Highly recommended. The beach is very beautiful, the water is clean, there are pleny of great restaurants just behind it, and the beach is well equipped with showers, changing rooms, barbecue areas and is very nicely accessible by public transport. Much recommended.

A b s o u t e l y ! You take the MTR (BEST commuting service in this World btw !) blue line towards Chai Wan. Step off at Shau Kei Wan. Take the bus towards Shek'O...simply follow the trail out of the MTR station towards the bus square. Once there you will find yourself in a spot very... More

This is a beautiful beach especially in the off-season. You can rent chairs and umbrellas from people at the beach - be willing to bargain. This place can be crowded in the summer though!

You wouldn't expect a quaint little village with an excellent beach in a place like HK... but here it is!! Well worth the trek.

Too the MTA and then the number 9 bus. Very easy to get to. Really nice uncrowded beach. I took a nice hike. Stay away from the Thai Chinese restaurant. It was awful.

Shek-O and Big Wave Bay have always been the classic places to go for an envigorating swim to get out of the summer heat. It's still that and if you have no swimming togs you can buy them there. Great!

The beach is easily accessible by bus (number 9 from Shau Kei Wan mtr) and it is in front of ShekO village. Once you arrive you can rent chair and umbrella from the many ladies there. It is a sandy beach, and sea is usually very good in the morning, while after 1pm becomes a little wavy and dull. There... More

If you want some time out from all the shops and away from the crowds go to Shen O. This is a little village that has a few open style eateries and some beach wear shops It is very raw and that is the charm nobody is about. The beach is well patrolled with over 6 lifeguards it is all... More

Great walk, and a peaceful break from the city, fantastic views when the cloud broke and a very ethereal walk when they came in and it rained. We finished this off with the no 9 bus into Shek O and a fantastic meal at Shek O Seafood and Thai restaurant :)
