The area
Neighborhood: Mong Kok
It’s one of the highest density districts in the world, so come to Mong Kok prepared for action. Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy. Similar retailers will conveniently congregate in the same area forming easy to remember references such as “flower street” and “sneakers street.” Here you will also find various local delicacies being served at street snack shops or hole-in-the-wall restaurants. One reliable rule of thumb: the smaller the place, the better the food.
How to get there
  • Mong Kok East • 2 min walk
  • Prince Edward • 6 min walk

Moko (formerly Grand Century Plaza) is a large shopping mall with direct access to the Mongkok East MTR Station and Royal Plaza hotel. This was just one of the many shopping malls, centres, plazas and arcades in the Mongkok area until major renovations revitalised the property into a modern and nice shopping venue around 5 years ago.

Now what you find is a nicely laid out 7 floor mall with the cute name of Moko (taking the first two letters from Mong and Kok). The mall has something of a Pop Art fell with some of the signage with most shops now being international midrange brand names, mixed in with some local and casual eateries, food shops and the likes.

You'll find a large Yata Supermarket, Toy's R Us, Eslite bookstore, Outback, quite a few toy and hobby shops mixed in with a range of clothing, household and lifestyle product retailers. Lighting is good, seasonal holiday decorations are fine as well. In the end, this is the nicest shopping venue in Mongkok East, the best mall option in the area.

This is one of many modern shopping malls in Mong Kok. Moko is a comprehensive mall with quite a lot to offer. Apart from the common brand name boutiques, it also provides a variety of dining options. A good place to spend a couple hours.

Many choices for shopping and eating. Right above the subway.
Only complain is that it is very difficult to navigate.
Sometimes it can seem to be a maze.

It is close to Mong Kok East Bus Terminal and Railway Station, and the traffic is quite convenient. Compared with other areas in Mong Kok and Prince Edward, the crowd here is not much. It is a large shopping mall, mainly brand-name shops and chain stores.

This mall had a full renovation since I was here back in 2013. It's so much nicer and prettier on the inside. I couldn't even recognize it. Great stores here with a wide selection of products. The food court is also a nice gem! I really love this mall!

So there’s quite the variety of stores here from Moiselle to Uniqlo, Adidas to Skecher, Coach to Links of London. And as others have mentioned it has the Food Opera food court area which has a great variety of food. There’s a Starbucks and a better coffee place on level 2 (urban?). It’s also got the Mong Kok East MTR and the footbridges across to Mong Kok station run out of one end of it too (about 5-10min walk on covered footbridges).

We managed to complete most of our gift shopping here. Huge number and variety of stores spread over at least 5 floors, you’ll find it here!
In the food court, we had dinner at Pepper Lunch Express. Amazing! Beef with garlic pepper rice, sounds simple, tastes delicious!

Moko is a great place to eat and shop. There's a great place for dim sum, especially the XO radish cake.

The food court in Moko mall is called Food Opera. It is on the 3rd floor on the side of the cinema theater. It has about 15 restaurants and common seating area. We found the food to be very good, with many dishes to choose from. The cost is even lower than the restaurant you find in nearby streets. We could have a good meal for about 40-60 HK$.
The mall is a connected to "Mong Kok East" subway station (Not to be confused with "Mong Kok" Station).
