The area
Neighborhood: Tsim Sha Tsui
Tsim Sha Tsui is one of the major tourist and shopping areas of Hong Kong. With a high concentration of hotels, retail shops and commercial offices – it’s a busy and bustling neighborhood that never sleeps. On the surface, Tsim Sha Tsui seems to only feature an abundant number of high-end retail stores selling designer brands and jewelry, owing to its popularity with high-budget shopping tours. However, it also contains a diverse range of attractions for the entire family. Whether taking a walk in Kowloon Park, exploring museums, going shopping or grabbing a bite to eat – Tsim Sha Tsui has something for everyone.

Great and true “bespoke” (I.e. handmade for you) tailor
Mar 2018 • Family
Visited Simpson Sin for some suits, one for me (2 piece), one for my son (3 piece), a second vest, a blazer and couple of shirts for him as well. Visited Monday, picked out the materials and styles, first fitting Tuesday and finished and available Friday.

Beautiful work, materials and tailoring. Fitted like a glove, good finishing work, nice touches. All in all $2,700.

If you need suites, a great place to go. They also visit the USA twice a year to several cities (March/April and September), they take your sizes and will sew and ship the finished products to you.

Lovely people and great service.

Initially satisfied with my suit as a newbie, as I learned more about custom suiting, the flaws became apparent
Sep 2017 • Couples
I bought a suit in September 2017. It was a 5 day order. I came in on a Saturday, had my fitting in the afternoon, and picked up the suit on Tuesday.

The measurement process was painless and the guys were great to work with. The shirt needed a bit of adjusting, but they were able to turn it around speedily within two hours.

I'm conducting the pinch test above my top buttonhole, but I only feel two layers. Taking the jacket off and working my way further up, I feel the canvas in between the two outer layers. Definitely half-canvas.

As one of my first custom made suits, I was happy when I initially received the suit. However, I have been learning more and more about what should be the custom suit fit.

In pictures taken after the fact, the shoulders have slight divots, the back does not lie flat under the collar and is slightly tight, the rear pockets are done with a loop around a button on the outside of the rear pocket, rather than having the button on the inside of the rear pocket, and the trousers are not cut perfectly and wrinkle as a result. Whenever I sit down, because I have large quads, the trousers are at the tightest possible without bursting.

However, this was a 5-day order and, I'm hoping, with more time, fittings and adjustments, they could have gotten this suit perfectly.

I found Simpson Sin on Trip Advisor several years ago and made some purchases then. On this visit they were my first port of call just after opening time. I was very tired from a long overnight flight and they were both understanding and helpful.

As on my previous visit nothing was a trouble. The staff were accommodating and with helpful suggestions. Several shirts and trousers were soon ordered. The materials are first quality. Shirting is 100% cotton. The sewing is strong with good quality thread. As other posters have noted all work is done on the premises. On both visits I had the pleasure of meeting the tailor who did the work and was able the thank him personally for his craftsmanship.

I don't consider the prices as "cheap" by Hong Kong standards but the quality is well above those standards. It is important to allow enough time for the work to be done to the proper standards and it is better to have extra fittings than too few. This requires time. I always allow several days plus a little extra.

I have no hesitation in recommending this firm to my friends and anybody else.

Top Tailor
Dec 2015 • Couples
After so many times I'have been to Hong Kong I had several tailors but none really good. Last year a friend told about Simpson Sin so I stopped there to have an express suit in 2-3 days. No way they told me, a bespoke suit needs time and if is the firs one one week might be necessary. I took their card and at the end of 2015 returning to Hong Kong with 5 days they accepted to make a suit for me. Choose my fabric and after 5 days I flew back home with a perfect suit, but as I couldn't resist I ordered another one that I received by mail after 2 weeks. Just perfect, if you are looking for a good one this is your tailor.

Best Tailor in Hong Kong.
Oct 2015 • Couples
Hands down, best in all of HK. They DO NOT make suits in China, every thing is hand made locally off Nathan Rd in HK. My first tailored suit, and the group is very easy to work with, and I expect the product will be top notch as well. I haven't received my suit yet, it should be a couple weeks, but the very reasonable price I was quoted up front reflected shipping back to the States.

10/10 will absolutely be calling them for any future suits and recommending to everyone.

I was last in Hong Kong 25 years ago and at that time Princeton Tailors was my companies preferred tailor. Simpson Sin left Princeton Tailors and formed his own business since my last visit. I walked into Princeton Tailors on my recent visit and was so unimpressed that I walked straight to Simpson Sin.

Upon arrival I met with Tony and Roman who I remembered from my visit 25 years prior. We discussed old times before getting down to my needs. I told them that I was only in town for three days and I knew it might be a stretch to have anything made. I wanted a sport coat and trousers made. This was Thursday and I was leaving Sunday. They said they would have just enough time. Tony made a suggestion for the coat fabric which was a beautiful brown/black material and a pair of all black trousers to compliment the ensemble. After two fittings I picked up my coat and pants Sunday prior to departing Hong Kong. The coat is the nicest I have ever put on. Beautiful. My weight in my waste/stomach is always an issue and given more time, I would have made the pants a bit looser around my hips. This was my fault for rushing through the process and eating too much food.

I would highly recommend Simpson Sin to anyone I know. Just allow yourself enough time to go through the process.

Wonderful Hong Kong Tailors
Dec 2014 • Friends
Recommended to me by a Kowloon local on my first visit in 2010, and was so impressed by there service and quality to my first suit and shirts purchase I have returned yearly to up grade my wardrobe. Tony Wong and his staff are very special people and make the experience of choosing quality custom clothing most pleasurable whilst enjoying Hong Kong.
Excellent customer service to suit your deadlines and affordable prices.

Thank you Simpson Sin Tailors

A must do for any man of style.

My husband had a suit during our honeymoon in HK. Roman was amazing, guiding us through the whole process. We talked everything from style of the trousers to what is "trendy" this season in fabrics. He was also very helpful to work with us on our budget. We had read that the cost to have a quality suit made was lower than it is in reality. However, we made a few quick modifications to our order and truly feel the value is worth every penny.

Most amazing suit I've ever seen on him. Beating his Hugo Boss.

High Hopes but Missed the Mark
Jun 2015 • Friends
Just visited the famed tailors on a trip to HK with a group of friends. I personally had 3 suits made and the the group had 4 more made, collectively 7.

Nice guys and good service while in the shop but the low review comes on the actual dissatisfaction (and poor rating) is for the fit of the suits I had made.

We all went through the normal fitting process and with 5 days in town figured it was enough to get all done since I had suits made on mainland China a couple years back.

Asked for a modern fit and went in 2x for post measurement fittings to make sure all was proper. Sadly the last day at the final fitting they tailors had me try on the final product but it just sat big and not at all like the modern cut suits I have at home. I didn't feel good at first and should have pressed them more to make changes however our fitting was a 3pm on Saturday and we were leaving on Sunday at 10am which didn't seem like enough time to fix the suits. I took them as is hoping it was just the fitting that was off but now comparing them to my suits at home they are way too big and just not made as asked. The fit is dated and I felt rushed to just take the suits as is since we were out of time. That said, I'm extremely disappointed after spending over $2k in suits and now have to get them taliored again (fixed) properly here in the states.

Hoping this was a fluke but nonetheless highly disappointed in the end product for the $$ spent. I have to imagine there are alternative options for the money and will have to think twice about going to a place that we see on a TV show.
