Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter is a unique fishing village that blends the old and new. The traditional lifestyle shared among fishermen or Tanka people with many antique junks and sampans are juxtaposed against fleets of luxury yachts and towering skyscrapers. The typhoon shelter is also home to many intangible cultural heritage, all being traces of the humble beginnings of Hong Kong when it was still a small fishing village.

Let us bring you back in time as you hop onboard our unique sampan boats, we will cruise through 13 different local landmarks around the charming Aberdeen fishing village. While cruising, try immerse yourself in the area’s rich culture and history, through our exquisitely designed audio guide, where you will listen to folk-tales, lullabies and narratives of the area. If you’re lucky, you may be able to witness traditional dragon boat trainings or live fish trade in action!

If the beach is in your plans when in Hong Kong, then Deep Water Bay is a close and good option. Go to the bus terminal in Central and take bus number 260 to Stanley. It stops right at Deep Water Bay. The beach is clean and sand is somewhat flat with shallow bay. Good for kids. Some eating options. If you want a more fancy experience. stay on the bus for Repulse Bay. Again a larger and more detailed beach with eating options and trees for shade. Both stops for the return bus ride to Central.

Easy to get to on the 6x bus the beach is small and nice. Not as developed as Repulse Bay or Stanley it’s best to take your own food and drink. Nice place for a swim and to watch the luxury yachts

A smaller beach closer to Repulse Bay Popular for the bbq pits and the beach Only one cafe closer to the place Weekends are very crowded with Philippinos and become a fun and noisy place If you need to bbq, go around 3.00 to get a place for you Make sure to take all the mesh and tools as no shops. But the cleaner may have few used ones for sale if you are lucky Have a look at the golf course and Li KA Shins house above the course🙂😊 Also Ocean Park with lights

Beautiful beach with glorious sunsets just 15 minutes by bus from Central District. At the moment the bbq area at the end of the beach is out of order due to typhoon damage. Once it has been cleaned up properly it's a great spot. As is Coconuts bar and grill right in the middle of the front of the beach.
