We did the Sham Shui Po food tour with William in December. This tour was such a fascinating insight into Hong Kong and we tried so many places we would never have found if not for the tour. William was a wonderful guide - he is very passionate about Hong Kong and all it has to offer, and he took great care of us. We really enjoyed William's company and were sorry when the tour came to an end and it was time to say goodbye. This was a truly wonderful experience - thanks to Eating Adventures and especially William for a memorable day!

We had 3 days in Hong Kong and despite having some difficulty getting places and doing things because of the riots the food tour still went on. It was the best thing we did. It was fantastic. Our guide William did not stop talking, he was simply wonderful. We tried every type of food that I wouldn’t have known to buy and went to places we never would have stopped in. We learnt about the history and the people’s culture from 400 years ago to modern times. You’re missing out if you don’t do this tour.

William was our fabulous guide. He met us on time in an easy to find area. We stopped at several local restaurants including the local markets in Mong Kok. We tried a variety of delicious foods that even my 11 year old daughter loved. We tried: roasted goose, egg tarts, coconut tarts, black bean pastries, bitter and sweet tea, jasmine and duck tea, tofu pudding, shrimp dumplings, pepper stuffed with fish, pineapple buns, and another variety of dumplings. The most valuable part of our tour was the cultural aspect that he told us through the time together. He was extremely knowledgeable, and we felt safe the entire time together! I’d highly recommend William and this food tour company!! This was my favorite part of our entire trip.

You will not find a more enthusiastic ambassador for her neighborhood than Yan is for Mongkok. I would describe the experience as a neighborhood tour with nine delicious food stops along the way. She knew every shop owner and explained the history and significance of their stores or products. And, most importantly, she has great taste in food. The goose to start and tea to finish were my highlights, but everything in between was excellent as well. We took a 2pm tour and then took the star ferry tour around the harbor as the sun went down. If you’re staying island side it is well worth the trip for the tour. The neighborhood was quieter than normal because of the decline in tourism, which was great for us, but sad to see for the local businesses. Hong Kong is totally safe, much safer than most American cities, even with the protests. It’s a shame to miss out on an experience like this because of unsubstantiated fears.

This is easily my favorite kind of tour in Hong Kong! It is NOT one of those tours going through the usual tourist attractions with a big group and only having to spend a few minutes per location. The Eating Adventures Food Tour is an experience not only on Hong Kong delicacies, but also their history, culture and daily lives. I got to indulge myself with the best local cuisines of Hong Kong and also got a few history and cultural lessons from our amazing guide, William! This walking food tour took around 4 hours to accomplish. By the end of it, YOU WILL BE VERY FULL! William is a Hong Kong local and taught me some amazing facts about Hong Kong and its locals. If you really, really, really, REALLY CARE about your vacation and sightseeing tours, please consider Eating Adventures Food Tour. They are headed by locals and support the local vendors in all of Hong Kong. It is truly worth the price of admission and MORE!
