The Urban Delight Kowloon Culinary Wanderwalk was one of the highlights of my Hong Kong visit. Our tourguide Carol took us to 5 restaurants and the market. I had a great evening. What I liked so much about this tour was 1) our tour guide. Carol was very open, knowledgeable and sociable. 2) the food!! Carol took us to restaurants that I would never have visited on my own (due to language barriers). The food we got was just amazingly fresh and tasteful. 3) the information shared. Carol did not only talk about the food and the restaurants, but also about Hong Kong habits, history, politics and much more. 4) the company. We were in a group of 6, everyone just great company to spend an evening with.
I highly recommend this tour to other travelers!!!

I booked the tour for my first day in Hong Kong as an introduction to the city and it's food - wasn't disappointed! Tina was a lovely and knowledgable guide. The food was delicious (and lots of it) and a great way to try traditional Hong Kong cuisine

On Urban Discovery´s food walk we explored local gem restaurants and eateries in Hong Kong´s busiest districts, Jordan and Yau Ma Tei. It was a wonderful tour full of special dishes and places you even wouldn´t find if you lived here. Our guide was knowledgeable about all the food and drinks, between the food tastings he was able to tell us about the history and preparation of the served food and he told about local table manners and eating habits. It was very well organized and well paced. We enjoyed walking in the neighbourhood and taking in the local culture and the mouth watering food!

Really loved it and I highly recommend it!

Dear Florence, Thank you for your kind words! We thoroughly enjoyed having you and Andries on the tour and we are pleased to read that we were able to show you new restaurants and let you try new dishes. Edmond, your guide, told me that you both took on the "food challenge": well done - not everyone dares to do that! Thanks again Florence, and we hope to welcome you back on another tour sometime soon. Don't forget that our foodwalks are also a great way to take visitors off the beaten track and into the real, local, culinary culture of this beautiful city, so bring them along too! Ester

Our person guide Tina took from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei stopping at five local restaurants, giving us an insight into the local food and selecting a variety of dishes in each restaurant. Some of the restaurants were ones you would not normally enter but with Tina's assurances we did, as that is what we were wanting. The restaurants were "local" and it was all about the food. Some of the dishes were not totally to our taste but we were glad we tasted them. We had a small group and all got on very well. Tina gave us the history of the food and some of the cultural aspects, particularly the Chinese herbal teas. Highly recommend this tour.

It was a very very nice evening with Tina! Thank you very much! Though I lived in Hong Kong for a bit till now and thought that I tried the majority of common stuff, I was proved to be wrong. And happy to be so. Places are really nice, food is super tasty. I was a bit concerned about the choice as I do not eat meat, and here in hogn Kong all the dishes are stuffed with it, but in the end I was as happy as all other memebrs of our group. I tried some very interesting things like sesame soup (which was adorable), snake wine and snake soup. Basically this tour is really good because you can choose whatever you want and its going in a very relaxed manner. So don't be afraid if you're vegeterian or something of this kind. And plus Tina is very helpful and kind.

Thank you Polina for your kind review. We're glad our guide was still able to surprise you and accommodate the non-meat diet, which can be challenging in Hong Kong indeed! We hope to have you on the tour again some time.

Wiith just 3 of us on our tour, the lovely Tina guided us through many different restaurants and eateries to sample simple but tasty local food. Walking through streets around the Jordan/Nathan Road area, we walked through the Temple Street night markets where we sampled things like snake soup, black sesame seed soup, deep fried pancakes,a clay pot, and other local specialties.
The tour lasted about 3 hours at an easy walking pace. Well worth doing especially if it's your first visit to Hong Kong as it gives you more confidence when dining out on your own and having a greater understanding of the menu and what to order.

After eating breakfast at McDonald's all three days we were in Hong Kong and being mocked at One Dim Sum by a middle-aged (I can say that as I'm middle-aged) crone who was appalled by our lack of skill with chopsticks and inability to match the correct dipping sauce with the appropriate dumpling, it was time to try some local food with a local. April, our guide on this tour, was wonderful. We visited five restaurants, have some great food and learned a lot about Hong Kong food and culture. The smoked rice and shaved ice dessert were awesome. The challenge was not as bad as expected. The tour lasted about 3 1/2 hours but didn't feel like it dragged on. I highly recommend.

Visited Hong Kong in May 2012 and cannot recommend it more strongly. The city is a real metropolis, rapidly urban and densely packed but with beautiful traditional features such as the old Buddhist temples; a real mix.

Best piece of advice: get off the main streets. The real Hong Kong is quietly going about its existence in the side streets and markets. Go explore them, get food from the stalls and mix in eating outside at the local cafes/restaurants with the locals.

Hong Kong island is fantastic but so is Kowloon. Absorb the culture.

Edmond did a fantastic job of guiding us around the backstreets of Kowloon. We had delicious authentic cantonese food (finished with amazing Western deserts!!). Edmond is extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions, even those that had nothing to do with food. I would recommend this to everyone, whether you have lived in Hong Kong for many years or are new to the city
