The area
Neighborhood: Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.

Jenny bakery
Jul 2019
Jenny Bakery is so famous for cookies that they limit two tins of cookie per customer.

As well as cookies, they have cranberry nougats.

珍妮曲奇 - Jenny Bakery's cranberry nougats are nice with pieces of tart cranberries in it but i found them too buttery for my palate.

Famous for their ok butter cookies and entertainingly bad service
Feb 2020
Jenny's Bakery first opened in 2005 and has become something of an attraction here in Hong Kong. At there original branch in TST, you can often see mindlessly long queues of tourists, hell-bent on buying packages of the locally famous cookie brand to take back home as gifts for friends and families. This is especially the case with the mainland Chinese tourists to the city. Thankfully, they opened up this branch in Sheung Wan, which can have queues but nothing like what you will regularly see in TST.

Are the cookies that good? Not really. They are decent but if you are familiar with butter cookies from Europe or North America, it is doubtful that you will find anything special about what is baked and sold at Jenny's. What you will find impressive is the awful service that you may encounter at one of their shops. In short, you better know what you want to order when you reach the counter and don't ask questions about the cookies or you may get a scolding in Cantonese and told off for holding up their queue. Clearly, their interest is in selling and keeping the queues moving, that is it, that is all. The service has been so bad at times that it is sort of entertaining.

A souvenir from Hong Kong
Nov 2019
I'm not sure what I was expecting from the shop front, but the Jenny Bakery outlet in Wing Wo Street, Sheung Wan was very plain and dull indeed. No customer service, review the price list on the wall, select your items and take to the counter for the CASH only purchase. The store only sells biscuits, there were no biscuit samples to entice the customer and no conversations. We gave the tin of butter biscuits as a gift to a family member, they were absolutely delicious, but were they worth the price? I'm not sure but they were a nice souvenir from Hong Kong.

Delicious peanut cookies!
Jul 2019 • Solo
Went there on a rainy, typhoon day when almost all stores were closed. There was no queue, I was able to buy 6 tins and the old lady was very nice to me and answered my questions patiently. Even reminded me that the bag had HKD1 extra charge. She suggested the peanut cookies which were a new addition said it was her favorite...indeed they were very good!

Always good cookies, but don’t expect any service
Apr 2019 • Business
I always buy this to bring home whenever I visit HK on business. Near IFC, this branch is not crowded, unlike the Kowloon branch.
When there’s a queue, which is unlikely nowadays, decide what you want quickly and state your order quickly, otherwise they might ask you to step aside first.
Not cheap, but well worth the money. Get only from the genuine shop, many imitation around!

Near MTR and still good
Feb 2019 • Friends
This outlet is near the Sheung Wan MTR. It is quick easy to find and the cookies still taste good. We arrived about 3pm on a Monday and there was no queue.
