Mandy & Apple/(M&A )took me in multiple adventures in Hong Kong where I discovered the beautiful fusion of East meets West culture.
HK has so much to offer, from the Star Ferry rides that take you back in history where it was the Only transportation Form bwt Islands, to the breath taking view of Sunset at Victoria Harbor, to enjoying a stroll on Avenue of the Stars in Kowloon among HK melting pot community where one can also see the endless charm of HK Island with its backdrop mountains...
after six months of being an active tourist in HK :), I still have so much to discover with M&A guidance. These two young dynamic worldly cheerful tour guides are not just so proud to show their city, they also love sharing the many hidden treasures around HK.
M&A make sure every outing is unique and full filling in all aspects. Be ready for an unmatched tour with these two passionate Hong Kongers. I really love that M&A take you to the least traveled roads. They start with the usual tourists spots which one Must see, then they unveil HK real charm one trip at a time. From the most rewarding hiking trails to the BEST local food, these two ladies definitely know what they are doing! Brace yourself for an unmatched adventure every time you are in the company of M&A. HK is so lovable & so is M&A.
Tip
Ask M&A to take you to the tastiest Beef Brisket dry noodles ..... then go straight to indulge in HK style Waffle in Shau Ki Wan. U will want to go back to this local joint over and over 😬😋

Mandy’s private and tailor made tour was like no other. I'm a tough person to excite but Mandy knew the best places to take me. I had no plans whatsoever coming into Hong Kong. I did not realize how wonderful and beautiful Hong Kong is.
My tour included a small nature walk to Mandy’s secret spot, gazing down onto the extravagant and brilliant creation of the city. You are able to see the contrast of nature versus man-made skyscrapers. This short walk gives a better view of the city below without having to deal with all the touristy crowds. A much preferred private tour. Not only was the view spectacular but also Mandy keep dishing out very knowledgeable history. I won't say much on this, as Mandy will sure tell you.
After this we took the ferry across. Once again seeing the amazing city now from the waterfront. Mandy is always switched on; though I kept forgetting I was on a tour. She has an upfront bubbly personality but very subtlety teaching you about Hong Kong. We finished off our tour with a nice dinner as good friends. She is the best tour guide I've ever come across; you don't realize you're on a tour because she becomes a friend showing you around town.
Mandy is a sweet young women, with a strong desire for her passion and love of Hong Kong. I would definitely hire her again to take me on another tour to see others parts of Hong Kong. You should too, you won't regret it.

Dear Franz,
Thanks for your kind words. It was nice that you enjoyed the small walk in the nature - it was such a nice escape from the hustle bustle of the city. I hope next time you get to stay here a bit longer so I can show you more of Hong Kong. All the best to your business and I look forward to seeing you.
Best,
Mandy

Two spectacular days with Mandy, this tour is a must!!! We did the Best food, culture tour and Lantau Island tour.
Wow such a beautiful place and so much wonderful history. Mandy is a fantastic host, and the perfect guide to her city.
Mandy was also kind enough to give us self guided tours, which were perfect for us to get around by ourselves.
We have learnt to use every mode of transport making the sightseeing so much easier and enjoyable. Thanks Mandy , love you girl 💕😘 from your ANZAC sisters !! Tracy, Melody & Angela

Mandy was responsive and gave great advice as we were setting up our 3-night stay in Hong Kong, and her sister Apple gave us a great tour. We went to several markets (loved the Snake Restaurant!), a nice hike on an alternate route around Victoria Peak etc. I feel like we did the tourist things that everyone should see, but with a great perspective. Loved the shrine and dim sum restaurant she took us to. She suggested Nan Lian Garden and the Chi Lin Nunnery for the day after our tour, which we thoroughly enjoyed and would have never found on our own. Because we were going on a Food Tour on our last night, she suggested we do the Garden/Nunnery followed by the Fish, Bird and Flower Markets instead of trying to make it to Lantau to see the Great Buddha. Perhaps it would have been impossible to see the Garden and Lantau in the same day -- but we could have done without seeing the Markets. The Flower and Goldfish Markets were underwhelming, and the Bird Market was kind of depressing, despite the beauty of some of the birds. That's just feedback for them for in the future, not a complaint. We did want to see the Markets, but those particular ones just weren't that interesting compared to the time they required.

