From the stunning skyline to the spectacle of Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong is full of world-class sights for travellers to see. But if you’re looking for fun – to add a little ‘do’ to your ‘see’ – then look no further than Happy Wednesday at Happy Valley Racecourse, the city’s trendiest headquarters for mouth-watering food, thirst-quenching beverages and thrilling excitement both on and off the track. There’s nothing quite like a night at the races in Hong Kong!

Week in and week out, Happy Wednesday fans are treated to a full sensory experience, pairing the pulse-pumping entertainment of jousting jockeys with a weekly theme that is integrated into everything from live bands and interactive games to on-course decorations and a delicious, reasonably priced trackside menu. Come in the fall and you’ll be treated to refreshing pints and a festive bratwurst for Oktoberfest – the largest outdoor beer festival in Hong Kong. Drop in during May, however, and it’s all ratatouille and brie, as Happy Wednesday hosts the hugely popular French Nights. It’s an extravaganza that’s fit for Asia’s world city, putting an international twist on a sport that has a rich heritage and cultural tradition for the city’s people.

There’s simply nowhere else in the world where you can experience such a seamless blend of racing and lifestyle in one event. Whether you’re a local, an expat, or just visiting Hong Kong, there’s truly something for everyone at Happy Wednesday!

Mind you, I am no football fan kind of person. But the races in Hong Kong are someting else. First there's the setting. It will take your breath away. Then there's the money, millions of dollars every single race day. If you get lucky here, it's significant. There's nothing like it in the USA. Trust me, I have actuallly lived... More

The crowd is just perfect. The stadium is not dirty and the food is good. Also, the crowd is very enthustiatic.

Every Wednesday there is a horse race at happy valley, where one can drink beer, watch some shows and bet for the horses. Really funny place :)

Wednesday night at Happy Valley Racecourse is a ton of fun. My husband and I went, and didn't even bet on the horses. It was fun to just grab a beer and stand right next to the track to watch the races. I've never been at a racecourse where you can get so close to the action. Use Entrance G... More

An arena where joy and excitment is joined, also part of a national sport, the races are followed like a minuty of a clock; however for the family with teens, the doors don't accept Under 18, never mind the fun is there

This tour is an absolute must when visiting Hong Kong. I have done this tour 3 times now & loved every time. Even if you are not an experienced horse punter, the betting slips are very easy to follow & you will soon find yourself getting in the spirit of things. Had many a great night on this tour!

This was my first time at horse racing. I've been to dog races so sort of knew what to expect. It was a great atmosphere with bands playing in between races and stalls to get food and drinks. It's easy to place bets by filling in the betting slips, guides to do this can be found on the web. Remember... More

A great night out at the races! Fun and entertaining, good atmosphere. Worth going up to the sixth floor for the views. Use the tram to get there. 😀

HK needs a bigger budget surplus so besides earning tourists dollar through shopping, the next best thing is to squeeze every ounce from tourist and yet make them excited through horse betting. You can bet your last dollar that the winner is Jockey Club!
