One of my favourite places in Hong Kong. Has a vibe all it’s own, devoid of the cliche and sleaze of the Wan Chai strip, and the all night party atmosphere of LKF. Casual, cozy (especially in the winter), plenty of food options. A hidden...More

We had drinks at Maze, but there are about 10 restaurants/bars on Knutsford terrace to choose from all on this walking only street. If you are looking for the mid-levels atmosphere on the Kowloon side, here it is.

Nothing compared to Lan Kwai Fong, unless u come here just for 1 or 2 particular bar of your choice. Just bout 100meters long, dirty with rubbish all along the walkway thrown out by each outlet.

We chance upon this gem of a venue while exploring the vicinity around Mira hotel. We were actually looking for steamed chicken mushroom rice (found in most local dim sum joints) but that’s a story for another day. Knutford terrace is actually located directly behind...More

Tsim Sha Tsui is one of the major tourist and shopping

A food street on HK Island side? (2 Replies)
Is there a place like Knutsford Terrace on HK Island side near Causeway Bay other then Lan Kwai Fong. I am assuming that Lan Kwai Fong is not very family friendly, we have young kids. I know that there are many bars AND restaurants, but it is more of a night life party place...right? Anyways, are there others that we can dine at?

Staunton Street or Elgin Street in Central (known as SoHo), or anywhere in Causeway Bay. LKF at night is not family oriented at all.

I have been studying this forum, your replies are always so great, so is my plan for a first stay in HK near perfect? Arrive 7.10 am on a Sunday in April. Draw money, buy Oyster cards and use this to get the Airport Bus to The Salisbury YMCA.. Hotel only available about 2pm so maybe a Star Ferry Harbour tour and a Dim Sum meal to use up this time. PM Ladies Market or Temple St Market/ Knutsford Terrace. Day 1 MTR to Tung Chung then bus to Big Buddha (no cable car!!!!so sad). Lunch...More

I replied via the email report but it seems it has not come through yet. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I cannot believe I wrote Oyster card, I have been reading this forum for so long but was looking at the one where someone called it Oyster, not Octopus card, and was thinking I must not type the wrong name...........Stupid!!!!!!!!
