope the above helps. Look forward to seeing you soon!

Do they allow to drop off at certain attractions example like places near the Peak Tram station, and then hop on back to continue the tour? Or we need to complete the whole journey of the tour?

Unfortunately you have to follow the route and only drop off at the end of the tour.

Yes, we invested on water-resistant intra-auricular earphones to provide a much better sound quality.
Is it okay to bring a stroller (folded) on the ding ding? Will there be space to put it in? How about a double stroller? Thanks!
