The area
Neighborhood: Mong Kok
It’s one of the highest density districts in the world, so come to Mong Kok prepared for action. Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy. Similar retailers will conveniently congregate in the same area forming easy to remember references such as “flower street” and “sneakers street.” Here you will also find various local delicacies being served at street snack shops or hole-in-the-wall restaurants. One reliable rule of thumb: the smaller the place, the better the food.

Hong Kong has a long history of public transportations since British colonial time in 1888, from rickshaws, the iconic Victoria Peak Tram, Double decker trams, London style buses, 16-seat minibuses, Cross-harbour Star Ferry, Efficient MTR trains, etc. From this shop, you can buy lots of and N scale (1:150), HO scale (1:87) and OO scale (1:76). If you can't afford one, you can still buy cute buses, stationery. The flagship store in Prince Edward offers you a larger section of products. If you want a covered and air-conditioned area, go to the Langham Place branch in Mong Kok. If you don't have time, you can visit the Star Ferry branch at Tsim She Tsui or the Western Market branch at Sheung Wan, which are must visit attractions.

They have some really rare stuff and some very expensive models. Brings out the nerd in you. Take lots of cash.

You need to bring home a cool model of a KMB Bus that almost ran over you. Or a model of a tram, to sit on your bookcase. Or a fun little cartoon-ish plastic bus that you pull back and then let go, and it zips forward! Kids love these! Or, how about a stunning model of a Boeing 777-300ER airliner for your desk at work? Good stuff! Bring money! Lots of great things to buy! 80M Bus Store also has locations in the Star Ferry pier building, on the Kowloon side, in that row of shops where you go in. They also have a store in the old brick Western Market building in Central at the end of the tram line. Enjoy!
