Uptown Plaza is a shopping centre connected to the Tai Po Market MTR Station. It is fairly modern with around 70 shops and restaurants. There is an expected range of mid-range retailers, fast-food and casual places to eat. Opening hours are roughly 10am to around 9 or 10pm nightly. For a larger and more comprehensive shopping venue in Tai Po, go to Mega Mall around 10 minutes walk north. Otherwise, it is fine to visit Uptown Plaza if you intend to be at MTR Station and the bus terminus while in Tai Po.

Conveniently next to train station with good shops as other reviews mentioned but not a place I'd like to come to on my own with a buggy (or wheelchair). The only lift up into the mall is 20-odd steps up from the station exit. There is a sign with a local phone number to call when you reach these stairs but I hadn't got a HK phone and there wasn't an assistance bell. The lift goes to the different floors and ends up in the car park if you're wanting to reach the top floor restaurant.
