We stumbled on this shopping center a few years ago when we took the Star Ferry to Hung Hom and were strolling around. Imagine turning a corner and seeing a ship surrounded by apartment buildings! While there are a few shops and fast food places on the "upper deck", the bulk of the shopping center is underground. The main attraction... More

Not much to see here. Sounds great on paper but is really just a town centre with a giant boat in the middle of it all! Shops are spread into different "zones", not really a place for tourists.

Wonderful worlds refer to each phase of Whampoa Garden's shopping arcade. Each trying for a different theme. The Kid's World is most fun and the AEON ship is a major draw. Good shopping, good eats and a few very cramped carparks makes this a suburbian family weekend destination. Soon to open MTR will make this evern more busy.

It looks great from outside. The shops in the ship are bit outdated. Too many people. It's better to go early in the morning.

Besides the ferry ride from North Point across the harbour not that much to look at. A lot of eateries which might be nice in the evening but not much during the day for tourists. Facility most attractive for locals as it has various areas for homeware, furniture and supermarket.

The site used to the old Whampoa shipyard and this explains the appearance of the concrete replicate cruise ship , which is however in fact a shopping mall, on the ground. This architect is interesting, from the above explained perspective, however the shopping itsef is nothing exceptional. I would not suggest going out of your way for it.

Your first reaction is going to be ...like...what in the lords name is this...??? A huge cement ship bang in between two rows if residential buildings. It seems as it either the ship has lost its way or the building were constructed in the wrong area.. but after the initial shock and awe wear off, you will realise there is... More

To find a ship in the middle of a city is quite an experience... but we did. While on holiday in Hong Kong, we happened upon this ship that had been converted into a shopping centre with lifts, restaurants, boutiques etc. I was told by a local that this area of Kowloon used to be under water, but the Hong... A friend of mine living in the Whampoa garden invited us to a restaurant on the top floor of the ship. I took this chance to show off my knowledge to hubby. This was the first time he see a giant ship acting as a shopping mall in the middle of a crowded city. He looked at it in awe,... More

A wonderful concrete ship in the middle of a housing complex, really wierd/ strange. First time there it was full of great shops, now, I don't think anybody knows, fantastic place to come across though.
