Horizon Plaza is at outlet mall at Ap Lai Chau that is popular with local and tourist shoppers. In the past this place was a bit difficult to reach from the city, most using taxi service. However, since the MTR line was expanded to reach nearby South Horizons (South Island Line). You can actually take the metro and just walk 10 minutes distance from the any of the three MTR Exits there.
What you will find here is an old factory building that was repurposed into a 25 floor outlet mall, providing over 500K sq ft of shopping space occupied by over 100 different shops and outlet stores selling furniture, interior design and loads of fashion and lifestyle products.
Note: The ground floor is just furniture shops. This is what you will see upon arrival at Horizon Plaza. The popular high-end retailers take up space on the upper floors. When you go into the main entrance you will quickly spot the long shop directory past the assistance desk, where you can look up the floor location of the particular shops that you are most interested in seeing.
Note: Probably best to have an idea of what shops you are targeting so you can game plan a bit before starting as the lifts can be really slow going up and down, particularly on weekends and public holidays. Some recommend taking lift to the highest floor and using the stairs to make your way down when more convenient than waiting for lift service. This makes a lot of sense if you have a handful of different places you want to visit across various floors. If you are only here for one or two places, just using the lift may still be your best option.
In the end, lots of outlet with quality product lines available at Horizon Plaza for those that enjoy this type of shopping. Just remember to have an idea of what you are looking for so you can maximise your time here. Further, if you are just wanting more general shopping, there are endless malls, centres and street and outdoor markets throughout the city, no need to come all the way out here to Horizon Plaza.

This is a large outlet shopping centre with fashion, furniture and homeware stores. All of the stores are genuine. There are no fakes or copies here and prices are fixed so there’s no bargaining.
Discounts are significant (mostly around 50 - 75%) but sizes are limited. The brands are mostly high-end (Armani, Chloe, Marni, Marimekko, Hugo Boss, Yves St Laurent, Max Mara, Ralph Lauren, Shanghai Tang) so they are still expensive. Max Mara usually has a big range of winter coats and there is a large Lane Crawford, which always looks like a jumble-sale but, with a little perseverance, you can find great bargains. Pleasingly, most of the stores have change rooms which is not always the case at outlet centres.
On the downside, the centre is difficult to navigate. It’s more like a factory building than a shopping mall so its a bit dingy and drab. It can also be frustrating and time-consuming to try to make your way around it. Overall, if you only have a couple of days in Hong Kong, it will not be worth your time to go here.
There are 2 things that we find helpful when shopping here:
i) The first is to stop at the main desk on the street entry level and pick up a floor-map. I do this every single time. It’s pretty much essential because the layout is haphazard and it’s easy to get confused.
ii) The second thing is to start at the top floor and work your way down. This is because the lifts are slow and do not stop at every floor (they only do odd or even numbers). It’s easier if you use the service lift instead of the customer lift but we generally find it quickest to take the stairs to get down to the floors we want to go to. Each floor is quite small so use the map to target what you want and skip any floors that don’t interest you.
If you need a break while shopping, there aren’t many options. The Tree Cafe on 28F is OK. I’ve had a soup and a bread roll there a couple of times. It’s pretty basic but it serves the purpose when you need to take time out and sit down.
GETTING THERE: A taxi from Central is about $200HKD. By public transport, take the MTR train to South Horizons (exit C) and then it’s a taxi or a 15 min walk.

We decide to visit Hong Kong again and on our agenda there is certainly a place for Horizon Plaza. in fact we wanted to visit the Prada Factory outlet nearby. The MTR has a stop just below this Prada outlet. Just ask around once you arrived at the MTR. It is the station after ocean park station. Instead of taking a bus before, the past 2 times we travelled here by train as it is faster and more convenient. Nothing much has changed but there are more shops at the South Horizon MRT areas. From here, take Exit C. It takes a 15 to 20 minutes walk to horizon Plaza.Walk pass the bus terminal and walk along waterfront area and you can see the horizon plaza building from far away. FYI only, The Prada outlet is just on street level of the South Horizon station, that is within the building of MTR
In Horizona Plaza, we always recommend starting from the top...27...but do get a directory at the lobby first so u can decide what brands u like to browse. Worthwhile to go: We take about 2 to 3 hours cos we only visit specific shops.
Fashion floors
Level 27 : Max mara fashion-they have another outlet on level 4 403 to be exact.
Moda moda carries many other brands I like
Marni
Diesel outlet
Hugo Boss
Juicy Couture
Level 25: Lane Crawford
Level 22: D Mop outlet
Y-3 Outlet
Armani outlet
Level 21: Etro
Level 19: Fairton-various brands
Bluebell-various brands
Replay
Level 18: Marc Jacob
: Agnes b
Anteprima, Atsuro Tayama
Ralph Lauren
Paul Smith
Shanghai Tang
Saint Laurent
Level 17: Brooks brothers
Ecco
Katespade
Other good to go:
Level 5: I.T. Outlet- various designer brands, clothings and shoes
Level 4: Salvatore Ferragamo
Chloe
Emenegildo Zegna
Then on level 22...SIFT -café for coffee and cakes.
Most items are off seasons. takes 2 to 3 hours . use the stairs...some are even floors and some odd floor stairways so just take note. restrooms on almost every level...alternate men and women.
Happy outlet shopping!
Usually quiet...except at lobby level where most people wait for the lift so better to go all way to top then just walk down instead of waiting for the lift.

