Great walk, and a peaceful break from the city, fantastic views when the cloud broke and a very ethereal walk when they came in and it rained. We finished this off with the no 9 bus into Shek O and a fantastic meal at Shek O Seafood and Thai restaurant :)

Such a pitty that this beach was so unclean, because has a beautiful nature. It was impossible to dive into the water, as the plastic was all over, touching you like jellyfish. I got also some itchyng caused by the pollution. Very sad what we've been doing to our planet.

I visited this attraction on a work outing. One doesn't associate beaches with Hong Kong as it's more usual to think of shopping or food. However this beach makes a very nice alternative to both. Located about 20 minutes drive from Causeway Bay, Shek O beach is a slice of nature in the big city. On my visit, the water... More

The beach can be accessed via public light bus departing from SauKeiWan (next to MTR station) or by bus (#9). It is less than 30 min ride, so easily accessible by all. Some people went for BBQ but we went to relax and enjoy the sun. We were greeted by a few sales for beach chair and umbrella rental. After... More

Shek O village has a nice little beach. It is sheltered and has calm waters most of the time. You can rent chairs and umbrellas, but the chairs are extremely uncomfortable, there are no sun loungers. It gets crowded on weekends, but other days less so. There are plenty of small simple restaurants in the area. Prices are good.

Stopover at Shek O after Big Wave Bay. Longer stretch of beach with more lifeguards on duty. The backdrop is more scenic thus I walked nearer to take photo to realise that there were quite a lot of rubbish on the beach, maybe got washed up by the water. Overall, there were more activities here compare to Big Wave Bay... More

We went up to Dragon back by bus but we went out at the wrong bus stop. Lucky us that we hitchhiked and someone drove us for 2 more kms to start point of hiking. Nice view along the way up to the mountain.

Hello. I went to Shek O for a swim in the sea. I got there easy enough and went for a swim. The water had so much rubbish in I was out very quickly. Plastic bags, wrappers, paper, etc. Such a shame as it is a pretty beach. I walked to Big wave beach which was far better.

Few people know that only 25% of Hong Kong's land is built upon forcing our people to live in high density small apartments due to lack of land supply. 40% of our land is Country Park and our trees enjoy a great quality of life. Shek O is a welcome break. Shek O has 2000 inhabitants in an ancient village... More
