The area

Neighborhood: Mong Kok
It’s one of the highest density districts in the world, so come to Mong Kok prepared for action. Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy. Similar retailers will conveniently congregate in the same area forming easy to remember references such as “flower street” and “sneakers street.” Here you will also find various local delicacies being served at street snack shops or hole-in-the-wall restaurants. One reliable rule of thumb: the smaller the place, the better the food.

The Chong Hing Square is a commercial building along Nathan Road between Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kong MTR Stations. The upper floors are mostly office space with a few restaurants. The lower level floors are used by large South Korean, Japanese and Chinese restaurants.

There is also an entire floor by Living Plaza by Aeon, a low price brand of the local Department Store company. There is a 711, bakery and the likes on the ground floor and a PriceRite in the basement. In the end, not much here for visitors but a fairly popular place for locals and area office workers for the restaurants within.

The only tenant worthy of note is the Daiso store (Living Plaza) which takes up a whole floor and is by far the largest Daiso in Hong Kong.

The prices here are $12 per item which is roughly double the 100Yen you would pay for the same item in Japan. But it is still cheap.

A low quality, mass young market Japanese style restaurant ocupy the lower floor. Avoid at all costs.

This store sells items priced at HKD12 each, similar to the Daiso store concept. If you are looking for bargain buys, this is the place. Conveniently located along Nathan Road, close to Mongkok MTR. Apart from Jusco, there are a handful of restaurants in the mall.
