“Closed for Renovations until 2019”
The museum has been closed for around three years for a major renovation and expansion project, beginning 3 August 2015. By 2019, we will herald a brand new look to Tsim Sha Tsui.

Hong Kong really is lacking a world class museum and unfortunately the HK Art Museum has already been closed for several years and won't re-open before end of 2019 or even 2020. Hopefully once the renovation is completed, its displays will be significantly enhanced. The...More

Added this to my itinerary only to go there and find its closed till 2019. However the signs and the website couldn't have been less clear. I wasn't the only one to make the mistake either. Very disappointed

We were interested in going to the museum and we're disappointed to find it now closed for some considerable time - it would have been helpful for the tourist office had advised us.

Maybe the description on TA is meaning there is confusion with the excellent History Museum which does have many artefacts and is where you should be heading. Next door is the science museum so it's 2 for 1 and both great. I am sure that...More

Tsim Sha Tsui
Tsim Sha Tsui is one of the major tourist and shopping