After 5 mins it felt like Apple was a very precious grand daughter showing her family around a place tha she loves Apple has a very deep and reflected knowledge of Hong Kong and Chinese Culture. It was her willingness to share her life as a Hong Kong citizen that made the tour special. She totally concentrated on Gay and I during the tour ensuring our safety comfort and enjoyment. Our tour included:.
Victoria Peak Garden highest point,
Victoria Peak Peak tram back to downtown Central
Double decker tram ride (ding ding)
Wan Chai local dry and wet markets, sampled HK style egg tart
Dim sum lunch at a local restaurant
Pak Tai Temple (Taoist)
Ferry across the Victoria Harbour
Travelling quite often this was one of outstanding tours of a city we have had. We were picked up by Apple at the hotel and delivered home again. She also helped us with other info for the rest of our time in Hong Kong. Before the tour we shared our interests and these were beautifully worked into the tour. Overall this was a very special tour with a very special guide. Thank you Apple

I just literally returned home to NY from a short impromptu trip to Hong Kong and wanted to leave a review for others planning on going in the near future. I often travel solo and find it difficult to choose amongst the numerous tour groups available for hire. I chose to go with Hong Kong Getaway Private Tours based on their positive reviews but the predominant reason being the fact that they are TRUE LOCALS. Mandy Cheung did not disappoint! The 2 tours I had with her were filled with amazing sights, fun facts, tasty food, refreshing beer and stimulating conversation. Thanks again Mandy for the memorable experience!

Our target was to know the "real" HK and It was a very special day for me (my 50th birthday). Ka Yan Cheung is a amazing, nice, polite and educated young lady. She took us to the New Territories, the borrough where she lives. And everything exceed our expectations we saw a lot of great places that we could never see alone.I appreciate a lot her behaviour. I only regret something: I gave her a tip smaller than she deserved. At least I want to send her again my gratitude It was a perfect birthday.

Dear Cati and Miguel,
I was really honored to be part of your birthday memories;)
You two made an adorable couple and I really enjoyed showing you the less touristy part of Hong Kong. I always treasure every single encounter with people and I really hope I can see you two again, maybe in Hong Kong, maybe in Spain haha;)

Our tour start time was delayed twice because of flight delays. Our guide Mandy answered our E mails and arranged new start time without hesitation. We asked for a tour off the beaten track and that's what we got. A fantastic tour of her home town-and surrounding area without seeing another tourist. A market tour with tastings and explanations of what was happening and a meal in a local restaurant with explanation of customs and traditions plus the great food.a visit to authentic fishing village and a boat trip in a working fishing boat. Mandy. Also helped educate us on the use of public transport plus gave us plenty of information to make our trip to HK very enjoyable.
Highly recommended.

We are a kosher-observant family of eight (kids ages 5-18 -- three little kids, three teens), and one of our party broke her leg a week before the trip. We were joined by three additional relatives after initially booking the tour, and to complicate things further, we were starting out on Lantau Island and ending on Hong Kong Island. Given the limitations -- we could not partake of the food and local transportation as others have described. Nonetheless, Apple managed to craft a personalized tour that hit on major cultural and scenic highlights -- Tai O Fishing Village, Mong Kok Birds Market, Tsim Sha Tsui Harbourfront Promenade, Star Ferry across the Victoria Harbour, and Victoria Peak -- arranged the perfect transportation, kept the kids' and adults' rapt attention (and befriended the little ones and patiently answered all their questions). The tour was completely wheelchair friendly, which was incredible. We were very impressed with her knowledge, humor, and her intense love for her city. She did not hesitate to extend the tour an extra hour to accommodate our kids' Hershey's spree at the candy store at the Peak. After we arrived at the hotel, we realized I had left passports back at our hotel in Lantau, and she stayed extra time to speak with the hotel on our behalf to help track them down. She also advised us of activities to hit when we weren't touring with her (AIA carnival, Aqualuna junk ride) that made the rest of our trip truly memorable. She has our highest recommendation!

From the moment we met Apple in the lobby of our hotel we felt a real connection. She is such a lovely person and her knowledge of HK culture and history is outstanding. Day 1 we hit the ground running with the Best Food and Culture Tour, travelling like locals on the subway, ding ding, taxi and ferry. Victoria Peak and the Peak Tram was a highlight. We also visited the wet and dry markets and sampled a HK style egg tart - very delicious. Apple took us to have a dim sum lunch at a local teahouse and afterwards we visited the Nan Lian Garden - simply beautiful and serene. Day 2 we embarked on a HK at Night Tour where the city lights and the harbour are spectacular. We sampled a chicken pot and hot pot dinner, something we never would have experienced, rode the double decker tram to Causeway Bay, visited the ladies market and walked the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade before catching the Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour. Day 3 - Lantau Island Tour and what a truly wonderful experience this day turned out to be! We rode the Crystal Cabin cable car to visit the Big Buddha and the Grand Hall of 10,000 Buddhas then caught the local bus to Tai O Fishing Village to see the stilt houses - such a contrast from the hustle and bustle of HK. We wandered through the alleys and markets and stopped for lunch at a delightful cantonese restaurant sampling more of the local cuisine. We highly recommend Apple (and her sister Mandy who we met on Day 1). They are simply the best tour guides in HK.

My friend has a gluten allergy which means she also can’t have soy sauce. Is it possible to do a food tour where we wouldn’t have to worry about this allergy?
