The area

Neighborhood: Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.

A higher end mall located in the financial district. IFC stand for International finance centre.
One of the biggest draws of this mall is the Apple store.
You can easily access this mall by MTR and getting off either at central or Hong kong station.
The mall has free WiFi, umbrella lending and mobile battery charging and other complimentary services.

I have visited this mall various times in the past, and it is one of the malls in the business district that you can shop, and the Apple Store is definitely one of them. It has 2 office blocks and quite a bit of eateries, clothing, accessories and luxury brands, and is connected to the MTR. Worth popping by if you are in the neighbourhood.

I am here everyday as my office is in the complex. Very clean and well kept. Whatever vendor options are here you can assume are expensive.

Conveniently located to the MTR and Airport Express. If you work in the complex, you can get everything you need done here except for dry-cleaning or laundry service.

This is quite a nice mall with office block and is connected to the MTR. The usual brands can be found here and there are many eateries and cafes. Good place to hang around for a couple of hours, especially if you are working nearby.

This shopping mall fails to excite me. Location is good near star ferry and hk station. It has several floors with restaurants (normally quite pricey), a department store, cinema, coffee shops, supermarket, plenty of beauty shops and some high end stores.

It is very airy and bright.

If you are nearby you can walk pass and check it out. However it is not worth it to go out of your way to see what is there.

IFC is spotlessly clean. No vibe of Hong Kong inside. Elitists from anywhere in the world would feel right at home.

If you go to the rooftop of IFC, you will find comfortable wicker chairs and tables that are open to the public. It's great and totally free!
These seating areas are next to some of the great bars and restaurants on the IFC roof, but you don't have to patronise them. Just bring your own sandwiches, snacks, drinks, wine or anything you want and enjoy the environment without breaking the bank. You can meet your friends there for a social get-together or hang out alone.
If the chairs and tables are taken (especially on Sunday) there are other nooks and crannies where you can sit...like on ledges near fountains etc. Keep in mind that finding a place to sit in Hong Kong without spending money is a real challenge.
So, when you are wearing yourself out sightseeing in Hong Kong and you need a place to go and chill out, remember the IFC roof. You can buy food and drinks downstairs at City Super, McDonalds, 7/11 or bring your own homemade picnic lunch. So if the world is getting you down...go up on the roof!

*) Right across the Central / Hong Kong MTR station (Hong Kong MTR Station, Exit F).
*) The MTR station is inside the building itself.
*) Night View from top deck. The rooftop garden at Podium 1 Level 4 has million-dollar views, you can get your own food and eat here. Stop off at the CitySuper deli on Level 1 for snacks which is a bit expensive or go cheapo with 7-11.
*) Hours: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm
*) There is a Pierre Herme macarons shop here. They only sell a bunch of minimum 7 pieces and do not sell individual pieces. They need refrigeration and I think do not last for more than 3 days, thus no good if you just need a quick bite or snack.
*) IFC 2 is free to go up to the 55th floor. Go into the building and down the escalators to the concierge, you will need ID and they will print a pass then into the lift and up. The view from the top is great. There's a small museum about Hong Kong financial history and it's currency as well as the view. Then back down hand your pass in and back into the massive mall. If your in the area well worth going up as it's free and offers a great view of Hong Kong
*) Get a map or mall directory brochure for reference, its a big mall and quite easy to get lost.
*) There is a Godiva here which sells yummy Soft Serve Cone Icecream.

Many large malls are packed with humans and goods, but for IFC- it is never the case

Spacious walkway and comfy setting

Good thing is it comes with free performance at certain timing and a free "observatories" on its "rooftop park" to view the HK mainland opposite!! the view is worth a few thousand dollars, at least
As a tourist, u get to enjoy discounts when u get its tourist passport to shop in its building(but certain outlets like the supermkt is not offering discounts), free wifi too!

the classy supermkt provides a good collection of overseas goods and food like products from Taiwan and jp (and they are really affordable), you could pack some lunches or dinner from its deli and get up to the rooftop garden ...it has some limited no. of chairs ie revolving, you could take selfie/wefie by sitting on those revolving chairs to capture a 360degree view!!!!!

its anchor: Lane Crawford offers a unique collection of merchandise and apparels at a HIGH price!!! but good to do some window shopping

For the men, their IT/mobile collection is slightly weak on the whole

For gluttons, food aplenty with the Michelin-ratted Tasty Congee and Wantun noodle (Dim sum/porridge restaurant) that usu has long queues if u don't strategise to patronise at the right timing
However, I felt its Wantun/dumpling noodle is nothing fanciful at all

On the whole, this mall is still a must visit, though the walk from Central station to this mall is killing me
and it has some nearby tram (ding ding) stops, all you need is to get down and (walk towards to the sea location) use the overhead bridge and u get to enter the IFC easily, u will never get LOST!
It is really a stop to capture the best picturesque view of HK

Nearer to the IFC is their Monetary Authority which offers another observatory too!! check it out....
