The area
Neighborhood: Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
How to get there
  • Central • 6 min walk
  • Hong Kong • 8 min walk

Amazing experience!
Jun 2019
I was first attracted by two large KAWS sculptures that I saw from a long distance away. As I came closer, I saw a sculpture that looks exactly like a security guard!! The quality of these sculptures amused me and I went in. I didn't realise that this was Opera Gallery until the staff told me. Their collections range from young up-and-coming artists to well-known masters. I was quite impressed, especially having been to their London location.
The staff I talked to are quite young but experienced, and gave me detailed explanations. You can tell that they are happy to talk and answer any questions.

I’ve bought pieces at this global chain of art galleries for many years. There’s more focus on contemporary art and they do carry a wide range of artists from uber famous (picasso, dali, kusuma, murakami etc.) to up and coming (joe black etc.). They have originals (from hundreds of thousands $) to prints (thousands to tens of thousands $)

Happy with their product and service

Careful with the sales tactics
Mar 2017 • Friends
The sales escort you around, can be pushy to make a purchase or make some kind of commitment with a deposit, though pieces are nice but over priced. Uncomfortable experience. Get more pleasant experiences with other smaller or less well know galleries. Singapore gallery - repeated location moves, each time to smaller premises. Very telling. ...

Fun contemporary art gallery, part of an international chain
Aug 2015 • Solo
Carlotta Conca is the Italian sales person who assisted me in looking at some of the international art I was first drawn to a Roberto Bernardi "hyperrealist' painting of lollipops and other hard candies. however the price is pretty high at US 55K.
There are a number of sculptures such as Ando's RoboCat and a Liu Dao art piece that consists of mixed media, a painting on a LCD display.

If you go, look for Carlotta. Her passion in her work really shows. Shipping to final location is included.