I visited Horizon plaza to look for my new house, great interior items like curtain, photo-frame, fragrances, artificial flowers. It had such a diverse brands from french antique to modern style. At a glance, it looked all luxury brands but there were so many unique items that I could not find at any other places, with very good quality at reasonable price! This is definitely a go to place if you are looking for unique gift for your friends and home decorations! My best picks were on 10th and 16th floor

27 stories of overpriced "discount" high end brand names.
Half the floors are furniture. The other half is indeed brand names, in well organized and clean environment.
I supposed being from Canada we are a little spoiled as we have all this stuff at home and at the same price, so there are NO bargains to be had and it's an extremely boring and bland mall, especially when comparing to all that Hong Kong and Kowloon have to offer.
Long transit to get there. Nice residential area to walk around, but no restaurants or anything entertaining in the area.

It takes a while to get here and it's not really worth it. There were quite a few fashion brands, but the discounts were just the same as in the high street shops. It feels more like a warehouse than a shopping centre. The Prada outlet is next to the MTR exit, that was quite good.

Horizon Plaza Located at Ap Lei Chau, in Hong Kong and is a good place to go and spend time and money to shop for unique, international home furnishing brands, household good and discount designer fashion brands. It was previously a factory building which has now been converted to 28 floors of shopping experience and covers more than 500,000 consisting of nearly 100 shops.
The furniture and fashion factory outlets, includes upscale brand retailers such as Lane Crawford, Max Mara, Joyce, etc. There are three cafes and an Italian supermarket. However, I beleive that there could be some better restaurants and cafes and people who are going to shop could enjoy a break with better food choices. A practical tip: Avoid lengthy waits for the lifts by taking shops directory at reception to help you focus on the right floors and do some walking down via the stair cases. There are plenty of well maintained toilets.
Reaching Horizon PLaza has been made easier with the extension of the MTR line and you can take the South Horizons Station Exit C and walk along Lee Nam Road for approximately 10 to 15 minutes to reach Horizon Plaza. Alternatively, you can take bus 90 to Ap Lei Chau Estate at Exchange Square Bus Terminus, then take bus 95 at Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus, and alight at Lee Wing Street, or take bus 91 to Ap Lei Chau Estate at Central Piers, then take bus 95 at Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus, and alight at Lee Wing Street, or take bus 671 to South Horizons on Gloucester Road near Cannon Street, Causeway Bay, and alight at Lee Wing Street.
Happy shopping ....

This is a building consisting of 27 floors of shops selling furnitures (bottom levels), designer brands, and at least one cafe (level 22). It was converted from a factory.
There is a bus 590 from Central. But we took a cab to save the hassle.
The price tags were not really cheap although this place is supposed to be selling past season goods and at discount.
The TripAdvisor Visitor ratings showed that there were reviewers in praise of this place, as well as reviewers giving it a poor-terrible rating. So its to each his/her own. Mixed review.
For us, its not worth our visit.

Perhaps for the locals, this Plaza has great prices but for outsiders from Europe or North America, it does not seem to be worth it. The trip is not long to get to this place from central HK, by bus, taxi or MTR, but better prices can be found elsewhere. Fashion is on different floors from furniture and other things but the elevators are confusing, and all the shops tend to boast the same sort of discounts...which may not be real reductions if the prices were set higher in the first place. Beware shoppers...this is not for tourists but rather for mainland shoppers who come in droves to buy western products at what they think are reduced prices...cheaper than an air ticket further away for them.

Billed as a multi-story shopping mall full of merchants this confusing structure is really designed for a local looking to furnish a home or apartment. Almost impossible to navigate effectively, we spent a fair amount of time browsing. Time would have been much better spent wandering the streets of mid-level, times square or the malls of mong kok.
